Chapter 338 You're a really nice person.
Li Haotian slapped away the last swarm of purple moths.
The golden-red flame flickered a few times in my palm before going out.
He looked at the wrecked motorcycle on the ground and kicked away the deformed foot pedal.
"These days, even dying is treated with such a grand spectacle."
Lin Mo stood at the door, holding an empty porcelain bowl of braised pork in her arms.
"That person's scent has faded; it doesn't smell good."
Li Haotian pointed inside the house.
"Go back to your room and sleep. You have to go to school tomorrow."
Lin Mo licked the oil stains off the rim of the bowl and slowly moved back to the living room.
Li Haotian pulled out a large plastic sheet from the storage room and covered the wrecked motorcycle with it.
I had a very restless night, and the sky was already beginning to lighten.
He went back inside, took a shower, and then lay down on the sofa to rest with his eyes closed.
The sun had just risen above the horizon when the sound of horns blared outside.
"Beep—beep beep—!"
The piercing sound penetrated the soundproof glass of the villa and echoed in the courtyard.
Li Haotian suddenly opened his eyes, a flash of golden light passing through his pupils.
He scratched his messy hair, slipped on his flip-flops, and walked toward the door.
He was wearing a pair of brightly colored shorts and carrying two bags of trash left over from last night.
Upon opening the gate, the once quiet main road of the villa area was blocked by several black SUVs.
A brand-new blue Porsche was parked in the middle, its front facing Villa No. 1.
A young man in a white suit leaned against the car door, wearing sunglasses.
Behind him stood a dozen burly men in black vests, each with tattoos on their arms.
"This is what they call 'better to be early than late,' delivering trouble right to your door early in the morning."
Li Haotian walked to the roadside and put the trash bag on the ground.
"Hey, you in the white shirt, honking is prohibited here. Can't you read?"
The young man in the white suit took off his sunglasses and glanced sideways at Li Haotian.
"Are you the security guard named Li Dazhu?"
He took two steps forward, his face showing undisguised disgust.
"I am Han Kun, and Han Dehai is my father."
Li Haotian picked at his ear.
"Never heard of him. I've only heard of someone named Han Dehai who was arrested."
"You bastard, are you out here causing trouble, planning to collect your father's corpse?"
Han Kun's face instantly fell, and he pointed to the gate of the villa area behind him.
"Stop talking nonsense, my family heirloom is lost."
"Someone saw a thief run into your yard. Open the door and let us search."
Li Haotian chuckled and leaned against his own doorpost.
"A family heirloom? Your dad's pair of underwear with the hole is gone?"
"Or have you lost your status as an illegitimate child and are coming to me seeking validation?"
The bodyguards behind Han Kun took a step forward, the leader's fist clenched so tightly it cracked.
"Kid, watch your mouth."
"If Young Master Han says it's lost, then it's lost. What kind of worldly trash like you have ever seen?"
"I bet you've never seen a treasure like this in your life, so it's not surprising you stole it."
Han Kun sneered and patted the hood of the Porsche.
"Li Dazhu, looking at your ragged clothes, could you even afford one of my car headlights?"
"Open the door and let me search. If I can't find it, I'll give you a few thousand dollars as a reward for your trouble."
Li Haotian ignored him and bent down to pick up the large solid cast iron trash can next to him.
This bucket was provided by the property management and is full of construction waste, weighing at least fifty or sixty kilograms.
"I didn't see the family heirloom, but I happen to have a bucket of trash to dispose of."
Han Kun frowned, covered his nose, and backed away.
"Stay away from me, it smells sour and disgusting."
"A person like you is just wasting the air of the East China Sea."
Li Haotian felt a sudden heaviness in his wrist as he weighed the trash can in his hand.
"Young Master Han, look at this bucket, doesn't it look like your lost treasure?"
As soon as he finished speaking, Li Haotian exerted force with his waist, and the floor tile beneath his feet cracked with a snap.
He was like a fully drawn crossbow, his right arm suddenly swinging out.
"Get out of here!"
The heavy iron drum, weighing several tens of kilograms, flew out like a cannonball, accompanied by a whistling sound.
Holy crap!
Han Kun felt a gust of wind sweep over his head, and he was so frightened that he squatted down on the ground.
The iron bucket traced a semi-circular arc in the air, covering a distance of over a hundred meters.
"Clang—!"
A dull, loud bang echoed throughout the street.
The Porsche's hood was smashed, leaving a deep dent, and all the glass was shattered.
The metal bucket was securely placed on the front of the truck, spilling its contents of rotten vegetable leaves and construction debris all over the truck.
The bodyguards were all dumbfounded, standing frozen in place with their necks stiff.
Li Haotian dusted off his hands and sighed.
"Oops, my hand slipped. Look what's happened."
Han Kun's eyes nearly popped out of their sockets when he saw his beloved car turned into a garbage dump.
"You...you dare to smash my car!"
"Get him! Break his legs! And drag that girl out with you!"
The dozen or so bodyguards snapped out of their daze and rushed toward Li Haotian with strange cries.
Li Haotian stood still, took out his phone from his pocket, and skillfully dialed a number.
"Hello, Captain Chen? There are people illegally gathering in Jinghaiting and possessing controlled knives."
"Yes, it's right behind that blue Porsche, all those cars are full of them."
He hung up the phone and kicked the bodyguard who rushed to the front.
Before the bodyguard could react, he was sent flying back close to the ground.
It crashed into the SUV behind it, smashing a large dent into the door.
Han Kun shouted angrily.
"Call the police? You lousy security guard, you think you're qualified to call the police?"
"In this area, I am the law!"
Just then, the sound of urgent police sirens came from the end of the street.
Five or six black riot control vehicles from the Dragon Shield Bureau roared in.
Chen Dong, dressed in a black combat uniform, jumped out of the vehicle.
"Who's causing trouble? Li Dazhu, is that you?"
Li Haotian pointed at Han Kun with an innocent expression.
"Captain Chen, you've finally arrived. I'm a law-abiding citizen."
"This young man, Han, claimed I stole his underwear and insisted on breaking into his house with his men."
"Look at those SUVs, their trunks are full of contraband, it scared me to death."
Han Kun was stunned, then pointed at Li Haotian and started cursing.
"Chen Dong, don't listen to his nonsense! He smashed my car!"
Chen Dong glanced at the dilapidated Porsche, his eyes twitching slightly.
"Inspect all of these vehicles!"
Several members of Dragon Shield rushed over and pried open the trunk of the SUV.
"Report to the captain! Eight high-frequency vibrating short knives and illegal crossbow bolts have been discovered!"
Chen Dong's face instantly turned as black as the bottom of a pot.
He turned his head and stared at Han Kun.
"Young Master Han, how do you explain all this?"
Cold sweat broke out on Han Kun's face.
"These...these are for security guards, for self-defense..."
Li Haotian came over and patted Han Kun on the shoulder.
"Young Master Han, that's not right of you. You can't use these things for self-defense."
"It would be terrible if this contraband got stuck in a child's skin. Luckily, I called the police for you."
He looked at Chen Dong with a smile.
"Captain Chen, this kid is going crazy trying to find the family heirloom."
"I suggest you take it back and check it carefully to see if there are any other contraband items in your home."
Chen Dong waved his hand, and his men immediately handcuffed Han Kun.
Han Kun struggled frantically.
"Li Dazhu! You just wait! The Han family will not let you get away with this!"
"Let me go! I'm Han Kun!"
Li Haotian waved to Han Kun, who was being escorted into the car.
"No need to thank me, that's just how warm-hearted we are, Donghai security guards."
"Reform yourself well once you're in there. If you can't find the family heirloom, remember to ask your fellow inmates."
Chen Dong watched as Han Kun was shoved into the car, and finally couldn't help but turn around.
His shoulders were shaking violently; he was clearly struggling to suppress his laughter.
"Alright, Brother Dazhu, that's enough acting, let's call it a day."
"This Porsche is so badly damaged, it's probably totaled."
Li Haotian shrugged.
"That's because it's poor quality; even the trash can couldn't hold it up. Is it my fault?"
Chen Dong led his men away, and the main entrance of Jinghaiting returned to silence.
When Li Haotian returned to the house, Lin Mo was squatting on the carpet in front of the French windows.
She tilted her head, her ear pressed against the floor, her brows furrowed.
"Big Pillar, there's movement down below."
"Little bugs, lots of little bugs are crawling."
Li Haotian's eyes narrowed, and he looked down at the smooth tiled floor.
The smell of rotten lilies reappeared, even stronger than last night.
"These guys aren't done yet."
He walked behind the kitchen door and pulled out a rusty crowbar that was over a meter long.
This was left over from repairing the motorcycle yesterday; I haven't had time to collect it yet.
He walked to the cement steps in front of the villa and stared at a tiny crack.
"Is it here?"
Lin Mo stretched out his finger and pointed to a spot on the cement ground.
"It's gnawing on bones in the ground, it's so noisy."
Li Haotian gripped the crowbar with one hand, and a burst of golden light flashed deep within his pupils.
He suddenly thrust the crowbar downwards.
"Pfft!"
The hard cement floor felt like a piece of soft tofu in Li Haotian's hands.
The crowbar sank more than half a meter into the ground.
Li Haotian twisted his wrist and forcefully lifted it upwards.
"Get out here!"
A large cement slab, along with the soil, was overturned and lay on the ground.
Within that clump of sticky black soil, a long purple snake was writhing.
This snake had no scales; its entire body was covered with tiny purple veins that throbbed constantly.
It had four or five eye-like growths on its head and was hissing at Li Haotian.
A pungent, fishy stench wafted out.
"This is the bug you were talking about?"
Lin Mo backed away in disgust.
"It wanted to hear us talk, and it lay there for a long time."
Li Haotian snorted coldly and pressed down in the air with his left hand.
The golden-red flames instantly enveloped the purple snake.
The snake writhed violently in the fire, emitting a sharp cry similar to that of a baby crying.
In less than five seconds, the purple snake turned into a pool of black charcoal.
A wisp of gray smoke drifted into the air, and the smell of decay subsided somewhat.
Li Haotian threw the crowbar aside and stared at the hole in the ground.
"Su Wan, can you hear me?"
A few faint static sounds came through the headset.
"I can hear you. The signal was just jammed by that thing."
"That's a 'mirror parasite,' which is specifically responsible for collecting audio signals and biological samples."
"The pioneers have already set up a surveillance network around your villa area."
Li Haotian wiped the sweat from his face and looked at the woods surrounding the villa.
"Han Kun is just a shield; the real culprit is lurking behind."
He turned and glanced at Lin Mo.
"Change your clothes, let's go to school."
Lin Mo blinked.
"Does cafeteria number three have braised pork knuckle rice today?"
Li Haotian opened the door.
Yes, plenty.
He stepped out of the threshold and crushed the purple residue on the ground with one foot.
Just as he closed the door, the soil at the corner of the villa's side wall shifted again.
A smaller purple tumor than before quietly emerged, staring at Li Haotian's back.
Pre-planned hook: Li Haotian led Lin Mo into Donghai University, only to find the usually bustling campus eerily quiet. The security guards who were originally on patrol had all disappeared, replaced by a group of new faces dressed in black suits with stiff expressions.
