Chapter 360 If you keep arguing, the meat will burn.
The boss's face, contorted like a flattened soda can, appeared on all the electronic screens above the restaurant.
The monitors were overloaded, and hissing blue flames kept popping out from the edges of the screens, causing the images to flicker.
"Li Haotian! You ruined my miracle!" the boss roared through the screen, his voice filled with hysterical madness.
His eyes were bloodshot, and you could almost smell the desperate, toxic odor of the medicine even through the screen.
"The majesty of the gods cannot be desecrated!" The boss slammed his fist on the monitoring table.
"I have initiated the self-destruct program of Abyss Island. In thirty seconds, everything here will turn to ashes."
"You lowly insects, may you sink into the trench along with this island!"
The researchers who had been running around in the restaurant stopped in their tracks upon hearing this.
Some people collapsed onto the floor, their rice bowls shattering into pieces.
The red alarm lights spun wildly on the ceiling, turning everything around them blood red.
Li Haotian was using a large strainer to rummage through the stainless steel pot.
He didn't turn around, nor did he pay any attention to the bouncing figure on the screen.
He spotted the reddest piece of pork belly and precisely scooped it into the white porcelain bowl.
The chunks of meat, coated with glistening sauce, were still swaying slightly.
"Come on, Momo, open your mouth." Li Haotian walked up to Lin Mo with a bowl in his hand.
He blew on the hot meat and carefully brought it to Lin Mo's lips.
Lin Mo was holding a large bottle of orange juice, his eyes fixed on the piece of meat.
She opened her little mouth and bit down hard, her cheeks puffing out like a little steamed bun.
"Li Haotian! Did you hear me?!" the boss roared on the screen, his voice so loud it distorted the speakers.
"Twenty-five seconds left on the countdown! And you're still feeding that monster meat?"
"They represent the hope for human evolution, not something you can raise as a useless bum!"
Li Haotian picked at his ear and glanced at the screen with some disdain.
He grabbed a rolling pin that had fallen to the ground and flung it away without even looking up.
The rolling pin whistled through the air as it smashed the largest monitor in front of it into a pile of scrap metal.
Sparks flew everywhere, and the boss's voice abruptly stopped in that corner.
"If you keep making noise, this pot of meat will burn," Li Haotian muttered.
"Rich people these days have no manners at all; they have to shout and yell even when they're eating."
He turned to look at Lin Mo, his tone softening considerably, "Does it smell good?"
Lin Mo nodded frantically, his purple pupils shining like gemstones, and his lips glistening with oil.
"Big Brother Zhu! Stop eating!" Su Wan's scream came through the earpiece.
"I intercepted the core data stream at the base's lowest level; he's not kidding!"
"A massive high-energy electromagnetic pulse bomb is buried beneath the entire island's crust!"
"There are only 18 seconds left on the countdown. At your speed, it's too late to rush out!"
Li Haotian frowned and looked at the floor beneath his feet.
A chilling vibration was emanating from the cracks in the floor.
The vibration frequency was extremely fast, like a giant beast holding its breath and about to explode.
"Physical destruction?" Li Haotian asked.
"It's complete vaporization at the physical level!" Su Wan's voice trembled with tears.
"The only solution is to cut off the core power supply 500 meters underground!"
"Only by cutting off that pulse flow will the self-destruct program be forcibly terminated by power loss!"
"But my permissions are currently locked, and I can't modify the program at all!"
Li Haotian stuffed the last piece of meat into Lin Mo's mouth.
He reached out and patted the dust off his clothes, his eyes fixed on the maintenance manhole cover in the corner of the restaurant.
"500 meters underground is too far, I'm too lazy to run."
"Just tell me, is that pipe near me?"
From Su Wan's end came the sound of frantic typing on a keyboard, accompanied by her rapid breathing.
"Inside the load-bearing column to your right rear!"
"That's the base's energy spine; all the main cables run through there!"
"But it's encapsulated with a deep-sea pressure-resistant alloy, and it also has five layers of electromagnetic shielding!"
"Brother Dazhu, there are only ten seconds left, it's too late..."
Li Haotian made a move.
His body shot out like a fully drawn bow.
The floor exploded into a ring of white dust beneath his feet.
Before the fleeing soldiers could even make out who it was, they felt a gust of wind sweep past.
Li Haotian stood in front of the load-bearing column, which was more than one meter in diameter.
The pillar, painted with black and yellow stripes representing extreme danger, was still vibrating at a high frequency.
He pressed his right hand against the cold metal wall, and a burst of golden-red light suddenly erupted from his palm.
"Sizzle—"
The alloy surface turns red and softens rapidly at high temperatures, like plastic that has been scalded open with a soldering iron.
Li Haotian extended all five fingers of both hands and inserted them directly into the crimson metal layer.
He let out a low shout, and his bones emitted a series of crisp sounds like firecrackers.
The muscles in his arms bulged as if they had been inflated, and the veins throbbed under his skin.
"Get out here!"
"Snap!"
The load-bearing beams throughout the restaurant were groaning, and large amounts of lime were falling from the ceiling.
Li Haotian forcefully tore a two-meter-long gash through the metal pillar.
Inside, there were countless purple and gold cables, each as thick as a thigh.
These cables are carrying terrifying amounts of electricity, enough to power a city, with blue arcs of electricity flashing everywhere.
"Warning! Unauthorized intrusion detected. Defense mechanism activated!"
The base's emotionless voice system echoed in the darkness.
Li Haotian completely ignored the voice.
He reached in with both hands and grabbed the bundle of main cables tightly.
High-voltage current drilled into his body through his arm.
Li Haotian's hair stood on end slightly, but the Golden Crow True Blood within his body surged back like molten lava.
The blue lightning bolts struck his skin like tiny flames falling into ice water, instantly extinguishing them.
He crossed his arms and pulled back forcefully.
"bouncing--"
The superconducting fibers inside the cable were stretched to their limit under violent force.
A thin layer of sweat appeared on Li Haotian's forehead.
He exerted force, and golden-red flames flowed from his fingertips into the center of the cable.
"Countdown, three, two..." Su Wan stared intently at the screen on the other end.
"Break!"
Li Haotian roared.
He pulled his hands apart, violently ripping the entire bundle of main cables in half.
The melted cross-section spewed out a column of fire more than two meters high.
The bright red cable sap spilled on the ground, emitting pungent white smoke.
All the lights on the island went out at that moment.
The intense, frantic vibrations vanished instantly.
The piercing alarm suddenly stopped, like a chicken being choked.
The entire base fell into a deathly silence.
Except for the large pot in the restaurant that was still emitting its last bit of residual heat.
The entire abyss island was as black as a giant graveyard.
The emergency lights in the distance flashed twice, barely illuminating a faint green light.
Li Haotian released his grip on the metal pillar.
He patted the black charcoal off his palm and looked down at the bundle of broken thread.
"The quality is really bad," he muttered.
"It breaks after just a couple of tugs, what's with all the hype about it being high-tech?"
Lin Mo stood in the darkness, holding a large white porcelain bowl in his arms.
Her purple eyes looked like two pretty little lanterns in the darkness.
"Haotian, the lights are off, I can't see where the meat is." Lin Mo's voice carried a hint of dissatisfaction.
She reached out her little hand, rummaged around in the bowl, and precisely grabbed the last small piece of pork belly.
"Brother Dazhu...did you really cut it off?" Su Wan's voice was so soft in the earpiece that it sounded like she was dreaming.
"My monitor screen went completely black, and my core energy level jumped to zero."
"That pulse wave is decaying rapidly; the self-destruct program has been physically cut off by the hardware."
"What are your hands made of?"
Li Haotian did not answer the question; he slowly walked towards Lin Mo.
He stepped over the mess, his leather shoes screeching as they rubbed against the metal shavings.
The researchers who hadn't yet fled huddled under the table, too afraid to move.
They looked at the man walking slowly in the darkness as if he were a demon.
"Is the meat not burnt?" Li Haotian asked as he walked up to Lin Mo.
Lin Mo chewed on what was in his mouth and shook his head contentedly.
"Perfect," Lin Mo replied vaguely.
"There was a little too much sugar in it; it's so sweet it made my throat dry."
Li Haotian smiled.
He pulled a cigarette that had been squeezed crookedly out of his pocket.
He rubbed his fingertips together, and a golden-red spark lit up.
The cigarette butt was tinged red, and wisps of smoke swirled in the enclosed restaurant.
"Boss," Li Haotian said to a dark camera on the ceiling.
He knew that his boss was definitely still watching from somewhere.
Even if the monitor screen is broken, that guy will find other ways to keep an eye on this place.
"You didn't do a very proper job hosting this dinner." Li Haotian exhaled a smoke ring.
"Not only will they not provide chopsticks, but they also expect to eat for free."
"When are you planning to settle the bill for this pot of braised pork?"
In the depths of darkness, no one answered.
Only the dull thud of the cold seawater crashing against the island's outer walls could be heard.
The sound was like some huge creature turning over in the deep sea.
Li Haotian looked up at the sky.
Even through the thick alloy and seawater, he could sense the boss's presence.
That guy was like a rat in a sewer, cowering in what he thought was a safe hole.
"Haotian, I want to drink that orange sweet water." Lin Mo tugged at Li Haotian's sleeve.
She pointed to the broken vending machine over there.
Li Haotian nodded and picked up a piece of broken steel plate from the ground.
He tossed it aside casually.
"Bang!"
The protective glass of the vending machine shattered completely.
Several bottles of chilled orange juice rolled to Lin Mo's feet.
Lin Mo happily squatted down to pick it up.
Just then, a thickened explosion-proof door at the end of the restaurant suddenly moved.
With a piercing whirring sound of the hydraulic pump starting up, the door slowly opened a crack.
A plume of extremely cold white mist billowed out from behind the door.
The white mist carried the scent of rotting lilies, stronger than ever before.
The orange juice bottle in Lin Mo's hand fell to the ground.
She suddenly stood up, her purple pupils instantly shrinking to the size of pinpoints.
"That big guy..."
"It crawled out of the jar." Lin Mo's voice was very low, but it carried an unusual excitement.
Li Haotian squinted, looking at the billowing white mist behind the door.
He took a deep drag of his cigarette and casually stubbed it out.
"Now that we've eaten and drunk our fill, it's time to get down to business."
He weighed the blackened iron spoon in his hand, a cold smile playing on his lips.
A row of tiny red dots lit up in the white mist behind the door.
Those red dots were like countless eyes, staring intently at the two people in the restaurant in the darkness.
A heavy, suffocating pressure came from the floor.
"Brother Dazhu, watch out!" Su Wan's exclamation had just rang out.
A huge black afterimage was pulled out of the white mist and headed straight for Li Haotian's forehead.
It was some kind of enormous tentacle, covered with writhing purple eyeballs.
Li Haotian raised the iron spoon in his hand.
The spoon left a golden-red arc in mid-air.
"Bang!"
The immense impact instantly turned all the tables and chairs in the restaurant into dust.
The floor tiles beneath Li Haotian's feet shattered completely, yet his knees didn't even bend.
He stared at the enormous, indistinct creature deep within the white mist.
"This is the first time in my life that ingredients have been delivered to my door on their own initiative."
With a flick of his wrist, the iron spoon drew a strange circle in the air.
That murderous intent emanating from the very core of his being erupted completely at this moment.
Behind him, Lin Mo's shadow stretched longer and longer under the emergency lights, until finally a pair of purple wings sprouted from the wall.
In the distant base's main control room, the boss stared intently at the only infrared sensor that was still lit up.
His fingers trembled as he pressed the last black button.
"That's... God," the boss murmured, his eyes filled with madness.
But in the restaurant, Li Haotian just spat impatiently.
"God, this tastes really fishy."
He swayed, transforming into a golden-red beam of light, and crashed directly into the white mist.
