As Cheng Zhe watched the messages popping up on the screen, they chatted until late into the night without realizing it.

The night outside the window grew darker, and only the light from the phone screen remained in the room.

He wanted to end the chat several times and say he was going to sleep, but every time he saw Zhang Shiyi's message with a hint of expectation in her tone, he couldn't bear to say it.

It wasn't until her phone screen showed 2:30 AM that Zhang Shiyi finally sent a message: "Wow, it's so late!"

"Go to sleep, don't let it interfere with our business." This was followed by an apologetic emoji, "Sorry, we got so engrossed in our conversation that we lost track of time."

Putting down his phone, Cheng Zhe leaned against the headboard, feeling a slight throbbing in his head, but unable to fall asleep.

He never expected that he would talk to Zhang Shiyi for so long. This seemingly mature young woman was actually so lonely and vulnerable inside.

A system panel suddenly popped up, displaying the message: [Side Quest Progress Update: Emotional Connection Deepened, Zhang Shiyi's Affection +20]

But Cheng Zhe couldn't feel happy at all looking at this prompt.

He didn't know if what he was doing was right or wrong, and he was even more worried that Lin Weiwei would find out about these things.

He didn't fall asleep until dawn, his dreams filled with all sorts of chaotic scenes.

There was Lin Weiwei's questioning after discovering the discovery, Zhang Shiyi's lonely figure, and the system's cold warning.

The next morning, Cheng Zhe was woken up by his alarm clock.

Looking at the time displayed on my phone screen, it was almost noon.

He struggled to get out of bed and began to tidy himself up.

As the appointed time approached, Cheng Zhe gazed at the apartment building in front of him.

"Just sit for a little while, and absolutely do not cross the line!"

Cheng Zhe silently repeated the instructions to himself before raising his hand and knocking on Zhang Shiyi's door.

The door opened quickly; almost the instant the knocking sound ended, Zhang Shiyi appeared.

Cheng Zhe's breath hitched, and he subconsciously took half a step back.

Only one thought remained in my mind: Go, go now.

Zhang Shiyi wore a light purple tank top that barely covered her shoulders, revealing her fair collarbone and neck.

She was wearing black stockings on her lower body, with her thighs covered by a camisole, making it difficult to tell what kind of pants she was wearing.

She exudes the charm and allure of a mature woman.

"You've arrived?" Zhang Shiyi's eyes lit up instantly, and she stepped aside to make way for the doorway.

His gaze instinctively avoided Zhang Shiyi's figure.

This was completely different from what he had expected. He thought it would be a typical home setting and a casual meal.

But the scene before me was far too ambiguous.

He could even smell the faint perfume on Zhang Shiyi, which was alluring enough.

Zhang Shiyi noticed his hesitation and asked with a hint of disappointment, "Is it because I'm dressed badly?"

As she spoke, she subconsciously adjusted the straps of her tank top, a hint of unease creeping into her eyes.

"No...no...I was just amazed by you."

He shook his head stiffly, walked in with heavy steps, and deliberately kept a distance from Zhang Shiyi.

Upon seeing him enter, the disappointment on Zhang Shiyi's face vanished instantly, replaced by a smile.

"Please sit down, I'll go bring out the last dish, it'll be ready soon."

Cheng Zhe nodded, sat down awkwardly in a chair at the dining table, placed his hands unconsciously on his knees, and dared not look around carelessly.

Soon, Zhang Shiyi came out of the kitchen carrying a plate of cola chicken wings and a bowl of soup, placing them in the center of the table: "These are all home-style dishes, have a taste."

The two sat facing each other, and for a moment the only sounds were the clatter of bowls and chopsticks.

Cheng Zhe lowered his head and shoveled rice into his bowl, occasionally picking up a piece of chicken wing. The taste was indeed good, but he didn't have much of an appetite.

"You're not angry that I was so abrupt in inviting you over for dinner, are you?"

Cheng Zhe looked up and found that Zhang Shiyi had put down her chopsticks and bowl, her bright eyes carefully observing him.

Just as Cheng Zhe was about to respond, a silky touch brushed against his ankle from under the table.

The sensation made him freeze, and he almost dropped the chopsticks.

He quickly looked up, but Zhang Shiyi remained focused on him, her expression calm, as if it were just an unintentional touch.

"No...no, it's just a bit sudden." He managed to squeeze out a sentence, quietly shifting his leg to the side.

He kept repeating to himself: It must have been unintentional; the distance was too narrow, and she just bumped into him by accident.

Cheng Zhe's heart skipped a beat. He gripped his chopsticks tightly, stared down at the rice in his bowl, and dared not look up at her again.

Just then, Zhang Shiyi suddenly spoke up, as if it were just casual conversation: "By the way, you and your girlfriend, your relationship must be going very well, right?"

Just as Cheng Zhe was about to respond, that touch came again, this time not a gentle rub, but rather a deliberate one.

Slowly rubbing upwards from his ankle, it massaged the muscles of Cheng Zhe's calf.

Feeling the aggressive touch, a thin layer of sweat instantly broke out on his back.

The inability to self-hypnotize anymore is "unintentional"—it's clearly intentional!

Just as he was about to say something, Cheng Zhe swallowed the words back.

I felt that directly pointing it out would be too awkward.

Torn between his feelings, he could only feign composure, his voice muffled: "Yes, she's fine. She's a very kind person."

After hearing Cheng Zhe's words, Zhang Shiyi suddenly chuckled softly, as if she had seen through his insincerity.

She rested her elbow on the table, propped her chin on her hand, and stared at Cheng Zhe: "Since you and your girlfriend have such a good relationship, why aren't you behaving yourself?"

Cheng Zhe didn't know how to answer this question. He couldn't very well say something about a system task, could he?

He could only stammer and lower his head.

Or perhaps...

Zhang Shiyi persisted, pressing further: "Is a sister better than a girlfriend?"

Cheng Zhe's face turned red, and he was about to say "No."

The sensation came from his leg, and Cheng Zhe's body instantly froze like a stone.

He subconsciously looked down, his gaze falling precisely on that little foot.

Her toes were slightly curled up, and you could see the red nail polish on them.

"Sister..." Cheng Zhe's voice trembled slightly. He tried to close his legs, but Zhang Shiyi didn't move at all.

Zhang Shiyi maintained her nonchalant demeanor, her tone languid: "Why aren't you saying anything? Did I hit the nail on the head?"

Cheng Zhe was completely at a loss and just sat stiffly in the chair.

He dared not look up at Zhang Shiyi, nor dared to move again, and could only let the heat surge from the soles of his feet to the top of his head.

With only one thought in his mind, he frantically chanted to the system, "System, when will this mission end? Hurry up, please..."
