The next morning, Zhang Cuiting got up exhausted and bumped into Cheng Zhe as soon as she entered the living room.

The two looked at each other, then tacitly looked away, their expressions calm, as if last night's intimacy was just a dream.

There was no need for any extra pleasantries between them. Zhao Ya was already clinging to Cheng Zhe, feeding him freshly baked bread.

Completely oblivious to the distance and tacit understanding between the two, she continued to cling to Cheng Zhe and act coquettishly.

Zhang Cuiting sat at the dining table, her fingers holding chopsticks but not moving them. Her eyes kept glancing at Cheng Zhe, but she would quickly look away when she met Zhao Ya's gaze.

His face was paler than usual, and he had an indescribable strangeness about him.

Zhao Ya quickly sensed something was wrong, and while biting into her toast, she tilted her head and asked, "Mom, why did you come home so late last night? And you were acting strange this morning, are you hiding something from me?"

Zhang Cuiting was filled with panic. She suddenly looked up, her eyes filled with terror. Her hand trembled, and the glass in her hand crashed to the ground with a "clatter".

Debris and water stains were scattered all over the ground. Zhang Cuiting stood frozen in place, her face even more pale.

Upon seeing this, Cheng Zhe immediately got up and walked to her side. Without looking at her, he simply squatted down and silently picked up the broken pieces on the ground.

While tidying up, she said to Zhao Ya in a natural tone, "Ya Ya, don't ask anymore. Auntie must be tired from looking for a job and staying up late these past few days."

"I think we should let the aunt rest at home for the next couple of days. Don't rush her to work. Let her get plenty of rest first."

Upon hearing this, Zhao Ya immediately pouted angrily, glaring at Cheng Zhe and complaining, "Why?! When I was staying at home before, you were always urging me to go out and find a job, complaining that I was just sitting at home doing nothing!"

"Now look at you, you care more about my mom than me! Whose boyfriend are you anyway?!"

Cheng Zhe paused in his work of tidying up the broken pieces, looked up and ruffled Zhao Ya's hair, coaxing her, "Don't be temperamental. You're young and have plenty of energy. It's only right that you go out and explore more."

"At your age, your aunt has to worry about making a living and looking for a job. She must be more tired than you. It's only right to let her rest for a few more days."

Hearing Cheng Zhe's words, Zhao Ya's resentment and jealousy dissipated considerably. She muttered a couple of times, "That seems to be true," and then stopped pressing the matter.

Zhang Cuiting, on the other hand, was already so embarrassed that she wanted to disappear. Her cheeks were burning, and her hands, hanging at her sides, unconsciously clenched.

Her eyes kept glancing at Cheng Zhe, her mind filled with the passionate scenes from last night. She was so lost in thought that she didn't even notice Cheng Zhe getting up after cleaning up the broken pieces.

Zhao Ya noticed this unusual behavior and put down her bread, asking curiously, "Mom, why are you staring at Cheng Zhe?"

"Is there something on his face?"

Zhang Cuiting snapped back to reality, met her daughter's questioning gaze, and instantly blushed, a sense of shame welling up inside her.

She hurriedly looked away, her voice trembling as she tried to deny it: "No, no, I just thought he cleaned it up so neatly, and I wanted you to learn from him so you wouldn't always be so clumsy."

Zhao Ya frowned, feeling that her mother's explanation was somewhat far-fetched, and her expression became flustered.

But then she thought, what could possibly happen between her own mother and her boyfriend whom she spends every day with?

She shook her head, not thinking about it anymore, picked up her bread, and started talking to Cheng Zhe about their weekend plans.

Not long after, Zhao Ya finished her breakfast, picked up her bag, said goodbye to the two, and went to work.

The moment the door closed, the tense atmosphere in the living room suddenly relaxed. Zhang Cuiting and Cheng Zhe almost simultaneously breathed a sigh of relief, exchanged a glance, and then hurriedly looked away.

Zhang Cuiting broke the silence first, deliberately lowering her voice: "Xiao Cheng, about last night... just pretend it never happened, forget about it."

Upon hearing this, Cheng Zhe deliberately raised an eyebrow at her, feigning confusion as he asked, "Last night? What happened? I don't remember?"

These words instantly made Zhang Cuiting blush, and she couldn't utter a complete sentence for a long time.

A wave of shame washed over her, and she bit her lip, "You...you stop pretending! It was...it was us last night..."

Before she could finish speaking, she found it too embarrassing to say anything more, and turned her face away in embarrassment, not daring to look Cheng Zhe in the eye.

Seeing her flustered expression, Cheng Zhe softened his tone, but still teased her: "Auntie, are you referring to those things we did together?"

"Stop talking!" Zhang Cuiting interrupted him abruptly, unable to bear the ambiguity and shame filling the room any longer.

She suddenly stood up, turned around and ran to her room, slamming the door shut and locking it quickly.

Cheng Zhe stood there, looking at the closed door, the smile in his eyes could no longer be hidden, and he chuckled softly.

He composed himself, picked up his briefcase, and headed out to work.

Three or four days later, in the evening after get off work, Cheng Zhe opened the car door and got into the driver's seat. Li Yanping, in the passenger seat, with her exquisite makeup, smiled meaningfully: "You're pretty punctual getting off work, aren't you?"

Cheng Zhe fastened his seatbelt and said in a flat tone, "Nothing much has been happening at work lately."

As soon as he finished speaking, he stepped on the gas, and the car slowly merged into the traffic, heading towards a budget hotel not far away.

The two didn't say much more throughout, but there was a tacit understanding between them.

Unbeknownst to them, not far behind, a black and white sedan maintained a respectful distance, with Wang Zhen holding a camera in the driver's seat.

The Mercedes-Benz stopped in front of the budget hotel. After Cheng Zhe and Li Yanping got out of the car and went into the hotel, Wang Zhen quickly found a secluded parking space and parked.

I followed them with my camera, hid behind a pillar in the hotel lobby, and clearly captured the scene of the two walking into the elevator side by side.

For the next three hours, Wang Zhen stood guard at the hotel entrance, smoking one cigarette after another, with cigarette butts piled up at his feet.

It wasn't until after 8 p.m. that Cheng Zhe and Li Yanping walked out of the hotel side by side.

Li Yanping's charm was undeniable; she would occasionally turn her head to talk to Cheng Zhe, who would nod occasionally in response.

Upon seeing this, Wang Zhen stared wide-eyed, gripping his camera tightly, his mouth full of jealousy and resentment.

He muttered under his breath, "That bastard Cheng Zhe, all the women he sleeps with are so beautiful!"

He squinted and carefully examined Li Yanping, becoming more and more attracted to her.

"This woman is young and charming, with a great figure; she's a top-tier beauty, no less than Zhang Shiyi!"

As soon as he finished speaking, he quickly raised his camera and kept pressing the shutter to capture the scene of the two of them coming out of the hotel.

He muttered to himself, "Hurry up and take more pictures, this time it's definitely a sure thing. Zhang Shiyi will absolutely not be able to stand it when she sees this!"

After Cheng Zhe turned and left, and Li Yanping entered the apartment building, Wang Zhen put away his camera and looked through the photos inside.

There are photos of the two people entering the hotel, profile pictures in the elevator, and scenes of them chatting downstairs; each one is impactful enough.

He couldn't help but chuckle softly, his voice full of smugness: "It's done! Zhang Shiyi definitely won't tolerate it when she sees this photo. This time it's a sure thing!"

The moment Li Yanping stepped into her home, the smile on her face vanished instantly.

Cheng Zhe didn't mention breaking up with Zhao Ya at all, clearly still reluctant to abandon that idiot Zhao Ya.

"Reluctant to let go? It's okay, I'll help you put an end to that thought." Li Yanping murmured to herself.

It seems it's time for Zhao Ya to witness their affair firsthand.
