The agreed-upon location was at the entrance to a glacial canyon. Looking around, one could see snow-capped mountains everywhere, a clear blue sky, dazzling sunlight, and intense ultraviolet radiation.

"According to the plan, we'll set up a temporary camp here first to acclimatize to the altitude, and then conduct another field survey." Qin Feng instructed his team members to set up tents and install energy shielding generators.

Wang Tian arrived at the edge of the canyon and looked inside. The star power within him was unusually active here, as if it had resonated with Kunlun in some way.

With his eyes closed, he could "see" a faint golden energy flowing in the air—it was the spiritual energy of heaven and earth left over from ancient times, much richer than the outside world.

"Ice Ferocious Beasts!" the Murong family elder said in a deep voice. "Guardian beasts are very common on the edge of Kunlun. They come in groups, are extremely ferocious, and their claws and teeth can crush metal and stone."

Three icy demonic beasts approached in a triangular formation, emitting low roars. One of them suddenly accelerated, charging towards the research assistant at an incredible speed!

"Watch out!" Three black steel needles shot out from the hands of the Nangong family elder, piercing the Ice Beast's eyes and throat respectively. However, the needles only sparked a few drops as they pierced its fur, failing to penetrate even an inch!

At the critical moment, Wang Tian made his move. He didn't use any fancy moves; he simply took a step forward, clenched his right fist, and punched the beast's head.

A silent punch was thrown. However, at that moment, the air seemed to freeze. The Frost Beast's body suddenly stiffened, and then, cracks appeared on its head! No blood splattered, but countless tiny ice shards were blown away by the wind.

The other two Ice Fiends let out a piercing scream and tried to escape. Wang Tian narrowed his eyes, his pupils swirling with starlight.

"Certainly."

Words became law. The two giant beasts instantly slowed tenfold, as if they were stuck in a swamp. Li Xuanfeng's sword light flashed and disappeared, two sword energies piercing through their bodies. The Ice Beasts fell silently to the ground, turning into ice crystals.

It took no more than five seconds.

Everyone fell silent. Although they already knew Wang Tian was strong, the clean and decisive instant kill still shocked them. Especially the "Fix" technique, which reached the level of a speech-based magic, far beyond ordinary martial arts.

"Let's search it." Wang Tian stepped forward, picked up three ice-blue crystal cores, and said, "The inner cores of the Ice Ferocious Beast contain pure ice-attribute energy. They can be used to refine Cold Pills or for cultivation."

Before he could finish speaking, the ground suddenly shook! Large swaths of snow collapsed from both sides of the canyon, and a snow wave like a tsunami swept in—it was an avalanche!

"Activate the barrier!"

A pale blue light curtain appeared, enveloping the entire camp. However, the avalanche was far larger than expected, covering the entire barrier almost in the blink of an eye.

In the darkness, the only sounds were the crunching of ice and snow as it was squeezed, and the hum of the machine running under overload.

A glint of light flashed in Wang Tian's eyes.

"Starfield, open!"

An invisible force field emanated from him, forcefully pushing aside all the snow within a radius of several dozen meters, creating a safe small space. Zhang Qingwei and Li Xuanfeng reacted extremely quickly, immediately surrounding him.

A cold glint flashed in Wang Tian's eyes as he crushed the instrument in his hand. They had only just arrived in Kunlun and had already received such a "greeting gift."

The expedition set off the morning after the avalanche, heading into the heart of the Kunlun Mountains.

Based on the map provided by the Eternal Life Society's "Ash," the group avoided three high-risk restrictions and chose a relatively safe path.

The icicles were translucent, with some distorted shadows faintly visible inside. Most strangely, there was no snow, no wind; the silence was eerie.

Wang Tian raised his hand and said, "Stop."

He walked over, squatted down, and touched the ground. A faint energy fluctuation emanated from his fingertips, like the beating of a heart.
