The Entertainment Industry in Turmoil: Young Actresses All Want to Rise to the Top
Chapter 17, "Love is Not Blind," has wrapped filming.
The day after returning to the set of "Love is Not Blind," filming was in full swing.
Shen Mo had just finished a scene and was sitting in the rest area to adjust himself, taking the opportunity to review the details of his performance in his mind.
Just then, he saw director Teng Huatao walking briskly towards the entrance of the studio, a warm smile on his face.
A short while later, he was seen walking back with a middle-aged man wearing gold-rimmed glasses and exuding a refined and composed demeanor.
"President Shen," Teng Huatao introduced the visitor warmly as he led him closer.
"Let me introduce you. This is Cao Huayi from New Classics Media. He is also one of the production companies for this film and a very important partner."
Upon hearing this, Shen Mo immediately stood up from his chair, a perfectly timed smile on his face.
Teng Huatao then turned to Cao Huayi, gestured to Shen Mo, and spoke with a tone of familiarity and admiration.
"President Cao, this is Shen Mo from Mohen Capital, the pillar of our film that I mentioned to you before."
"He's not only one of our investors, but he also personally took on the role, bringing Wang Xiaojian to life!"
"Mr. Shen, it's an honor to meet you!"
Cao Huayi immediately stepped forward, extending his right hand enthusiastically, his eyes filled with obvious appreciation and curiosity.
"Seeing is believing! I never expected Mr. Shen to be so young and outstanding. Not only does he have a keen eye for the capital market, but he is also so talented in acting."
"Director Teng has praised you to me countless times!"
Shen Mo calmly extended his hand and shook hands firmly with Cao Huayi, his attitude neither humble nor arrogant.
"Mr. Cao, you're too kind. Just call me Shen Mo. Director Teng, that's too kind. It's because the script is well-written and the director is excellent. I just tried my best to cooperate and portray the role well."
The two briefly shook hands, creating a harmonious atmosphere.
Teng Huatao added with a smile, "President Cao, President Shen is our team's treasure. With him around, I feel at ease."
Cao Huayi nodded repeatedly, his gaze lingering on Shen Mo for a moment, his smile becoming increasingly sincere.
"It seems I made the right choice visiting the set this time. I was fortunate to meet such a talented young man as President Shen."
"Mr. Cao, you flatter me," Shen Mo replied with a smile.
The three of them stood and exchanged a few pleasantries, their conversation revolving around the progress of the film's production and the actors' condition.
Cao Huayi's words and actions exuded the sophistication and tact of a seasoned producer, but Shen Mo could clearly sense that the other party's seemingly casual gaze was actually lingering more on him.
This visit to the set was just a pretext to "comfort the crew." His real purpose was to get to know himself, the somewhat mysterious head of Mohen Capital, through Director Teng's introduction.
"Mr. Shen," Cao Huayi said, getting to the point at the right moment. He took out a simply designed business card from the inside pocket of his suit and handed it over with both hands.
"We at New Classics Media have always been committed to creating high-quality film and television content, and we believe that we and Mohen will definitely have many things in common in the future."
"I look forward to having the opportunity to have in-depth discussions with you and to explore more collaborations."
Shen Mo accepted the business card with both hands, quickly scanning the information on it with his eyes. He then took his own business card and solemnly handed it back.
"Mr. Cao, you're too kind. I've heard a lot about New Classics Media's works, and their quality is undeniable."
He spoke sincerely, "Mohen is new to the arts and entertainment industry and still has much to learn from seniors like you."
"I also look forward to more collaborations with New Classics Media in the future."
Cao Huayi carefully put away the business card, his smile deepening.
"Then I won't disturb Mr. Shen's filming any longer. I wish the movie great success and look forward to hearing good news from you."
After seeing Cao Huayi off, Shen Mo stroked the still-warm business card in his hand, his eyes deep.
With Mohen's debut in the financial market and its investment portfolio, the number of "Cao Huayi"s actively seeking him out will only increase in the future.
Time flies, and more than half a month has passed quietly in the midst of intense and fulfilling filming.
With director Teng Huatao's shout, "CUT! Congratulations to Shen Mo, you've officially wrapped filming for 'Love is Not Blind'!"
Shen Mo's scenes have finished, but the crew still has more than half a month of filming scheduled.
Amid the commotion, Shen Mo, accompanied by his temporary assistant, pushed a pre-prepared trolley piled high with exquisitely packaged gift boxes.
He walked over to the staff member standing nearby and said, "Old Zhang, you've worked hard. This is just a small gift, nothing more, but thank you for taking care of me during this time."
Shen Mo smiled and handed over the gift box, accurately stating the recipient's name.
The lighting technician was taken aback and accepted the gift with a somewhat flattered air. He hadn't expected that this young man, who was both an investor and the lead actor, would actually remember the last name of a lighting technician like himself.
"Sister Liu, happy wrap-up! I hope we'll have the chance to work together again." Script supervisor Sister Liu accepted the gift with delight, her eyes even slightly reddening.
On set, these behind-the-scenes staff are often treated as background figures, and how many lead actors would so solemnly thank them for remembering their names?
And so, Shen Mo moved calmly through the crowd, from assistant director to ordinary makeup assistant, from sound engineer to production assistant in charge of ordering lunch boxes...
He greeted everyone by name, presented them with a thoughtful gift that wasn't expensive, and sincerely said "thank you for your hard work."
This unexpected respect and care deeply moved many staff members who were used to being ignored.
However, in the corner, there were a few temporary workers who had only been with the team for a day or two. Seeing that everyone else had gifts while they had nothing, they couldn't help but feel unbalanced and muttered under their breath.
"Tch, just putting on a show, isn't it?"
"Exactly, rich people only know how to put on this show..."
Their complaints weren't loud, but Lao Li, a member of the props team who was taking inventory of the props nearby, heard them clearly.
Old Li frowned, immediately turned around, and reprimanded in a low but stern voice.
"What do you kids know! If President Shen were just putting on a show, would he need to remember the names of us 'oddballs'?"
"What he gave wasn't just a gift, it was his heart and respect! Don't let your own dark heart make you see everyone else as black!"
The commotion caught Shen Mo's attention as he was about to leave. He quickly walked over and asked, "What's wrong? What happened?"
Old Li was a little embarrassed and was about to explain when Shen Mo had already understood the reason from the evasive eyes and empty hands of the group.
He showed no displeasure whatsoever; instead, an apologetic expression appeared on his face.
"It's my fault, it was my oversight, I didn't think it through." The sincere apology made the others a little uneasy.
Shen Mo then turned to Lao Li from the props team, took out a few banknotes from his wallet, and handed them over.
"Master Li, please take these guys out for a good meal. It's my way of apologizing to everyone and thanking them for their hard work on the last day of the film crew. Please let me treat them."
Old Li couldn't refuse, so he had no choice but to accept it, and the temporary workers were immediately blushing with embarrassment.
That evening, led by Lao Li, the group sat in a restaurant. After a few rounds of drinks, the man who had complained the loudest during the day held up his glass and said to Lao Li with a look of shame.
"Brother Li, we were wrong today...we misunderstood President Shen. He's a really loyal and righteous person."
On the set, after taking a lively group photo with all the staff, Shen Mo found Teng Huatao and several other key members of the production team.
"Director Teng, everyone, there's a lot of work piling up at the company that urgently needs to be dealt with, so I'll have to skip tonight's wrap party."
He raised a glass of beverage to everyone, saying, "But I promise, when our movie becomes a huge hit and we have a celebration banquet, I will definitely be there, and we'll drink until we drop!"
His reasons were reasonable and his attitude was so sincere that everyone naturally understood.
Amidst blessings and greetings of "Goodbye, President Shen," Shen Mo turned around decisively and walked out of his first film crew.
