Just then, a rapid knocking came from outside the secret chamber. It was the voice of a trusted maidservant whom Urna had arranged to guard outside the palace, her voice filled with panic: "Princess! Something terrible has happened! Prince Burte, along with Feng Kun and the Black Wolf Guard, has suddenly stormed into the palace, claiming to be searching for spies. They're already outside the palace gates!"

Princess Ulolan's expression changed drastically.

Lin Feng's heart skipped a beat. Had Börte arrived so quickly? Had he gotten wind of it, or did he have ulterior motives?

"Guards, quick, get out through the secret passage! Take the wooden box with you!" the princess urged, swiftly closing the mechanism of the wooden box, and the wall slid open.

"Princess, you..."

"I'm fine; they wouldn't dare do anything to me openly. You go quickly!" The princess pushed Lin Feng towards the entrance of the secret passage, her eyes filled with determination and urgency. "Remember, the jade pendant is entrusted to you! Take care!"

Lin Feng gave her a deep look, then without further hesitation, he slipped into the secret passage, the walls closing behind him.

Almost simultaneously, a rough opening of the door and Burte's arrogant shouts came from the outer hall of the palace:

"Urolan! Come out here! Someone saw a spy infiltrate your palace! I will find out the truth today!"

Suddenly, the door on the other side of the secret passage was flung open! A tall but staggering figure stumbled in, leaning against the doorframe. It was Urna, pale as a sheet, who had come despite her injuries!

She had obviously seen Prince Burte leading his men in, so she came through another passage. When she saw Lin Feng, a look of relief flashed in her eyes.

Urna said to Lin Feng, "Let's go! Hurry back to Ironwall City! I must share life and death with the princess."

"Let's go together! They won't make things too difficult for the princess, but you're different; they'll kill you!"

Before Ulna could react, Lin Feng had already swept her up in his arms! Ulna was already weak from her serious injuries, and when he suddenly picked her up, she cried out in surprise, almost dropping the scimitar from her hand.

"You..." An unnatural blush instantly rose on her pale face, both ashamed and anxious.

"Stop talking nonsense! Hold on tight!" Lin Feng shouted, grabbing her and rushing forward through the tunnel.

The tunnel had multiple entrances and exits. Lin Feng carried her and ran all the way, not knowing how long they had been walking.

Just when Lin Feng felt he was about to give up, a faint light suddenly appeared in the darkness ahead! The light seemed to be shining through a crack in the rock wall on the side.

There's light! There might be an exit!

Lin Feng's spirits lifted, and he struggled toward the light. Upon closer inspection, he discovered it was a narrow crevice in the rock, barely wide enough for one person to pass sideways.

He put Urna down and peered into the crevice.

Within the crevice, there seemed to be a hidden world. Although the light was dim, it was clear that the space was quite large.

"There might be a way out inside," Lin Feng said to Ulna, turning back to see that she was in a semi-conscious state, and he felt anxious. Without further hesitation, he picked up Ulna and squeezed in sideways.

The gap was short, and we passed through it quickly. Suddenly, the view opened up, revealing an irregularly shaped natural cave several meters in diameter.

Countless stalactites hung from the cave ceiling, and stalagmites stood tall on the ground. In the center of the cave was a small pool of water, the water of which was crystal clear and emitted a faint white mist; it was surprisingly warm!

More importantly, on the other side of the cave, there is a distinct, upward-sloping natural ramp that seems to lead to a higher place, with even a faint airflow blowing down from above.

It's an exit! At the very least, it's a pathway to upward mobility!

Lin Feng was overjoyed and carefully placed Urna on a relatively flat and dry stone platform by the pool.

"Ulna, wake up, we've found the way, there's a hot spring." Lin Feng gently patted her cheeks, then used the warm pool water to wet a cloth and wipe her face and hands.

"Why are you so kind to me, sir?" she suddenly asked.

Lin Feng paused in his actions and looked at her.

In the firelight, her honey-colored face lost its usual sharpness and wildness, gaining a rare tenderness and confusion. Her wet, long hair clung to her neck, and a ghostly blue light danced in her eyes, creating a breathtaking beauty.

"I told you, you are my comrade." Lin Feng looked away and continued to treat his wound.

"Is it just... because of comrades and gratitude?" Urna asked in a low voice, almost inaudible.

Lin Feng did not answer. In the cave, only the crackling of firewood and the gurgling of water could be heard.

After a long silence, Urna suddenly chuckled softly, a laugh tinged with relief and a hint of barely perceptible melancholy: "A daughter of the grasslands, she clearly distinguishes between gratitude and resentment. Urna will remember the kindness of the garrison commander. In this life... she will surely repay it."

One hour later.

"Get ready, we're going up." Lin Feng stood up.

"I'll carry you on my back," he said to Urna, turning around with an unquestionable air.

Urna silently walked behind Lin Feng and climbed onto his back. Lin Feng used strips of cloth to tie the two tightly together. After confirming that they were secure, he took a deep breath and began to climb up the slope.

After climbing for an unknown amount of time, the sound of the wind grew clearer, and we could even feel a distinct airflow rushing down from above. The slope gradually lessened, and a sliver of light appeared ahead!

Lin Feng's spirits lifted, and he quickened his pace. On the final stretch of almost vertical rock face, he grabbed a vine hanging from a crevice, leaped with all his might, and, carrying Urna, finally burst through the narrow opening!

Before them stretched a hillside strewn with jagged rocks, and in the distance, a range of mountains stretched out. They had somehow climbed their way up from an underground river to the surface, and it seemed they were on the mountainside of one of the mountains!
