If I made you a special forces soldier, would you become a terrestrial god?
Chapter 163 Dragon-Slaying Weapon? Old Cat Overjoyed!
The old cat's voice sounded exceptionally clear in the deathly silent rainforest camp.
The desperate men behind him held their breath, their eyes burning as they stared intently at the chilling holographic image in mid-air.
Fear and greed were intertwined wildly in their hearts.
"A wise choice."
The cold, electronic sound in the sky seemed to carry a hint of satisfaction.
"Five days later, we will deliver the 'goods' to the designated location. At that time, you will receive detailed coordinates and the contact code."
Have a pleasant hunt.
As soon as the words were spoken, the futuristic drone silently changed direction, accelerated instantly, and disappeared into the deep night, as if it had never existed.
Silence returned to the camp.
Only the crackling campfire illuminated the ever-changing expressions on everyone's faces, casting flickering light and shadow.
for a long time.
"Boss... this..." Lieutenant Ah Hu swallowed hard, his voice trembling. "What kind of thing is this? We've seen voodoo practitioners in Africa and people worshipping evil gods in South America, but none of them are as... sinister as this."
He shuddered. This thing didn't feel like superstition to him, but rather like technology—a chilling, bone-deep, and utterly irrational crushing force.
"Evil?"
Old Cat slowly turned around, his violent and dejected expression vanishing, replaced by an almost manic excitement.
He kicked over the campfire in front of him, sending sparks and ashes flying everywhere.
"I don't care what kind of methods they use! All I know is, with this thing!" He spread his arms wide, as if embracing the entire dark rainforest, "Forget avenging Minden's brother, Wuji, even if they asked me to go to the White House, sit on that oval table, and take a dump, I'd do it!"
This extremely vulgar remark acted like a shot of adrenaline, instantly igniting the nerves of everyone present.
Fear? What is fear compared to absolute power and boundless wealth!
They were a bunch of desperate people who risked their lives, not knowing whether they would live or die tomorrow!
Fortune favors the bold!
With such a god-like monster as a teammate, what wouldn't they dare to do?
"The boss's right! Let's fucking kill them!"
"Haha! I've long disliked those pretentious Boy Scouts from China! They stand so straight, like telephone poles. This is a good opportunity to loosen their muscles!"
"Damn it, the money that old bastard Minden gave me is enough to buy a castle in Europe! I'll hire a hundred young models and throw pool parties every day!"
Inside the camp, an even more frenzied, howling clamor erupted once again.
Old Cat looked at his men, whose fighting spirit had been rekindled, and nodded in satisfaction. He bent down, picked up a piece of still-burning charcoal from the ground, and on a tattered military map, marking the location of the Dragon Kingdom's southwestern border, he fiercely drew a blood-red X.
……
Five days later.
An abandoned airport in a tropical rainforest located at the junction of three countries.
The midday sun was so scorching it could melt the asphalt on the track, and the air was filled with the smell of rotting plants and rust.
Old Cat, leading his twenty most elite men, fully armed, lurked like venomous snakes in the waist-high grass surrounding the runway. Impatience and anticipation were etched on each of their faces; sweat trickled down their brows and into their eyes, stinging and painful.
Finally, a huge black dot appeared on the distant horizon.
A C-130 Hercules transport plane, without any markings, slowly descended amidst a massive roar of its engines, kicking up clouds of dust.
The heavy rear hatch opened, and instead of some mysterious figures in suits, a team of soldiers emerged, dressed in the latest combat uniforms of the US special forces, their faces obscured by full-coverage high-tech masks.
Their movements were perfectly synchronized, each step measured as if by a ruler, and they exuded a chilling aura that kept strangers at bay.
Old Cat felt a chill run down his spine; he knew that the other party was no ordinary person.
He gestured to his men, adjusted his equipment, and stepped out of the bushes.
"Code word, Vulture." A US soldier spoke coldly in perfect American English. His voice, amplified by a voice changer in his mask, was devoid of any human emotion.
"The prey is in the cage," the old cat replied in equally fluent English, but his eyes kept glancing into the dark cargo hold of the transport plane.
"The cargo is inside, five in total. Each box has an independent life support system and sedation device; this is the controller."
A soldier from Country M handed over a ruggedized military tablet computer. The screen displayed five independent control interfaces, which were shockingly simple, with only three options: "Hibernate," "Activate," and "Calm." Next to them were fluctuating curves representing vital signs.
"Remember, they are not your teammates, they are weapons. Do not awaken them from dormancy unless absolutely necessary. If they get out of control, you will bear the consequences." The other party's tone was less of a warning and more of a statement of fact.
Old Cat took the tablet; it was cold and heavy in his hand. He sneered inwardly.
arms?
Once they're on my territory, they'll be my brothers! My own brothers who will make me money and risk their lives!
Just then!
"Thump—!"
A dull, thud suddenly erupted from inside the cargo hold of the transport plane!
The heavy metal container, strong enough to withstand bullets, visibly bulged outwards in a large, menacing shape!
The group of fearless mercenaries behind Old Cat were so frightened that they all took a step back. One of them almost dropped his assault rifle, and the color drained from his face instantly.
The special forces soldiers from Country M, however, seemed to take it all in stride.
The leading soldier simply tapped a few times on the tablet.
All that could be heard from inside the container was a sickening crackling sound of electricity, followed by a suppressed growl filled with pain and rage.
Then, everything returned to calm.
"See them?" The M country soldier's tone was completely flat. "They're very aggressive and hungry. On the battlefield, they'll be your best helpers. But in normal times, it's best to let them sleep peacefully."
Old Cat looked at the deformed shipping container and swallowed hard.
He had no doubt that if this thing were to burst out right now, it could tear them all to shreds on the spot.
Soon, five huge shipping containers were hoisted onto several heavy trucks that were already prepared.
Without uttering a single unnecessary word, the special forces soldiers from Country M boarded the transport plane again.
The plane took off again and quickly disappeared into the horizon.
The entire abandoned airport was now empty except for Old Cat and his group, and the five trucks carrying the "Devil".
"Boss... what do we do now?" The adjutant's voice was trembling, and he felt his calves cramping.
"What should we do?"
The old cat's eyes gleamed with a greedy light that was almost twisted.
He walked up to a shipping container, reached out, and gently, almost reverently, stroked the cold metal casing, which still carried a trace of warmth from the impact.
He seemed to have already sensed the world-destroying power contained within the monster inside.
"Drive! Back to camp!"
The old cat suddenly turned around and hissed at his men.
"Get all the brothers ready! Load up the bullets, hang the grenades! I'm going to make my hands on Mr. Minden's money!"
He couldn't wait to see what kind of terrified, panicked expressions those so-called "elite border guards" would have when he appeared on the border of the Dragon Kingdom with these five "gods of death"!
He remembered the photo of the Chinese soldier named "Leng Feng" from the intelligence report.
A somewhat naive and inexperienced young man.
A cruel smile tugged at the corners of the old cat's mouth.
He had already decided that once he caught that kid, he wouldn't kill him immediately.
He wanted his five "pets" to tear his comrades, his camp, and his beliefs to shreds, piece by piece, right before his eyes!
He wanted to make that kid watch helplessly as everything he was protecting vanished in the deepest despair and fear, and then personally twist his head off!
"Leng Feng..."
The old cat licked its chapped lips, its eyes filled with bloodthirsty madness.
"The game has begun."
