Chapter 173 A Bloody Battle, the Tyrant's Defense Against Heaven!

Old Ma's tearful report, thick with blood, struck the hearts of every member of the Wolf Warriors like a heavy blow. Sacrifice! Such a tragic sacrifice! Wang Hao, Li Jun, Xiao Zhang, Xiao Liu, A Yong… those vibrant names, now reduced to a cold reality, scattered amidst the ruins of the dilapidated outpost, trampled by those five giant beasts.

"Full firepower! Fight to the death!" Wang Zhan roared, his voice filled with deep grief and indignation. His Type 95 rifle was almost crushed under the weight of the gunfire, bullets pouring out and weaving into an impenetrable net of fire, heading straight for the five tyrants who were staggering forward in the hail of bullets.

The newly formed Wolf Warrior Squadron possessed unexpectedly fierce firepower. In addition to their Type 95 assault rifles, they were equipped with three squad automatic weapons, six rocket launchers, and an astonishing number of grenades. Such firepower could level even a small fortress. However, the five behemoths, with their massive bodies, withstood all the attacks.

"Thump! Thump! Thump!" The tyrants roared, their massive bodies swaying under the impact of bullets, their bluish-gray skin oozing a foul-smelling liquid. They did not fall, nor did their speed of advance decrease. Their scarlet eyes were fixed on the Wolf Warrior Squadron, which was firing the most intensely, filled with pure brutality and a bloodlust.

"Damn it! What are they?!" a machine gunner roared, his eyes bloodshot. His bullets rained down, but hitting the Tyrant was like striking an impenetrable iron wall. Most bullets ricocheted off, and a few, by sheer luck, managed to penetrate its flesh, drawing a spray of blood. Muzzle flashes danced, hot spent casings splattered, striking the soldiers' helmets with a crisp clang, but failing to budge the Tyrant in the slightest. An unprecedented sense of powerlessness gripped the soldiers' hearts. This enemy surpassed all their combat experience.

"Rocket launchers! Bomb them!" Wang Zhan immediately gave the order when he saw that conventional firepower was only slightly damaging to the Tyrant.

"Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!" Six rockets, trailing long flames, sent six fire dragons hurtling towards the five-headed tyrant.

"Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!" The deafening explosions erupted almost simultaneously on the tyrants. Flames shot into the sky, smoke billowed, and the massive shockwaves sent rubble and debris flying. A glimmer of hope ignited in the hearts of the Wolf Warriors. But when the smoke cleared, the scene before them plunged them into an icy abyss.

The five tyrants, though their bodies were charred black and their skin cracked, still stood tall. One of them had been hit in the chest by two rockets, leaving a hole the size of a washbasin, through which non-human internal organs could be seen writhing. Yet, at the edges of the wound, bluish-gray granulation tissue was growing and coiling at a visible speed! In less than half a minute, the hole was mostly healed! The charred flesh quickly receded, and new tissue connected the torn parts with astonishing resilience, as if their bodies had no concept of "fatal wounds." They breathed heavily, emitting a low, guttural sound—a signal of enrage.

"This...this is really a monster? Immortal?!" a team member cried out in despair, his voice almost cracking. The gun in his hand felt as heavy as if it were filled with lead.

"Scatter! Don't engage in direct combat! Fight and retreat!" Wang Zhan's voice was filled with resentment and helplessness. He knew this was an enemy they could not confront head-on. A direct confrontation would only lead to death.

"Communications officer! Transmit the live feed to command! Requesting backup! Quickly!" Wang Zhan shouted to the communications officer beside him.

The communications officer, Xiao Wu, his hands trembling, pointed the tactical camera on his helmet at the five tyrants. He knew the uproar this video would cause once it reached command. It was beyond the realm of current human understanding; it was a nightmare straight out of a science fiction movie.

The five tyrants, though not fatally wounded by the rocket attack, were clearly enraged. They let out deafening roars, their massive bodies charging towards the Wolf Warriors with a terrifying speed disproportionate to their size! The ground trembled as they ran, sending debris flying, as if a pack of prehistoric beasts had awakened.

"Suppressive fire! Don't stop! Snipers! Prioritize the eyes!" Wang Zhan calmly commanded. He knew the Tyrant's head was its weak point. But these behemoths seemed to have learned to protect themselves, using their thick forearms to fiercely protect their heads, making them impenetrable to rifle bullets.

Sniper Li lay prone behind cover, his eyes fixed on the head of a Tyrant. He knew this was the only opening. Holding his breath, he searched for a fleeting opportunity through the gaps in the Tyrant's arms. His index finger tightened on the trigger, sweat blurring his vision, but he remained as steady as a rock, his body without the slightest tremor. On the battlefield, even the slightest hesitation could cost you everything.

"Bang!" The gunshot rang out.

The bullet pierced the gap precisely and struck the tyrant in the eye socket.

"Roar—!" The tyrant let out an even more piercing roar, its massive body shuddering as the eye it had been struck instantly burst open, splattering a foul-smelling, bluish-gray liquid. It thrashed its arms in agony, its enormous fist slamming into the ruins beside it, shaking the earth.

"It's working!" Wang Zhan's eyes lit up. This was the only attack so far that had caused significant damage to them. "All firepower, prioritize the eyes!"

The Wolf Warriors immediately adjusted their attack direction, unleashing a hail of bullets towards the Tyrant's head. The muffled thud of bullets striking bone, the explosion of flesh and the stench of decay filled the battlefield.

However, the tyrant's regenerative abilities once again exceeded their expectations. His shattered eye was visibly wriggling and regenerating! Though slower than repairing a hole in his chest, it was stubbornly healing. Grayish-blue granulation tissue coiled in his eye socket, blood vessels regrowth—even a blurry outline was enough to cast a shadow over the hearts of the Wolf Warriors.

"Retreat! Retreat completely! Don't linger!" Wang Zhan issued the retreat order again. He knew that even if he blew out their eyes, it would only delay them temporarily, not kill them. This was not a fair fight at all.

The Wolf Warriors fought their way back, using the complex terrain of the ruined outpost to outmaneuver the Tyrants. However, the Tyrants' physical abilities far exceeded their expectations. They were incredibly fast, incredibly strong, and even their sense of smell and hearing were phenomenal. They seemed to be able to pinpoint the scent of every Wolf Warrior, making it difficult to escape even when hiding deep within the ruins. Every time a wall collapsed, every time a boulder flew, their living space shrank.

"Pfft!" As a team member retreated, he was grazed by the giant claw of a tyrant. His entire right arm was torn apart by the terrifying impact, and flesh and blood flew everywhere! His screams stopped abruptly, and his body collapsed to the ground, leaving only crimson bloodstains spreading on the rubble.

"Ah—!" The scream echoed through the night sky. The sound was heart-wrenching.

"You bastard!" Wang Zhan's eyes widened in fury. He turned around, unleashing full firepower from his Type 95 rifle, forcing the tyrant, which was about to pounce on the wounded team member, back again. The bullets struck its rough surface, producing a teeth-grinding scraping sound.

"Medics! Quick! Save them!" he roared, his voice filled with unprecedented urgency. But the medics were also struggling in dire straits, barely able to save themselves.

The tyrants' attack was completely beyond imagination. They no longer sought a single kill, but instead used their massive bodies and terrifying strength to wantonly destroy everything in the outpost. Like the most professional demolition crew, they leveled all the bunkers, fortifications, and even dilapidated buildings. The remaining ruins collapsed with a roar under their immense power, raising clouds of dust.

The Wolf Warriors' operational space was gradually compressed. Their ammunition was also being consumed rapidly; each bullet felt so heavy, yet they had no choice but to fire.

"Captain! We're running out of ammunition!" a team member shouted, his eyes red. Gunfire was sparse, and sporadic bursts of fire were no longer enough to provide effective suppressive fire.

"Damn it!" Wang Zhan gritted his teeth. He knew that if this continued, they would eventually be worn down to death by these five giant beasts. He glanced behind him at the veterans hiding behind cover, their bodies wrapped in blood-stained bandages, then looked at his comrades lying lifeless in pools of blood. The anger in his chest burned to its peak.

He pulled out a grenade from his waist, bit off all the pins in one go, and roared at the five tyrants, "For my comrades! For my country! Die, all of you!"

He threw the grenade with all his might, then turned and rushed towards his wounded teammates. He was determined to fight with all his might to give them even the slightest chance of survival.
