If I made you a special forces soldier, would you become a terrestrial god?
Chapter 66 Wolf Fang gets beaten up, He Lü is dumbfounded!
At midnight, a simulated red-blue force-on-force exercise was in full swing at the Wolf Fang Special Operations Brigade of the Southeast Military Region. In the brightly lit Red Force command post, Brigade Commander He Zhijun and Chief of Staff Fan Tianlei stared intently at the sand table, their brows furrowed, occasionally whispering to each other. Their Red Force was being thoroughly thwarted by a cunning infiltration force from the Blue Force.
"Reporting to the brigade commander, a small Blue Force team has infiltrated Sector C and successfully destroyed two of our forward outposts!" came an anxious voice from the communicator.
"Reporting to the brigade commander, an anomaly has been detected in Sector B! Our night vision equipment has captured a blurry, extremely fast-moving afterimage, suspected to be an elite Blue Force squad!"
He Zhijun slammed his hand on the sand table, his beard almost twisted with anger.
"These bastards! When did their infiltration skills become so strong? Old Fan, are you hiding some greenhorn recruits from me again?"
Fan Tianlei smiled wryly. He knew the true capabilities of his men; they certainly didn't have that kind of ability.
"Brigade Commander, I feel like something's off with the Blue Team this time. Their tactical style is completely different; it feels like they've changed the entire team."
Just as the two were arguing, ten thousand meters above the ground, three figures silently tore through the night, heading straight for the ground. Su Chen went first, his movements light and agile, like a falling leaf, adjusting his posture in the gale. Gao Dazhuang followed closely behind, his burly body drawing a straight trajectory in the air, like a heavy bomb. Lei Kaihua, on the other hand, swayed from side to side like a nimble ape, excitedly surveying the brightly lit Wolf Fang base below.
Without the restraint of parachutes or the disturbance of air currents, they were enveloped only in a layer of internal energy aura, barely perceptible to the naked eye, skillfully dissipating the immense potential energy of their descent. The ground rapidly magnified before their eyes—kilometers, hundreds of meters, ten meters…
Bang!Bang!Bang!
With three barely audible thuds, the three landed steadily in a training forest on the outskirts of the Wolf Fang base, as if by magic. The withered leaves beneath their feet rustled slightly, but made no sound whatsoever.
"Brigadier, what's our plan now?" Lei Kaihua asked in a low voice, his tone full of eagerness.
Su Chen glanced around, a slight smile playing on his lips: "According to the exercise rules, the Blue Team wins by decapitating the Red Team's commander."
"Alright! Capture Old He alive!" Lei Kaihua roared, his figure blurring as he transformed into a phantom and rushed into the depths of the forest. Gao Dazhuang grunted and followed closely behind, his steps steady yet swift, each stomp carrying an indescribable sense of power.
He Zhijun's command post was located deep within the base, with layers upon layers of outer defenses, numerous sentry posts, and comprehensive electronic surveillance. But to Su Chen and his companions, all of this was as if it were non-existent.
Lei Kaihua moved with unpredictable agility, dodging all infrared and acoustic detectors with agility. He nimbly vaulted over the three-meter-high wall, landing silently. A fully armed Red Army patrolman was about to turn around when he felt a numbness in the back of his neck, his body went limp, and he collapsed without even having time to utter a sound.
Gao Dazhuang was even more direct; he bumped into several laser-triggered sensor lines, and the alarm instantly pierced the night sky.
"Enemy attack!"
"Quick! Intruder detected in Sector C!"
The alarm blared, and countless Red Army soldiers rushed to the scene.
Gao Dazhuang ignored him, circulating his inner energy, his body glowing with a faint golden light. A red team elite with a gun charged towards him. Without thinking, the red team elite threw a punch, slamming it hard into Gao Dazhuang's chest.
"Bang!"
With a muffled thud, the elite soldier felt as if he had crashed into an indestructible steel wall. The powerful recoil almost displaced his internal organs, causing him to drop his rifle and fly backward, crashing into several teammates behind him and falling into a heap with screams.
Gao Dazhuang didn't move an inch; he didn't even throw a punch, simply taking the blows with his chest. He grinned, like a tiger unleashed from its cage, and charged into the crowd.
"Get out of my way, all of you!"
With a sweeping kick, the powerful force sent several soldiers flying, crashing into the wall with loud thuds. Then came another punch, this time imbued with internal energy. The mere gust of wind grazed a soldier, and the man's face flushed red, he coughed up blood, and collapsed like a sack of potatoes.
Inside the command center, He Zhijun and Fan Tianlei were dumbfounded as they watched the live feed on the screen.
"What the hell is this?!" Fan Tianlei slammed his fist on the table and stood up. He saw Gao Dazhuang moving through the scene as if it were empty, all attacks were ineffective against him, and every move he made carried a world-destroying power. It was beyond the realm of humanity.
"Golden Bell Shield... Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill..." He Zhijun muttered to himself, his expression becoming extremely complex. He recalled eight years ago, when the young commander Su Chen had revealed just the tip of the iceberg to him. But the scene before him was more than a hundred times stronger than back then.
"Bang!"
The heavy alloy doors of the command post collapsed with a deafening roar. Amidst the billowing smoke and dust, Lei Kaihua and Gao Dazhuang strode in like two demon gods.
"Old He! Long time no see!" Lei Kaihua took off his tactical mask, revealing his familiar smiling face, though there was a hint of smugness in his smile.
"Decapitation successful!" Gao Dazhuang announced in a muffled voice, then pointed to He Zhijun behind him.
He Zhijun stared at the two men, his mouth opening and closing repeatedly, unable to utter a single word for a long time. He looked at the collapsed alloy gate on the ground, then at his elite special forces soldiers who had been so easily defeated, and felt as if his worldview was about to crumble.
"You guys..." He Zhijun finally found his voice, but his tone was filled with disbelief, "What...what kind of evil kung fu have you been practicing?"
"Evil technique?" Lei Kaihua laughed loudly, pointing to his forehead, which was almost unharmed. It was the spot where he had been hit by a Wolf Fang sniper, without even a white mark.
"Old He, this isn't some evil skill! This is a divine skill taught to us by the brigade commander!"
Just then, Su Chen slowly walked into the command post. He had a faint smile on his face, his steps were unhurried, and there wasn't a speck of dust on his clothes, as if he had just come for a stroll.
"Old He, long time no see." Su Chen's voice was as calm as it had been back then, but now carried a deep and dignified air.
He Zhijun and Fan Tianlei turned their heads at the same time, and the moment they saw Su Chen, their bodies trembled violently.
Su Chen was dressed in civilian clothes, but his restrained yet profound aura was as unfathomable as the ocean. What shocked them even more was the star of war on Su Chen's shoulder!
Major General!
He Zhijun and Fan Tianlei felt as if they had been struck hard by a heavy hammer. Eight years had passed, and the once naive yet sharp-witted young man had grown into a commanding officer with the rank of general on his shoulders!
"Major General Su...!" He Zhijun snapped to attention and gave a perfect military salute. Fan Tianlei followed suit.
Su Chen waved his hand, signaling them to relax.
"Old He, we're here this time to give you and Wolf Fang a little 'spice'." He pointed to the Wolf Fang members still groaning outside the command post, his voice laced with laughter. "The exercise is over now. As for your soldiers..."
He paused, his tone becoming calm yet carrying an undeniable air: "We need more real-world experience."
He Zhijun smiled bitterly. He looked at himself being easily "beheaded" and his elite troops being "slaughtered," and he had no temper left.
"Major General Su is right," he exclaimed sincerely. "Eight years have passed, and the soldiers you trained are truly... an eye-opener."
Su Chen looked around, his gaze sweeping over the command post that Gao Dazhuang and Lei Kaihua had "damaged," as well as the Wolf Fang team members lying haphazardly on the ground outside.
"Old He, your soldiers are pretty good, but they lack experience." He walked to the sand table, pointed to the map, and said, "I just watched your exercise. Your tactical thinking is a bit outdated and lacks flexibility. The outside world has changed rapidly in recent years, and you can't keep working in isolation."
He Zhijun and Fan Tianlei's expressions hardened; they knew Su Chen was telling the truth.
"Major General Su, we, the Wolf Fang, are ready to await your guidance at any time!" He Zhijun said earnestly, showing genuine respect for Su Chen.
Su Chen nodded, a slight smile playing on his lips: "Guidance? No rush. We're here for something more important."
His gaze swept over He Zhijun and Fan Tianlei's still puzzled face, with a meaningful look.
