Rejecting Tsinghua and Peking Universities: I Will Lead Harbin Institute of Technology to World Lead
Chapter 63 Aircraft Carrier Blueprint Shocks High-Ranking Officials
"Brother Zhao, let's go to the Chinese Academy of Sciences."
After leaving the hospital building and getting into the car, Lin Feng only said one sentence.
His voice was calm, yet carried an undeniable resolve. Shen Moran was out of danger; her recovery could now be handled by professionals and her family. He, however, had more important things to do.
"Yes, Mr. Lin."
Zhao Weiguo didn't ask a single question and immediately started the engine. The black sedan drove out of the hospital and merged into the afternoon traffic of Beijing.
Forty minutes later, the car stopped outside the gate of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Towering gray walls, imposing guard posts, and armed guards standing like statues.
Lin Feng got out of the car, followed closely by Zhao Weiguo.
The two walked toward the gate, but were immediately stopped by the guards.
"Please show your identification or appointment record." The guard's voice was mechanical and cold.
Lin Feng had no identification. Although he had participated in several national-level projects, his identity information was classified as top secret and would not appear in any regular systems.
He took out the specially made phone and dialed a number known to only a very few people.
The phone was answered after only one ring.
"Professor Chen, this is Lin Feng." He got straight to the point. "I'm outside the Chinese Academy of Sciences right now. I've completed my new research and need to see you immediately."
There was a two-second silence on the other end of the phone.
It wasn't hesitation, it was shock.
"New research?" Old Chen's voice was filled with disbelief and urgency. "Wait... no, just wait where you are, I'll have my assistant come get you right away! No, I'll do it myself..."
"Mr. Chen, given your special status, it would be better if your assistant came," Lin Feng interrupted him. "I'll wait at the main entrance."
"Okay! Okay! Ten minutes, no, five minutes!" Old Chen hung up the phone.
Lin Feng put away his phone and looked at the guard: "Wait a moment, someone will come to pick you up."
The guard was skeptical, but seeing his calm demeanor and the unusual cell phone in his hand, he didn't ask any more questions, but simply remained vigilant.
In fact, only four minutes had passed.
A car sped into the courtyard and screeched to a halt in front of the gate. A young man in his early thirties jumped out, dressed in a white shirt and black trousers, wearing thin-rimmed glasses; his expression was hurried but his competence was undeniable.
He strode up to Lin Feng, his gaze quickly sweeping over the two of them before finally settling on Lin Feng.
"Are you Mr. Lin?" His tone was polite, but scrutinizing. "I'm Mr. Chen's assistant, my surname is Xiao."
"Hello Assistant Xiao, I'm Lin Feng." Lin Feng extended his hand.
The moment their hands clasped, Assistant Xiao's expression subtly changed—he recognized the phone, and even more so, he recognized the seemingly ordinary but actually specially made watch on Lin Feng's wrist, which contained multiple positioning and encryption chips. These were the hallmarks of personnel with the highest level of security.
"Mr. Chen is already waiting for you in his office." Assistant Xiao stepped aside. "Please come with me, comrade..."
"He's with me," Lin Feng said.
Assistant Xiao hesitated for a moment, but remembering Old Chen's instructions, he nodded.
The car drove through the wide, tree-lined avenue of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, passing by buildings that looked ordinary but were actually heavily guarded.
We've arrived at the main building.
Assistant Xiao led the two through three access control gates, each requiring a card swipe, password, and iris scan verification. The corridor was covered with thick carpet, completely absorbing the sound of footsteps; it was so quiet that they could hear their own heartbeats.
The elevator goes directly to the top floor.
The door opened, revealing an even more solemn corridor. Deep red wooden panels lined the walls, with a warm yellow wall lamp every ten meters. There were no signs or markers, but Lin Feng knew this floor was the core decision-making area of the entire Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Assistant Xiao stopped in front of a heavy solid wood door and knocked gently three times.
"Come in," came Old Chen's voice from inside.
The door opened.
The office was large, but not luxurious. One wall was a floor-to-ceiling bookshelf filled with various professional books and file boxes; the other wall was a floor-to-ceiling window that overlooked most of the Chinese Academy of Sciences campus. In the center was a large solid wood desk, behind which sat an elderly man with gray hair.
It was Elder Chen.
"Mr. Chen." Lin Feng entered the office and bowed slightly.
"Sit down, please sit down." Old Chen stood up, walked around the desk, and personally led him to the sofa area. This usually stern and unsmiling scientific giant had an undisguised smile on his face at this moment. "Xiao Feng, you came to Beijing so suddenly without giving me any advance notice."
"It's urgent." Lin Feng sat down on the sofa, while Zhao Weiguo consciously stepped outside the door to wait with Assistant Xiao.
Old Chen sat down opposite him and personally brewed two cups of tea. The sound of the tea being poured into the cups was exceptionally clear in the quiet office.
"You said on the phone... that the new research is complete?" Old Chen put down the teapot, his eyes fixed intently on Lin Feng. "What's the research direction?"
Lin Feng did not answer immediately. He put down his teacup, took out the black USB drive from his pocket, and placed it on the coffee table.
The titanium alloy casing gleams with a cool luster under the light.
"Mr. Chen, over the past few months, I've conducted a systematic study of aircraft carriers." Lin Feng's voice was calm, but every word struck like a hammer blow. "Now, the theoretical phase is complete. Here is the full set of technical data."
The air in the office seemed to freeze.
Old Chen's hand froze in mid-air, the teacup hovering at his lips, and he stood there stiffly.
"An aircraft carrier?" His voice was a little hoarse. "Lin Feng, do you... do you know what kind of project you're talking about?"
"I know." Lin Feng looked directly into his eyes. "A nuclear-powered electromagnetic catapult aircraft carrier, with a full-load displacement of 120,000 tons, all-electric propulsion, and integrated stealth design..."
He rattled off all the keywords in one breath.
Every word was like a depth charge, stirring up a tidal wave in Old Chen's heart.
"Lin Feng!" Old Chen slammed down his teacup, spilling a few drops of tea. "You must understand, this isn't ordinary research! Aircraft carriers are crucial national assets, symbols of a country's comprehensive national strength! The Free Nation's blockade and provocations at sea have been a constant source of frustration for the higher-ups, but what we lack isn't just money, it's technology!"
He stood up and paced back and forth in his office, his emotions running high: "We tried to import technology, we tried to imitate it, but the core technologies were strictly blocked. Materials, power systems, catapults, carrier-based aircraft... every single aspect was an insurmountable barrier! And now you're telling me that you, all by yourself, completed the entire theoretical system?"
"Yes," Lin Feng replied with only two words.
He stood up, walked to the coffee table, picked up the USB drive, and handed it to Old Chen: "All the data is here. From the ship's structural mechanics model to the nuclear reactor miniaturization scheme; from the power distribution algorithm of electromagnetic catapults to the material formula of stealth coatings. A total of 37,000 files, 460 core technology modules."
Mr. Chen took the USB drive, his hands trembling slightly.
It wasn't doubt, but rather that he knew this young man had never boasted. From spaceplanes to lithography machines and anti-cancer drugs, every achievement he made revolutionized the entire field.
But this time is different.
This is an aircraft carrier.
It is a mobile territory, a steel Great Wall at sea.
"How much...how much have you completed?" Old Chen's voice lowered.
"All of them," Lin Feng said. "Theoretically, as long as we follow this plan, we can build our first large aircraft carrier with completely independent intellectual property rights within two to three years."
Two to three years.
This number made Mr. Chen's heart pound.
He walked to his desk, turned on his computer, and inserted a USB drive. A multi-layered encryption verification interface immediately popped up on the screen. Lin Feng stepped forward and entered three sets of 36-digit dynamic passwords.
The folder is open.
Mr. Chen opened the first file – “Ship Structure Strength Analysis Report”.
He scrolled the mouse rapidly, his gaze sweeping over the complex formulas and 3D models. Although he wasn't a naval engineering expert, as an authority in materials science, he could immediately discern the rigor and sophistication of these calculations.
Old Chen opened another folder—"Energy Management Scheme for Electromagnetic Catapult Systems." This time he looked at it for even longer, his brow furrowing and relaxing intermittently, his fingers tapping unconsciously on the table.
Five minutes later, he closed the file, leaned back in his chair, and let out a long sigh.
"Lin Feng." His gaze towards the young man had completely changed, now filled with almost awe. "Do you know what it would mean if all of this could be achieved?"
"It means that we can protect our interests and people anywhere at sea." Lin Feng's answer was simple, yet weighty.
Old Chen stood up and walked to the window.
Outside the window, the campus of the Chinese Academy of Sciences is quiet and solemn under the sunlight.
He picked up the red telephone on his desk and pressed the shortcut key that only the top management could use.
"It's me, Chen Jixian." His voice was more serious than ever before. "Immediately activate a Taishan-level emergency meeting. Attendees: all academicians of the Naval Equipment Research Institute, the chief engineer of the China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, the core team of the Nuclear Power Research Institute, relevant experts in aerospace systems... Yes, now."
After hanging up the phone, he turned to look at Lin Feng.
"You can rest here for a while. I've gathered all the top experts in the relevant fields in the country. See you in the conference room in two hours." He paused. "At that time, I need you to explain this blueprint in front of everyone."
"Understood." Lin Feng nodded.
Old Chen walked up to him and patted him heavily on the shoulder: "Young man, this time... you're going to change the fate of this country again."
After saying that, he strode out of the office, his footsteps echoing hurriedly in the corridor.
Lin Feng sat back down on the sofa, picked up the slightly cooled tea, and took a small sip.
He knew that the next two hours would be the calm before the storm.
After the storm, no one will be able to stop this country from heading towards the sea.
