The Prodigal Son

Although Xu Zhouke didn't like Qin Yu very much, and many people in the Confucian Temple Academy were also hostile towards Qin Yu, Xu Zhouke still gathered the students and teachers of the Confucian Temple Academy to their discussion hall because Qin Yu had come with an imperial decree.

Qin Yu looked up and saw a vast expanse of dark clouds.

It seems there are more people at the Confucian Temple than before.

Qin Yu stood on the circular platform in the center of the discussion hall and looked around at the people sitting around it.

"I believe Lord Xu has already made the purpose of summoning you here clear, so I won't bother to repeat myself!"

"I know many people are hostile towards me! To be honest, I also look down on you pedantic scholars from the Confucian Temple and Academy!"

As Qin Yu spoke loudly, the people from the Confucian Temple and Academy looked at him with even more hostility.

Originally, because Qin Yu insulted the literary sage Tao Gao and beat up the students of the Confucian Temple and Academy outside the Qin Mansion, many people in the Confucian Temple and Academy regarded Qin Yu as a spiritual enemy.

Now, Qin Yu has once again made outrageous remarks in public at the Confucian Temple and Academy, publicly insulting everyone there, which makes them even more disgusted with him.

If it weren't for Qin Yu's identity and the presence of the burly Qi Dachui beside him, they probably would have already rushed up and given Qin Yu a friendly greeting with their fists and feet.

However, faced with the angry gazes of the crowd, Qin Yu not only did not restrain himself at all, but instead became even more outrageous.

"In my opinion, the people at the Confucian Temple and the Imperial Academy are a bunch of good-for-nothings, good for nothing and good for nothing!"

"You are incapable of governing the country with your words, nor can you defend it with your military might! Aside from being quick-witted, you have absolutely no redeeming qualities!"

Hearing Qin Yu's insulting words, everyone was immediately enraged.

"Qin Yu!"

A student, ignoring those pulling him back, stood up, his eyes blazing with fury as he glared at Qin Yu: "Even if you have rendered some service to the court, the students of my Confucian Temple Academy will not allow you to insult them!"

"You're not happy about it, are you?"

Qin Yu coldly looked at the students, "You are nothing but a bunch of scraps eliminated by the imperial examinations. When Lord Su was selecting students for official positions at the Confucian Temple and Academy, none of you were chosen! You are nothing but a group of losers who have failed time and time again!"

"you……"

The student was so angry at Qin Yu's words that he trembled all over, pointing at Qin Yu with a shaky hand, but he couldn't utter a complete sentence.

He wanted to refute Qin Yu, but he didn't know how.

Simply because what Qin Yu said was true!

They failed to achieve top honors in the imperial examinations!

The imperial court made an exception and selected talented individuals from the Confucian temples and academies to serve as officials; they were able to be chosen.

Although Qin Yu's words were harsh, they were indeed losers who had failed repeatedly.

"See? You can't even refute me, so what are you all capable of?"

Qin Yu's face was full of disdain. "His Majesty ordered me to come to the Confucian Temple and Academy to select talents, but I have no idea what talents the Confucian Temple and Academy have! As for you bunch of good-for-nothings, if it weren't for His Majesty's order, I wouldn't even bother to give you a second glance!"

"Lord Qin!" Xu Zhouke could no longer bear Qin Yu's humiliation and glared at him angrily: "I will report today's events truthfully to His Majesty!"

"Go quickly!"

Qin Yu sneered, "You might think I'm humiliating you! But you're wrong! You bunch of trash, do you even deserve to be humiliated by me? Fine, I'll give you the simplest chance to prove you're not trash!"

"How can you prove it?"

As soon as Qin Yu finished speaking, some students who couldn't contain themselves began to ask questions.

Although they knew it was likely a trap set by Qin Yu, they were still eager to prove themselves.

They didn't want to be humiliated by Qin Yu so brazenly.

"That's easy!"

Qin Yu smiled casually, "I think testing your talents is far too difficult for you lot!"

"I disdain to discourage you; I'll just test you with the simplest thing!"

"It's about twenty li from the Confucian Temple and the Imperial Academy to my residence!"

"I'm giving you half an hour. Aside from your academic officials, if 80% of you can reach my residence within that time, I'll retract my previous statement!"

"If even this is not possible, I wouldn't mind erecting a stone tablet at the entrance of the Confucian Temple and Academy, inscribed with the four characters 'All Trash'!"

Hearing Qin Yu's words, not only the people from the Confucian Temple and Academy, but even Qi Dachui looked puzzled.

Is Thirteen Young Master here to pick out people to fight?

Why are they making people run?

Meeting Qi Dachui's gaze, Qin Yu simply smiled and offered no further explanation.

Seeing that the people from the Confucian Temple and Academy had not yet accepted the challenge, Qin Yu couldn't help but sneer: "What, you bunch of good-for-nothings can't even do something this simple?"

"We are not useless!"

Several students roared angrily, their eyes blazing with fury.

"Whether you're good or bad isn't for you to decide, it's for your actions to see!"

Qin Yu coldly surveyed the people around him. "I'm too lazy to waste my breath on you bunch of good-for-nothings! You have two quarters of an hour to discuss this. Once you've finished, just tell me your answer!"

After saying that, Qin Yu didn't bother to say anything more and left the central platform.

It seemed I really couldn't be bothered to say another word to them.

Seeing Qin Yu's appearance, the people at the Confucian Temple and Academy were filled with rage.

Soon, a large group of people began to whisper and discuss among themselves.

Qin Yu saw it all, but didn't say a word.

Qi Dachui curiously leaned closer, "Thirteenth Young Master, what exactly do you mean by this?"

Qin Yu then explained with a smile, "Although this matter seems simple, it still requires coordination and organization..."

He wanted more than 80% of the people to go to the Qin residence.

But among the people at the Confucian Temple and Academy, there must be many who don't have the physical strength.

When someone is exhausted, how to decide who to let go and who to let persevere, and how to get as many people as possible to the Qin residence—all these require someone to make decisions at crucial moments.

Moreover, they didn't have much time to dwell on the discussion.

Almost every time someone can't hold on any longer, a decision needs to be made immediately!

To put it bluntly, this tests an organization's ability to coordinate and make on-the-spot decisions.

Even if the people at the Confucian Temple and the Imperial Academy are not particularly talented, they can't be that bad.

But some things require talent and ability, as well as the recognition of others!

He deliberately excluded Xu Zhouke because he didn't want Xu Zhouke, who held the position of educational administrator, to be the one who made the final decision.

He needs to find those who have the ability to organize, coordinate, and make on-the-spot decisions!

These are the people he needs!

Qi Dachui didn't understand this, but Qin Yu's words seemed to make a lot of sense, so he nodded repeatedly.

While these people were discussing, Qin Yu called Xu Zhouke over again, "In addition, I need ten people who are proficient in mathematics! Listen carefully, I need people who are proficient in mathematics! Anyone who dares to try to fool me with mediocre people, I will skin you alive!"

Xu Zhouke's face stiffened, but he was powerless against Qin Yu. He could only nod indignantly, but he secretly made up his mind to tell Prime Minister Gao about this matter and ask him to impeach Qin Yu severely!
