The Prodigal Son

Qin Yu laughed without warning or reason.

But it was very enjoyable.

However, Nan Que'er and the others looked worried.

"Oh no, Young Master Thirteen has gone mad!"

Qi Dachui, his face flushed with anxiety, cried out, "Madam Que'er, let's knock the Thirteenth Young Master unconscious right now! We can't let him go any further!"

As he spoke, Qi Dachui was about to rush forward, but Nan Que'er grabbed him.

Nan Que'er was already worried about Qin Yu, and upon hearing Qi Dachui's words, she glared at him angrily: "Can't you say something nice?"

Qi Dachui was extremely anxious and was about to say something when Qin Yu walked towards them laughing.

Qi Dachui couldn't care less about anything else and hurriedly stepped forward, looking at Qin Yu in a panic: "Thirteenth Young Master, you... do you still recognize me?"

"..."

Qin Yu's face immediately darkened.

"Thirteen has been driven mad by Yan Wujiu!"

Qi Dachui let out a mournful cry, grabbed Qin Yu, and growled in a low voice, his face filled with grief and indignation, "Thirteenth Young Master, I... I will definitely avenge you!"

As he spoke, Qi Dachui slowly raised his head and aimed it at the back of Qin Yu's neck.

"I……"

Qin Yu's face twitched violently, and he said speechlessly, "I'm not dead yet! What revenge are you seeking?"

"what?"

Qi Dachui was stunned for a moment, then quickly withdrew his palm strike that was about to fall, released Qin Yu, and asked in surprise, "Thirteenth Young Master, you...you're not crazy?"

"What makes you think I'm crazy?"

Qin Yu was so angry he laughed.

"Then why did you yell and laugh just now?"

Qi Dachui's face was full of question marks.

"I'm laughing at how stupid we all are!"

Qin Yu patted his forehead wearily, then instructed Yuan Dingguo, "Order all those clearing the river to stop immediately. Fill back in everything that has already been cleared!"

Yuan Dingguo was taken aback, then quickly took two steps forward and tentatively asked, "Commander Qin, are you... alright?"

"You think I'm crazy too, don't you?"

Qin Yu lightly kicked Yuan Dingguo in the shin, "I'm perfectly fine right now!"

Yuan Dingguo was immediately puzzled: "Then why did you tell us to stop clearing the river and fill the cleared parts back in?"

"So, you're a fucking idiot too!"

Qin Yu was both amused and annoyed. "Didn't we initially plan to lure Yan Wujiu into launching an attack? Isn't this exactly the situation we wanted? Why did we clear the river and cut off their hopes of attacking?"

"Ah...this..."

Yuan Dingguo suddenly froze.

Yes!

What they most wanted was for Yan Wujiu to launch an attack.

What are they doing now?

Yuan Dingguo glanced at the men still clearing the moat outside the city, then at Qin Yu, and said, "So, we've been wasting our time all this time?"

"Isn't this just a pointless exercise?"

Qin Yu couldn't help but chuckle. "Instead of running around with troops, we might as well let the horses graze along the way! At least we can save some provisions!"

Yuan Dingguo stared at Qin Yu, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.

"Ha ha……"

After a long while, the two looked at each other and burst into laughter, laughing at their own foolishness.

What a pointless mess!

From the moment they learned that Yan Wujiu's goal was to demolish the city wall, they were just wasting their time!

Why bother chasing the Yan army?

They should all send some tea to the Yan army so they can work harder!

The best course of action would be to tear down all the city walls and fill in all the moats!

This way, there will be more space for everyone to fight!

Hearing the two men's laughter, the soldiers cleaning the moat outside the city couldn't help but look up, secretly wondering if the two men had been driven mad by Yan Wujiu.

Nan Que'er stood to the side, her face also full of smiles.

She wasn't infected by Qin Yu and Yuan Dingguo's laughter.

She just felt as if the Qin Yu she knew had returned.

The two laughed for a long time before gradually stopping.

"This subordinate will make the arrangements immediately!"

Yuan Dingguo's eyes flashed with a sharp light, and his fighting spirit erupted instantly: "Let's open the gates wide and see if Yan Wujiu dares to come!"

What are you afraid of?

They have 30,000 cavalry!

The Flying Fang Cavalry only numbered 20,000!

It should be the Flying Fang Cavalry who are afraid of them!

If all else fails, we'll just have a head-on battle with the Flying Fang Cavalry!

This is the perfect opportunity to avenge myself!

"Um!"

Qin Yu nodded slightly and instructed, "Send more men to keep a close watch on Xiaxing! If the Flying Fang Cavalry dares to come, we'll make sure they don't return!"

Qin Yu clenched his fists, a long-lost bright smile appearing on his face.

Wasn't Yan Wujiu trying to disgust them?

He deliberately refused to let Yan Wujiu feel disgusted!

As long as he himself isn't disgusted, Yan Wujiu will be disgusted by himself!

"yes!"

Yuan Dingguo accepted the order and left.

After Yuan Dingguo left, Nan Que'er smiled and looked at Qin Yu: "Feeling better now?"

"That feels much better!"

Qin Yu smiled sheepishly and put his arm around Nan Que'er's waist. "I now deeply understand a certain word."

"There are always people more capable than you, and there's always something beyond your understanding?"

Nan Que'er asked with a smile.

"No, it's just needless worry!"

Qin Yu laughed heartily, "There's nothing inherently wrong in the world; it's just that fools create their own troubles! I overestimated Yan Wujiu, and underestimated him!"

"Oh? What do you mean?"

Nan Que'er asked with a smile.

She could tell that Qin Yu's overall condition had improved a lot.

So, sometimes when people are in a bad mood, they just need to vent.

Keeping everything bottled up inside only makes you suffer.

Qin Yu shook his head and smiled to himself, "I overestimated him because I thought that as a famous general of Yan, he might use ingenious strategies to defeat the enemy! I underestimated him because I didn't expect him to counterattack in such an unexpected way..."

"Isn't that settled?"

Nan Que'er raised her pretty face, "You use strategies that others don't expect, and others will use strategies that you don't expect! The advantage is on our side, so why put so much pressure on yourself?"

"Yes, you're right!"

Qin Yu nodded and smiled, then gently pecked Nan Que'er on the lips.

……

Xia Ying.

"Didn't it move?"

Yan Wujiu was taken aback when he received the message brought back by the scout.

"right!"

The scout replied, "The Ning army has neither repaired the city walls nor cleared the moat."

"Okay, you can go now!"

Yan Wujiu waved his hand lightly, feeling inexplicably irritated.

All that effort for nothing!

I wanted to disgust Ning Jun, but now I'm the one who's disgusted.

Seeing Yan Wujiu's agitation, Ji Ying tentatively asked, "Your Highness, how about we try a surprise attack on Luzhou Prefecture?"

Yan Wujiu was somewhat tempted.

However, after much deliberation, Yan Wujiu still gently shook his head. "They're too lazy to even clean the moat; they're clearly telling us, 'If you're so capable, go ahead and launch a sneak attack!' To launch a sneak attack now would be suicide!"

Feigning defeat is acceptable!

But we can't use the Flying Fang Cavalry to feign defeat!

This is his precious darling.

"So how do we fight from here on out?"

Ji Ying frowned slightly. "Even if we're going to feign defeat, we should do it before the Ning army's main force arrives and we can fight them! Otherwise, if we try to feign defeat now, we'll probably lose even more men!"

In any case, if you feign defeat, you should treat it as a real defeat and fight back!

Then let's just fight!

Win and then lose; lose and then retreat!

That way, even if we lose, we'll feel better!

Yan Wujiu didn't speak, but simply closed his eyes in anguish...
