The Prodigal Son

Yan Wujiu's plan succeeded.

But it wasn't entirely successful.

His scouts, whom he had sent ahead to the direction of Wulin, crossed the Linshan Mountains and found him.

Qin Yu did indeed lead his troops towards Yu Chan.

Unfortunately, Qin Yu did not underestimate his enemy or become arrogant, nor did he rush into their rear as Yan Wujiu had hoped.

Based on the Ning army's marching speed, the Flying Fang Cavalry led by Chi Muge should be no more than forty li away from the Ning army's vanguard.

They were about seventy li away from the vanguard of the Ning army.

Faced with this result, Yan Wujiu was briefly disappointed, but quickly composed himself.

That's good!

It's better than them attacking the city!

Now that we've brought this up, let's have a fair and square showdown!

Can't wait any longer!

If we wait any longer, the vanguard of the Ning army will be stationed at Yuchan!

beat!

As long as they defeat Qin Yu's troops head-on, they can quickly occupy Wulin!

They almost wiped out the entire Wudang Flying Cavalry back then!

Today, victory will still belong to them!

Yan Wujiu mentally rallied himself and immediately ordered, "Order Brother Chimu to lead his troops to attack Qin Yu's forces immediately!"

"Tell Akagi-kun that we can conserve some horsepower up front and wait for the rear!"

"Ji Ying, Si Rong, lead your troops and join forces with my troops and Brother Chi Mu's forces!"

Upon hearing this, Ji Ying immediately tried to dissuade him: "Your Highness, please let this humble general..."

Yan Wujiu raised his hand to stop Ji Ying, his face resolute: "This battle, I will fight personally!"

He knew that Ji Ying was worried about his safety.

But he said, "This battle is a fight to the death!"

If we win this battle, everything will be fine.

If they lose this battle, they will be doomed, and he will have no face to live!

Go all out!

There is no way out!

Seeing Yan Wujiu's resolute expression, Ji Ying ultimately decided not to try to persuade him any further.

He knew perfectly well what Yan Wujiu was thinking.

Yan Wujiu had prepared for the worst!

That's it!

It's all or nothing!

At this point, there's no point in thinking about anything else!

……

morning.

"Report..."

"Reporting to Commander Qin, a large force of Yan cavalry is advancing towards us; they should be less than ten li away now!"

On the way to Yuchan, a scout rode up quickly to report.

What the hell!

Xue Lie was absolutely right!

A surprise attack!

Yan Wujiu was still unwilling to give up and was determined to launch a counterattack!

Ten miles!

Why did it take so long for a scout to come and report when we were already so close?

Did Yan Wujiu kill all of Gui San's men?

Qin Yu's heart skipped a beat, and he quickly asked, "Approximately how many troops does the Yan army have?"

"I don't know."

The scout shook his head and said, "A huge, dark mass, billowing dust all the way. Judging from the noise, there are at least ten or twenty thousand troops!"

Flying Fang Cavalry!

Qin Yu instantly understood that the Flying Fang Cavalry had attacked!

It's obvious that Yan Wujiu is going to risk his life!

The distance of twenty miles was covered in no time!

Qin Yu quickly took the map and examined it.

The surrounding terrain is relatively open and offers no natural defenses.

The only dangerous place is Linshan on the right flank.

But they can't possibly go and garrison Linshan!

If they open the passage, the Flying Fang Cavalry will surely head straight for Wulin!

Qin Yu hardened his heart and, with murderous intent, gave the order: "Send word that the entire army immediately retreat five miles and form ranks to meet the enemy!"

"Order Pei Xiao to lead his troops to protect the left flank of the main force!"

"Notify Xue Lie that the Flying Fang Cavalry is attacking. Order Xue Lie to immediately move closer to our forces and send a portion of his troops to keep a close watch on the right flank!"

You're risking your life, aren't you!

Who the hell is afraid to play?

As soon as Qin Yu gave the order, the army immediately sprang into action.

The rear guard became the vanguard and retreated rapidly.

Upon receiving Qin Yu's order, Xue Lie was not afraid but rather delighted.

Good timing!

He was just worried about not having a chance to make a contribution!

"Wang Gui, immediately lead three thousand men into the right flank of the main army and deploy them using the advantageous terrain! If you dare let even one enemy soldier pass, I will take your head!"

"yes!"

Wang Gui quickly accepted the order.

Zzzzz!

Xue Lie drew his sword. "Order the rest of the units to immediately converge on the vanguard!"

"Tell the brothers, our chance to make a name for ourselves has arrived!"

"Those who fear battle and refuse to advance shall be executed!"

"Anyone who deserts in the face of battle shall be executed!"

"Anyone who disobeys military orders will be executed!"

As soon as he uttered the word "slay," Xue Lie exuded a strong killing intent.

Before long, the Wudang Flying Army joined forces with Xue Lie's troops.

By this time, they could already hear the deafening sound of horses' hooves.

Qin Yu and Xue Lie didn't even have time to exchange a glance before each ordering their troops to form ranks and meet the enemy.

Yan Wujiu is going to fight to the death!

It goes without saying that this is bound to be a fierce battle.

Standing on slightly higher ground, Qin Yu could clearly see the billowing dust in the distance even without using his clairvoyance.

Before long, a cloud of dust exploded.

The entire Yan army came into view.

The Yan army halted about two miles from their lines.

Qin Yu raised his Thousand-Mile Eyes to look over.

A vast army of Yan soldiers had been deployed, stretching as far as the eye could see.

That's definitely more than 20,000 riders!

At least 30,000 troops!

Damn it, where would the Flying Tiger Cavalry get so many soldiers?

Just as Qin Yu was secretly wondering, some Yan soldiers, whose armor was different from that of the Flying Fang Cavalry, dismounted and quickly assembled forward.

Upon seeing this, Qin Yu immediately understood!

Half Flying Riders, half elite infantry!

Yan Wujiu brought a large number of infantrymen using the Flying Fang Cavalry's spare warhorses!

They really came here with a do-or-die mentality!

Yan Wujiu, clad in golden royal armor and a red cloak, stood alone at the forefront of the Flying Fang Cavalry.

His expression remained calm and composed, showing no sign of fear.

Only his eyes radiated murderous intent.

Behind Yan Wujiu was a vast swarm of Flying Fang cavalry.

Everyone was dressed in bright silver armor, carrying a lance and a sword at their waist.

Their equipment is in no way inferior to that of the Wudang Flying Army.

Through the Thousand-Mile Eye, Qin Yu could even clearly see the faces of the Flying Fang Cavalry two miles away.

These soldiers were all fierce and imposing, their faces filled with intense fighting spirit.

"Truly worthy of being the elite troops that the Yan army has raised with a great deal of money and supplies!"

Qin Yu sincerely praised him, but also sighed inwardly.

This battle will definitely not be easy!

Yan Wujiu gazed at Qin Yu's command banner in the distance, a cold glint in his eyes. He turned to Hu Damao and Chi Muge behind him, "Hu Damao, I order you to lead six thousand men to charge the left flank of the Ning army cavalry, launching a flanking attack on the Ning infantry! Chi Muge, lead your troops to join me in a frontal assault on the Ning army cavalry, heading straight for their command banner!"

"yes!"

Hu Damou and Chi Mu Ge loudly accepted the order.

Yan Wujiu turned around, facing the army behind him, and roared with all his might.

"My sons and lads of Great Yan!"

"Ahead lies Qin Yu, who, through his vicious schemes, has left my Great Yan with neither money nor food!"

"This treacherous villain has harmed countless people of my Great Yan, leaving our land strewn with corpses of the starving!"

"Today is the day we avenge the people of Great Yan!"

"Only by eliminating the enemy before us can our parents, wives, and children survive!"

"Do any of you dare to fight to the death alongside me?"

Yan Wujiu's voice was emitted using his true energy.

The soldiers at the front heard it all clearly.

"Fight to the death!"

"Fight to the death..."

Countless Yan soldiers roared with all their might, their eyes filled with the flames of revenge.

Yan Wujiu looked at his soldiers with satisfaction and roared, "Charge! Whoever kills Qin Yu will be enfeoffed as a marquis of ten thousand households! Kill!"

"kill!"

In an instant, the Yan army erupted in a deafening roar of battle cries...
