The Prodigal Son

Before long, Qin Yu and his group arrived at the temporary commander's residence.

"General Xue, the Wudang Flying Army has been decimated this time. You must send some reinforcements for me..."

They had just sat down when Qin Yu went to Xue Chengdao to complain.

They don't lack horses now.

But we really need more people!

Ideally, you should fill the entire unit immediately!

Of course, he also knew that if he wanted to reach full strength in one step, he would probably have to merge the cavalry under Dong Heshang into the Wudang Flying Army.

Their manpower shortage is too great.

As for the prisoners of the Flying Tiger Cavalry, he could supplement some of them into the Wudang Flying Army.

However, it can only be a part.

Otherwise, things might go wrong on the battlefield.

"I knew you'd bring this up."

Xue Chengdao smiled, "Replenishing your troops is no problem! But you'll have to prepare them yourself!"

"what?"

Qin Yu frowned, looking at Xue Cheng with a wry expression, and said, "You're not going to send me more infantry so I can slowly train them, are you?"

"You wish!"

Xue Chengdao chuckled.

"Then..."

Before Qin Yu could even utter a word of "good," he looked at Xue Cheng in astonishment and said, "You call this wishful thinking? You're not going to provide me with more laborers, are you?"

Even sending him to train infantry at his own pace is wishful thinking.

This is absolutely outrageous!

"It's not that bad."

Xue Chengdao smiled, then pointed at Liang Hongqiao, "Her six thousand men will all be incorporated into your force..."

Qin Yu frowned and subconsciously glanced at Liang Hongqiao.

What's going on?

He transferred Liang Hongqiao's troops to himself, so why did he say he was "dreaming"?

Liang Hongqiao, unaware of Qin Yu's thoughts, assumed he looked down on her troops and smiled, saying, "General Qin, although my men aren't exactly skilled in archery and horsemanship, most of them have received riding training, as you should know..."

Clearly, Liang Hongqiao already knew about Xue Chengdao's decision.

She had no objection to merging her troops into the Wudang Flying Army.

The Wudang Flying Army was a highly decorated and battle-hardened unit!

Everyone has witnessed the contributions of the Wudang Flying Army throughout this campaign.

"No, no, you've misunderstood!"

Qin Yu shook his head and smiled, "It's not that I look down on your troops, it's just that I don't quite understand what Commander Xue meant just now."

To be honest, he didn't want Liang Hongqiao's troops.

He wants the finished product!

Liang Hongqiao's unit, at best, was a half-finished product.

Of course, that's not the point.

The key point is, didn't Xue Chengdao previously say something like he was "dreaming"?

An infantryman who has received horsemanship training is always better than an infantryman who has not received such training, right?

This clearly doesn't fit with the phrase "dream on!"

Xue Chengdao chuckled inwardly and continued, "In addition, I will give you three thousand elite soldiers and five thousand wounded soldiers with minor injuries."

Ok?

Qin Yu felt increasingly uneasy as he listened.

Three thousand elite soldiers?

Five thousand wounded soldiers?

He didn't mind the wounded soldiers.

Wounded soldiers who survive the battlefield, once healed, become elite troops!

These soldiers who have seen blood, even if they can't go to the battlefield for the time being, are still treasures!

Something is wrong!

This is basically a wonderful thing!

That old fox is probably digging his own grave!

Qin Yu was secretly suspicious and tentatively asked, "Commander Xue, what exactly are you planning to do?"

"This is enough to replenish all your troops!"

Xue Chengdao looked at Qin Yu with a smile, "I will transfer Xue Lie's troops away. Half a month later, you must give me 50,000 elite soldiers! Among them, at least 20,000 will be cavalry!"

"What?"

Qin Yu's voice suddenly rose eight octaves as he stared at Xue Chengdao in astonishment.

Not to mention Qin Yu, even Liang Hongqiao and Lü Si were stunned.

Qin Yu's Wudang Flying Army was reduced to only about 10,000 men.

Even if Xue Chengdao adds 14,000 more people, the total will only be 24,000!

In half a month, they'll give him 50,000 elite troops?

Moreover, at least 20,000 cavalry are needed.

Qin Yu stared wide-eyed at Xue Chengdao, inwardly cursing him.

Even loan sharks don't operate like this!

"General Xue, where am I supposed to get you 50,000 elite troops?"

Qin Yu was speechless.

No wonder he said he was dreaming!

No, he's dreaming!

"This is your business, Marshal of the detachment!"

Xue Chengdao waved his hand lightly, "All prisoners, weapons, and supplies in Pangzhou Prefecture and the surrounding areas are at your disposal! How you use them is none of my concern; I only care about the results!"

"I……"

A sudden urge to curse arose within Qin Yu, and he said speechlessly, "General Xue, if you want me to go and persuade the Yan prisoners to surrender, just say so!"

If you give him 50,000 elite troops in half a month, what else can you do besides recruiting prisoners?

Are you suggesting we recruit able-bodied men for training?

"I've said it before, how you do it is your business, I only care about the result!"

Xue Chengdao looked at Qin Yu with a smile.

Being able to conjure soldiers is one of the abilities a commander should possess!

"no……"

Qin Yu was speechless. "Even if I could conjure up 50,000 elite troops, I doubt you would dare to use them on the battlefield..."

Qin Yu suddenly stopped mid-sentence.

If he himself understood this principle, Xue Chengdao couldn't possibly not understand it either!

But he still made that request!

Beiqi!

Qin Yu instantly understood.

These 50,000 elite troops were not intended to deal with the Yan state!

The State of Yan is not easy to deal with now!

This was prepared to deal with Bei Qi!

Understanding this, Qin Yu stopped wasting words and stood up, saying, "This subordinate obeys!"

"That's more like it!"

Xue Chengdao smiled with satisfaction, "Also, from today onwards, Yuan Dingguo will serve as the commander-in-chief of the Wudang Flying Army, and Liang Hongqiao as his deputy! As for the other generals, you can arrange them yourself!"

"what?"

Qin Yu was taken aback and blurted out, "Then what should I do?"

Qin Yu's question left Xue Chengdao completely baffled.

After a long while, Xue Chengdao finally recovered and asked, both amused and annoyed, "You're the commander of a detachment, what are you doing?"

So, he completely forgot his title as a detachment marshal?

All I remember is the title of the vanguard of the campaign against Yan?

Faced with Xue Chengdao's question, Qin Yu couldn't help but chuckle.

I realize that my question was indeed a bit stupid.

"This subordinate understands!"

Qin Yu nodded emphatically: "Half a month later, this subordinate will definitely provide Commander Xue with 50,000 elite troops!"

"very good!"

Xue Chengdao nodded approvingly, "In addition, Monk Dong has already led his troops to capture Yanzhou and forced the surrender of more than 8,000 Yanzhou naval troops."

"I have already dispatched 20,000 infantrymen to escort supplies to Yanzhou Prefecture and garrison the prefecture!"

"Although your unit is currently resting and training, if the enemy invades Yanzhou, you will need to immediately lead your troops to provide support!"

"If Yanzhou falls, I will hold you responsible!"

Qin Yu was surprised.

No wonder I didn't see Monk Dong!

He has already captured Yanzhou!

That was quite a quick movement.

However, Yanzhou's military strength must be extremely weak, so it's normal to capture Yanzhou.

It would be abnormal if we couldn't conquer it!

Heading towards Yanzhou!

Xue Chengdao was clearly on guard against the elite cavalry of Beiqi taking a roundabout route to attack Yanzhou!

Understanding this, Qin Yu immediately accepted the order and said, "This humble general wishes to ask Commander Xue for someone!"

"Who?"

"Indigofera tinctoria!"

Qin Yu's gaze fell on Zhu Songlan.

really!

Xue Chengdao chuckled inwardly and nodded, saying, "Alright! You can mobilize everyone in Pangzhou Prefecture, except for Shangguan Xun!"
