The Prodigal Son

The Qujiang River originates from Diecui Mountain and is located south of the imperial city.

The Luo family's restaurant was located on the upper reaches of the Qujiang River.

It's about ten miles southwest of the imperial city.

Luo Qingyi rode the same horse as Qin Yu, leaning her body against Qin Yu's chest and occasionally twisting her body, making Qin Yu's heart itch unbearably, and he wished he could punish this vixen on the spot.

"I heard the Luo family spent a fortune building that restaurant, is that true?"

Qin Yu used the question to divert attention.

Luo Qingyi naturally noticed Qin Yu's unusual physical condition and turned around with a smile, "Of course! Just repairing that restaurant cost over fifty thousand taels of silver!"

Luo Qingyi chuckled inwardly.

Didn't he say that he could only sleep after blowing out the light?

It seems that even the famous Thirteenth Young Master of the Imperial City doesn't have such high standards!

"The Luo family is really rich!"

Qin Yu exclaimed, "They built this restaurant so far from the capital, and they were still willing to spend so much money!"

Luo Qingyi gently shook her head, "At first, the restaurant's business was indeed quite good! However, after that fierce battle a few years ago, the restaurant's business gradually declined..."

This restaurant was started a year before the death of the late Emperor Xiaowen.

At that time, Ningguo was truly enjoying a period of peace and prosperity.

Merchants from neighboring countries such as the Nine Kingdoms of the Snow Region, Chu, Min, and Yan often came to Kyoto.

The Luo family originally thought that the restaurant was not far from the capital and was situated by the mountains and water, which would attract many merchants and dignitaries to visit and enjoy themselves.

As a result, the late emperor passed away less than four months after the restaurant was completed.

In the second year after the Empress ascended the throne, a large-scale locust plague broke out in many parts of Ningguo. Rumors spread, and rebellions broke out in Hai and Ning provinces. Then, Beiqi and Yan launched an attack on Ningguo.

Although Ningguo did not lose an inch of its territory, its peaceful and prosperous era came to an end.

After that, the restaurant's business gradually declined.

"I see!"

Qin Yu suddenly realized what was happening and felt a deep respect for the late emperor.

Ningguo has already been ruled by four emperors.

However, he personally believes that the most awesome emperor of Ningguo was not Emperor Xiaowu, who defeated the powerful Northern Qi, but Emperor Xiaowen, who reigned for sixteen years but ruled for more than thirty years.

Emperor Xiaowu reigned for twenty-three years, during which he launched four northern expeditions, one southern expedition, and one western expedition.

If it weren't for his eldest son governing the country, Ningguo's economy and people's livelihood would definitely have collapsed.

It was also thanks to the wealth accumulated by Emperor Xiaowen through years of diligent governance that Ningguo was able to avoid losing an inch of territory in that tragic battle a few years ago.

It is said that after Emperor Xiaowen passed away, people from surrounding countries spontaneously wore mourning clothes.

However, to be fair, Emperor Xiaowu was truly amazing.

Even if Da Ning considers the imperial city as one state, it is still only twenty-six states.

However, fifteen of these prefectures were conquered by Emperor Xiaowu himself leading his troops!

There was also Yinzhou, which he extorted from the State of Chu in the south by relying on his remaining power when he was seriously ill in his later years!

Just as Qin Yu was secretly sighing, he heard a seductive moan.

Luo Qingyi bit her thin lips, slowly turned her head, and looked at Qin Yu with alluring eyes, "Thirteenth Young Master, are you cold?"

"I'm hot!"

Qin Yu glared at her, his eyes wide.

"But I'm so cold!"

As Luo Qingyi spoke, she snuggled closer to Qin Yu's arms, wriggling her delicate body restlessly.

Hearing Luo Qingyi's words, Qi Dachui accepted his cloak without hesitation and handed it over, saying, "Miss Luo, the Thirteenth Young Master is frail and easily catches a cold! You should wear my clothes; I'm not afraid of the cold!"

"..."

Luo Qingyi paused slightly, then leaned against Qin Yu's chest and giggled incessantly.

"You can wear it yourself! She's faking it!"

Qin Yu glanced at Qi Dachui, then lightly slapped Luo Qingyi on the head, deliberately putting on a dark face: "Behave yourself! Or you'll face my family rules!"

That vixen!

It was clearly intentional!

Isn't it just because she said she can only sleep after the light is blown out that she keeps teasing her?

She's trying to get revenge!

Spicy and numbing green pepper chicken!

I'll take care of her as soon as I get back!

Let's see if she dares to flirt again!

"I dare not do it again."

Luo Qingyi pretended to be timid, but her body still writhed in Qin Yu's arms.

At this moment, Qin Yu truly felt what it meant to experience pain and pleasure simultaneously.

Having endured Luo Qingyi's teasing all the way, Qin Yu finally arrived at the entrance of the Luo family's restaurant.

This restaurant is built along the Qujiang River and it does look quite large.

Roughly estimated, it covers at least 100 acres and has many three-story structures!

Speaking of restaurants, he had never seen one bigger than this.

Although this restaurant is six years old, you can tell from the exterior that the interior must be very high-end.

I don't know if they received prior notice from the Luo family, but the restaurant's doors were locked and there wasn't even a doorman.

Qin Yu jumped off his horse and immediately ordered Qi Dachui, "Go, break the lock!"

"Okay!"

Qi Dachui swung his golden mace and slammed it down on the door lock.

Soon, Qin Yu led them inside.

As he expected, the interior decoration was indeed very high-end.

However, it was covered with a thin layer of dust, so it looked like it had been closed for some time.

Qin Yu took another look around the restaurant and was very satisfied with it.

No repairs are needed, just have someone clean it up!

Qin Yu turned to look at Luo Qingyi, who was following behind him, and asked, "You should know how to run a restaurant, right?"

"what?"

Luo Qingyi was taken aback. "Thirteenth Young Master, you don't mean you want me to run this restaurant for you, do you?"

"yes!"

Qin Yu smiled matter-of-factly, "I can't do it myself, can I?"

"no……"

In her haste, Luo Qingyi blurted out, "Weren't you going to take me to a tavern for a life of debauchery and pleasure?"

Qin Yu's face darkened. "Why would I be here seeking pleasure?"

"I……"

Luo Qingyi's face twitched. She glanced at Qi Dachui, then pulled Qin Yu aside. "Why are you still bothering with this shabby restaurant? Instead of hurrying up and ensuring the Qin family line continues, do you want to watch the Qin family die out?"

She thought Qin Yu was coming to this restaurant because he wanted to enjoy his last days.

She's here to leave a seed for Qin Yu!

I'm not here to run the restaurant for Qin Yu!

He doesn't do his job properly when he should be doing it, and he doesn't indulge in pleasure when he should be doing it!

Looking at Luo Qingyi's anxious face, Qin Yu was speechless.

So, she thought she was doomed?

"Alright, we can talk about the pregnancy later."

Qin Yu raised his hand to stop Luo Qingyi, "Let's go, we should go back!"

In the afternoon, I will send some people from my residence to clean up this place, and leave a few people to watch over it, and water the flowers and plants that need watering.

Hmm, I should go back to see the Empress and ask her for some funding!

Use the Flower Empress's money for your own purposes!

There was also the Empress Dowager's birthday banquet where they helped him defeat GG!

From now on, this will be the most high-end club in Daning.
