Disorder in marriage

Wei Yang was carried away, and Gu Yunmo sat down, picked up his wine glass, and took a sip.

Yan Zhi silently left the door, gazing at the night sky as she walked out of Flex's main entrance.

Her thoughts drifted back to the first time she met Gu Yunmo.

At that time, he was not Yan Fei's boyfriend, but just an investor who came to the school to participate in the school's anniversary celebration.

Yan Zhi was chosen by the school leaders to be a greeter at the entrance because of her good looks.

When they met again, he was Yan Fei's boyfriend.

Yan Zhi took out her phone and called Xia Linglong.

"Linglong, I might have to stay at your place for a while."

"Great!" Xia Linglong was overjoyed.

"It just so happens that you live near my house, senior. If you come and stay with me, we'll be back to our college days, eating and working together every day!"

Yan Zhi smiled and nodded.

Xia Linglong asked, "What's wrong? Are you in a bad mood? Did that guy surnamed Gu upset you again?"

Yan Zhi shook her head. "It's nothing, I'll tell you later. I'm busy right now."

"Okay, Xiaozhi, I'm always here for you!"

"Um."

Yan Zhi hung up the phone and took a taxi home.

Gu Yunmo rushed here as soon as he got off the plane; he must not have had dinner yet.

She opened the refrigerator and found it empty.

The supermarket across the street was still open, so she walked over, pushed a shopping cart, and carefully checked the ingredient list of each item she picked up.

When she was pregnant, she often went grocery shopping with Gu Yunmo, her baby bump still protruding.

Because she had to be careful about what she ate, Gu Yunmo would check the ingredient list for everything and only dare to buy it after confirming that there were no problems.

Yan Zhi picked out all the things he liked to eat. As she was carrying the things and preparing to cross the road, Gu Yunmo walked over and took the things from her hands without saying a word.

"Thanks."

The two stood together. They had walked this road countless times, but never before had it felt so silent and unfamiliar.

When the red light turned green, Gu Yunmo switched the shopping bag to his other hand and made a point of freeing his hand to hold Yan Zhi's hand.

Yan Zhi smiled and dodged away, "I'm not pregnant now, I can walk by myself."

She wasn't as cold as before, but she was more distant, walking ahead without looking back, as if she wanted to draw a line between herself and him.

His hunch proved correct; she cooked, and they ate together happily.

Then, they produced a divorce agreement.

"Gu Yunmo, let's get a divorce."

Gu Yunmo hadn't slept for seventeen hours, and exhaustion was evident in the bloodshot eyes.

"reason."

Yan Zhi said calmly, "We can't go back."

As soon as she said those words, her throat tightened and her vision blurred.

"I don't want to live off your fame, and I don't want to cause you trouble. I'll only accumulate more and more favors like this in the future, and I don't want that."

Gu Yunmo said expressionlessly, "We're husband and wife. It's normal for you to use my resources and connections. Isn't that what marriage is all about?"

Yan Zhi smiled and shook her head. "I want to prove myself and set a good example for my daughter."

When Gu Yunmo heard her mention her daughter, his heart suddenly felt as heavy as if it had been crushed by a thousand-pound stone.

He couldn't speak, and he didn't know what to say.

We can't stop Yan Zhi from wanting to improve.

Yan Zhi said good-naturedly, "I am very grateful that you helped me resolve the photo issue, but unfortunately I have nothing to repay you with. I will leave with nothing, and we can part amicably."

Gu Yunmo took out his cigarette case, lit a cigarette, and said, "I'll think about it."

"I'll give you ten minutes."

Yan Zhi got up to clear the dishes. While she was busy in the kitchen, Gu Yunmo came over with her phone.

"Ling Xiao is calling you."

"oh."

Yan Zhi's hands were still wet, and she looked around for paper towels.

Gu Yunmo's gaze was deep as he made the call for her and put it on speakerphone.

"Feed? Xiaozhi?"

Yan Zhi felt a little guilty. "Um, senior, I'm busy right now. I'll call you back later."

Ling Xiao: "It's nothing, I just wanted to say that Gu Yunmo seems to have returned to China."

"I know."

"You know?" Ling Xiao asked. "Why did he suddenly return to China? Did something happen there?"

Yan Zhi was afraid that if they continued talking, Gu Yunmo would find out that she had Ling Xiao follow him.

"Senior, I'm not available right now. Can we talk later? I'm sorry."

Ling Xiao finally understood her subtext.

"Okay, it's alright, let's talk after you're done with your work. We'll have dinner together with Linglong when I get back from my business trip. Isn't she always saying she wants to eat at that Dai restaurant?"

"OK."

Ling Xiao hung up the phone first.

But in Gu Yunmo's eyes, the two of them seemed more guilty than the other.

Where did he go on his business trip?

Yan Zhi knew he would investigate, so she didn't dare to hide anything, "New York."

"Following me?"

Yan Zhi countered, "You went to New York too?"

"Yan Zhi, stop pretending. If you don't know where I went, why would Ling Xiao say I went back to the country?"

Yan Zhi knew she couldn't hide it any longer, so she decided to lay it all out.

"I want to know where my child is. I am the child's biological mother, and I have the right to find my child."

"So Ling Xiao helped you track me?"

Gu Yunmo narrowed his eyes, pushing Yan Zhi against the edge of the island platform. "What you owe me, you'll repay by leaving with nothing. What do you plan to repay Ling Xiao with?"

Yan Zhi: "..."

"I'm curious, why are you so calculating with me, but you don't distinguish between 'yours' and 'mine' with Ling Xiao? Who is your man anyway? Are you marrying me or him?"

Yan Zhi's eyes widened. "Gu Yunmo, don't try to twist my words! You say I'm having an affair with Senior Ling Xiao, but what about you and Yan Fei? You flew all the way there to see her, and that makes you two innocent?"

Gu Yunmo laughed. "Jealous?"

"Whoever gets jealous is a dog."

Gu Yunmo wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her into his embrace.

"I won't hold Ling Xiao against you, and you shouldn't hold Yan Fei against me either. Let's end our cold war here, okay?"

Yan Zhi was speechless for a moment. She knew that this was already a rare concession from Gu Yunmo.

If she doesn't take the opportunity to back down, she'll be pushing her luck.

But she was in so much pain because the man in front of her had another important woman in his heart.

She missed her daughter, and she couldn't forget the cold stares and humiliation she suffered in the heavy rain that day.

"Gu Yunmo, I'll agree to anything you say as long as you give me back my daughter. Otherwise, we're getting a divorce."

The man's face instantly darkened. "She's not coming back, never."

Why?

Gu Yunmo released her. "Don't ask anymore."

"Why won't you let me ask!"

He turned and left the kitchen, and Yan Zhi, as if her sore spot had been touched, chased after him, asking, "Did Yan Fei take good care of her?"

"Have you seen the baby? How is the baby? Does the baby look well?"

"Have you held her?"

Have you confirmed the child's condition with anyone close to Yan Fei?

"Gu Yunmo!"

He entered the study, slamming the door shut and leaving Yan Zhi outside.

Yan Zhi was furious and punched him several times.

"Are you really that selfish?! I have the right to see the child! That's my child! No one loves her more than me! Yan Fei doesn't deserve to be her mother! And you don't deserve to be her father!"

There was no response from inside; only Yan Zhi remained, crying miserably.

"Gu Yunmo, I want a divorce! I really want a divorce!"
