Disorder in marriage

Chapter 43 My Child

Wei Dinglian spoke sweetly, but the words "healthy" sounded like a curse.

Cursing her is one thing, but cursing her child is something Yan Zhi cannot tolerate.

She reached out her hand to Wei Dinglian again and slowly walked over.

"Xiao Zhi! Hmm!"

Yan Zhi placed her hands lightly on Wei Dinglian's neck.

Wei Dinglian had nowhere to retreat; the sofa was right behind her, and she gripped the back of the sofa tightly.

"Xiao Zhi..."

Just as she was about to tell her to calm down, Yan Zhi suddenly became fierce, using both hands to twist her neck as if she wanted to break it.

"Help!"

Forget about saving her life, the hatred in Yan Zhi's eyes almost consumed her reason. Even if Wei Dinglian knelt down and begged for mercy, she would not soften her heart.

Seeing that Yan Zhi was determined to strangle him, Wei Dinglian kicked her with all her might.

However, after running only a couple of steps, Yan Zhi tackled her to the ground.

"Are you crazy! I'm your aunt!"

Yan Zhi straddled Wei Dinglian and continued to choke her.

Wei Dinglian slapped the floor, trying to make some noise so that someone could hear her. Within seconds, her face turned a deep purplish-red.

Just when she thought she was about to meet her maker, the door was kicked open, and finally someone pulled them apart.

"Xiao Zhi!"

Xia Linglong held Yan Zhi's shoulders tightly, her eyes red as she comforted her, "Don't be sad! You still have me! You still have me!"

She held the numb Yan Zhi in her arms.

When Gu Yunmo told her the truth, she was more than ten times as heartbroken as Yan Zhi was.

She would rather Gu Yunmo continue playing the villain with Yan Fei than have Yan Zhi's child, whom she had carried for ten months, die.

Gu Yunmo helped Wei Dinglian up, and she hurriedly hid behind him, saying in a panic, "Yunmo! Xiaozhi knows about the child! I didn't say that!"

Gu Yunmo ignored her.

Xia Linglong took Yan Zhi's hand and said softly, "Gu Yunmo held a funeral for the child and erected a tombstone. Shall we go take a look?"

Yan Zhi's eyes flickered slightly, and she opened her lips as if to say "okay," but no sound came out.

After they left, Gu Yunmo turned to look at Wei Dinglian, who was about to make a phone call, though he didn't know who she was calling.

"Auntie, Xiaozhi is in a bad mood. I hope you won't take this to heart."

He took the phone away and turned off the screen.

Wei Dinglian was displeased, pointing to her neck, "She almost strangled me to death! Can't I even call the police?"

Gu Yunmo's eyes were as dark as ink. "Wei Yang's case is still under trial. If you don't want him to get a heavier sentence, feel free to call the police."

Wei Dinglian immediately pointed at Gu Yunmo's nose and yelled angrily, "How dare you talk to me like that?"

"Don't forget that you were the one who wronged my Feifei first! My Feifei went abroad for you and Xiaozhi! Now that she's not by my side, and I've suffered so much injustice, can't I even get justice for myself?"

"If you feel wronged, why don't you ask your daughter what she did behind my back?"

Wei Dinglian was stunned.

Out of consideration for their past relationship, Gu Yunmo stopped there and didn't say anything more serious.

After leaving the Yan family, he took Yan Zhi and Xia Linglong to the Gu family's cemetery.

The Gu family members were all buried here after they died. Yan Zhi saw a tombstone that was noticeably smaller under a tree.

It stood there quietly and obediently, with two empty seats next to it, which Gu Yunmo had prepared for himself.

He thought that one day he and Yan Zhi would be buried here, so that the three of them could be reunited.

Yan Zhi knelt on the ground and gently stroked the characters engraved on it—Gu Yunmo's daughter, Gu Mian'an.

"My child..." Yan Zhi could no longer see the words clearly. The cold touch felt like a sharp blade, piercing every inch of her skin.

Gu Yunmo knelt on one knee, putting his arm around Yan Zhi's shoulder. Yan Zhi hugged the tombstone and broke down in tears, crying, "My child!"

Rumbling--

The afternoon rain came again, extinguishing the last bit of hope in Yan Zhi's heart.

......

In Shenzhen, Ji Shanmei lay on her hospital bed, her leg in a cast dangling in mid-air.

She was holding a bag of sunflower seeds, cracking them open while watching Jiang Jin.

"Assistant Jiang, I'm thirsty. I'd like some milk tea."

Jiang Jin didn't feel unhappy. As an assistant, he was often ordered around to do this and that. He came here with a feeling of atonement.

He would grant Ji Shanmei's every request, as long as it wasn't excessive.

He pulled out his phone. "Which restaurant do you want to drink from?"

Ji Shanmei said, "I don't want takeout. There's a shop on the basement floor of the hospital. Go and buy it for me."

"it is good."

Jiang took two steps and then stopped. "Do you need anything else? I'll buy it all for you at once."

Ji Shanmei smiled, "No need, thank you."

"You're welcome."

The line at the milk tea shop was very long. While Jiang Jin was waiting in line, his phone rang.

It was Yan Fei calling.

He glanced at it, hung up, and then put the phone back into the inner pocket of his coat.

A short while later, the phone rang again.

He still hung up.

Then two more text message notifications sounded, but he ignored them, took the two cups of milk tea handed to him by the shop assistant, and turned to leave.

Back in the ward, the doctor examined Ji Shanmei. "Manager Ji, your recovery is going well, you're perfectly ready to be discharged."

When Ji Shanmei saw him come in, she immediately complained to the doctor, "Doctor, but my leg hurts a lot. Will there be any aftereffects? I think I should be hospitalized. What if I become disabled?"

The doctor said matter-of-factly, "But your leg can definitely be rested at home. Hospital beds are limited, and you have to consider the needs of other patients."

Ji Shanmei pouted, and Jiang Jin walked over and said dismissively, "Let's talk about it when there are other patients. Her leg isn't fully healed yet, so just to be on the safe side, she should stay in the hospital for another week. No matter how serious her injury is, she is still a patient."

The doctor didn't say anything more. Ji Shanmei snatched the milk tea from his hand, took a couple of sips, and then heard his phone ringing incessantly.

"Aren't you answering the phone?"

Jiang Jin's expression was grave. "It has nothing to do with you."

Ji Shanmei sneered, "That bitch Yan Fei called you, didn't she?"

Jiang Jin took his phone out of his pocket, but Ji Shanmei snatched it away with lightning speed.

"Give me!"

This was the first time Jiang Jin had ever been angry.

How could Ji Shanmei possibly give it? Looking at the name flashing on the screen, she felt a sense of satisfaction, as if she had finally gotten her revenge.

"She's finally gotten herself into this mess? If it weren't for her, my leg wouldn't be injured at all! It seems Mr. Gu doesn't want to deal with her anymore, otherwise she wouldn't be so eager to contact you."

Seeing her about to draw the line, Jiang Jin's expression changed. "What are you trying to do!"

Ji Shanmei said coldly, "What? Assistant Jiang, you still want to speak up for her? Don't forget how President Gu treated you! And don't forget why you came here!"

Jiang Jin was speechless.

Ji Shanmei answered the phone in front of him, "Feed? Miss Yan Fei."

There was a pause on the other end. "Who are you?"

"You bitch, you can't even recognize your great-aunt's voice anymore?"
