Rules of the Strange: I Became a God in a Bizarre World Through Taoist Arts

Fresh blood gushed from the wound.

The red string absorbed all the blood beads like a sucker.

The entire rope was an eerily red, swaying silently in the air.

After a long while, the smell of blood slowly dissipated into the air.

Shen Xingzhuo's nostrils flared, and he felt a little dizzy.

"This is actually an SS-rank item? It's already bound to me, so why did it accidentally hurt me?"

Shen Xingzhuo was truly speechless at this moment.

She remained unaffected by a hundredfold increase in eeriness in the ghost stories, but became dizzy and disoriented by her own props in the void.

She bit the tip of her tongue, using the pain to keep herself awake.

"What's written on the remaining cards?" she urged.

[Congratulations to the chosen one for obtaining SS...]

The ghost story's sound drew out.

Shen Xingzhuo guessed that the item on this card was at least a double S-level item.

【ha.】

Shen Xingzhuo: Are you sick?

[So this card wasn't supposed to be a rated item.]

The fourth transparent card magnified infinitely in front of Shen Xingzhuo's eyes.

"So what are you doing over there?"

【unimportant.】

[Congratulations to the chosen one for obtaining the unrated item – the Ghost Soldier Terracotta Warrior.]

Although this item has no rating, it possesses the ability to allow one to traverse space. In high-level ghost stories, the chosen one can activate the Ghost Soldier Puppet with their own blood, transferring acquaintances into the ghost story to fight alongside them.

To achieve —

The force of ghostly troops marching through the land!

【Um? 】

This item can be activated and used an unlimited number of times.

[Chosen One, you've struck gold!]

Shen Xingzhu frowned.

Have you struck gold? Maybe not.

With the Heavenly Oath in place, she wasn't worried that the ghost story would take away the card she had originally drawn halfway through.

However, the Yin Soldier Puppet given by this card is a truly evil creature.

The idea of transferring real people into ghost stories seems normal, but the problem lies in the term "ghost soldiers".

The Yin soldiers are the regular military force of the underworld, under the jurisdiction of the Fengdu Emperor, and are only subject to the command of the Ten Kings of Hell.

Although they are organized into units, they are still part of the underworld's military force.

Those who can survive in the underworld are the souls of the dead.

This ghost soldier mercenary allowed her to use living people in the real world as ghost soldiers.

It's hard to say whether there might be a situation where the soul cannot return to its original body, or whether it might be trapped by some strange force, or whether it might be a sequela of consuming soul power and becoming a vegetable.

It could be said that while this item allowed her to avoid fighting alone in ghost stories, she couldn't think of any scenario where she could use it.

They're utterly useless.

Shen Xingzhuo squeezed the terracotta figure in his hand and silently put it away.

……

Does this mean we have a chance to enter the ghost stories and help Sister Shen?

[I hate it! I should have studied combat properly at military academy! I'm such a weakling, I don't even qualify to be Sister Shen's soldier!]

Why does Sister Shen's expression not seem like she likes this prop?

[A procession of ghostly soldiers...that sounds a bit like the underworld.]

However, if Sister Shen needs it, even if it's... I'm willing!

[If Sister Shen calls, I will respond!]

【Me too!】

【I also have a +StarCraft identity code!】

[Next, shall we proceed with the settlement process?]

……

In ghost stories.

Shen Xingzhuo and the ghost story did not have any further dialogue.

[This ghost story features 66 NPCs, and the Chosen One will receive 66 Mysterious Crystals. These Mysterious Crystals can be used to exchange for special items!]

You're lucky; you haven't reached the point where you need to use special items yet.

The ghost story made a strange, sarcastic remark.

Shen Xingzhuo: "Mm."

He did not wish to say more.

[A major NPC was detected voluntarily sacrificing himself for the Chosen Ones, an unprecedented event.]

[Therefore, the Chosen One's wish power is doubled, totaling 20 points of pure wish power! This will permanently increase the Chosen One's 'Luck' by 15 points.]

[The Chosen One's personal attributes have been updated.]

[The rewards for completing this ghost story event have been distributed. The next challenge will begin in twenty days.]

[The chosen ones can use their points to redeem reward items in the void.]

See you next time.

The sounds of ghost stories have vanished into the void.

Shen Xingzhu licked her dry lips, sat down on the ground somewhat exhausted, and opened the points redemption panel.
