Chapter 129 The Treasury of Mind

Shazam's resistance was unexpectedly resolute.

Even the combined efforts of Superman and Wonder Woman couldn't break his resolve.

Diana seemed to have thought of something and tried to induce Shazam to revert to Billy Batson's state.

"You think I don't know what you're thinking?"

Shazam spread his hands, his tone sarcastic.

"Zeus not only endowed me with magic, but also strengthened my spirit, while Solomon's wisdom will enable me to hold my own in disputes with you."

"If I turn back into Billy, I'll really just be a kid, easily persuaded by you guys."

"Regardless of your opinion, I have taken over the responsibility and power from the old wizard. Even if you expel me from the Justice League, I still need to protect the legacy of the ancient wizards that remains there!"

"You think a child can't handle these things? Are you really going to leave me to guard the Eternal Council alone? When those evil dark mages come knocking, I might not only be unable to defeat them, but I might not even be able to seek your help."

With Solomon's prompting, Shazam cleverly passed the question back to Superman and his crew.

Use their own spear to attack their own shield.

Diana pulled at her hair with both hands, feeling furious with the old wizard she had never met before.

"What kind of person would choose a child as their successor?"

Superman lowered his head and pondered for a while.

"Is it possible that we could take over the seven deadly sins sealed by the Eternal Council and bring them under the control of the Justice League, so that Shazam's responsibilities could be relieved?"

Diana sighed.

"That puts the blame on the other magicians in the Justice League. Are you sure you have the right to make this decision?"

Batman's voice suddenly rang out behind Superman.

"Zatana and the others won't be able to get away for a while."

To guard against the God of War repeatedly causing trouble in the shadows, the magicians who had just joined the Justice League were diligently setting up a multi-dimensional monitoring magic array.

Superman seemed to have just remembered this as well, and sat down in his chair with a slumped head.

Batman suddenly turned his gaze to Superman, and then gave Li Zhen a slight nod.

Superman and Lee Jung understood each other, stood up, and followed Batman out of the conference room.

Diana watched the three figures leave, somewhat bewildered, and for a moment felt absurd.

"What's going on? Why does Li Zhen suddenly seem to have a good understanding with them?"

Firestorm paused for a moment, then pointed to himself.

"You're asking me?"

Aquaman's voice echoed softly.

"To be honest, I often thought that the three of you used to just exchange a glance and walk away together."

The three of them moved away from the conference room and went all the way to the vicinity of the circular corridor before Batman pulled out a transparent glass box.

The box was lined with velvet, and the spy Atom, who was still in a coma, had been shrunk and was lying in the center of the velvet, looking extremely peaceful.

Superman rubbed his arms together with his hands crossed.

"The thought of putting someone into my ear feels strange to me."

-

Batman opened the glass box, used a ring-sized gravity device to take Atom out, and then calmly spoke while gesturing for Superman to crouch down a little.

"I had Cyborg and Zatanna hypnotize Atom," she'll think she's always been inside you, but the powerful impact during the battle with Jeanne caused her to be unconscious for a while.

Batman carefully placed Atom into Superman's ear, then looked at Lee Jung.

"Regarding what you mentioned earlier, that the other side might still have people lying in wait in our world—"

Batman confessed to Li Zhen that he had no ideas at the moment, so he wanted to ask Li Zhen if she had any further thoughts.

Li Zhen really didn't expect that Batman was actually someone who was willing to brainstorm ideas.

Of course, this trait might only apply to the Justice League. If he were back in Gotham, he would definitely arrogantly refuse all help from outsiders.

Either you have to be raised from a young age like Nightwing, or you have to be like Superman who just drops by and helps the old Batman out with some trouble.

"I don't have the ability to remain conscious for extended periods in a time-traveling world, so my understanding of how some events unfold is rather vague."

Li Zhen attributed all the information he learned to the time-travel phenomenon, and whether Batman believed it or how much he believed it was none of his business.

So Lee Jung only briefly mentioned the existence of the Outsider, without even telling Batman that the Outsider was Alfred's reverse isomorph.

However, Lee Jung selectively revealed only some information, such as the secret society of super villains and the fact that outsiders have been operating independently in the shadows.

"outsider----"

Batman fell into deep thought.

"Someone without a legitimate identity, yet able to accurately obtain our information, and able to hide in a place that is almost impossible for us to find."

Batman silently opened the projection information of all the current members of the Justice League, rested his chin on his hand, and began to examine it.

Li Zhen revealed an expression of certainty.

Old Bat, after much suspicion, finally pointed the finger at his own teammate.

Even though the old members had fought side by side and the new members were personally vetted and recruited by Batman, he still believed that the outsider might be related to a member of the Justice League.

Superman, standing to the side, awkwardly twisted his head and pointed to his ear.

How long until she wakes up?

Batman stared intently at the list of all Justice League members, responding calmly.

"Three minutes and forty-two seconds."

Just as Superman was about to ask if he could leave first, the alarm suddenly sounded again in the watchtower.

Superman and Lee Jung exchanged a glance, then turned and headed back the way they had come.

Li Zhen quickened her pace a few steps, then suddenly turned back to look at Batman, who was still standing quietly in the same spot.

The latter stood directly beneath the alarm lights mounted on the ceiling, his entire body enveloped in flashing red light, still pointing at the projected list in front of him.

Only after noticing Li Zhen's gaze did Batman turn off the projection.

"Let's go."

Li Zhen narrowed her eyes slightly. In that fleeting glimpse just now, the projection that was originally covered with the portraits of Justice League members had clearly been mostly cleared away by Batman, leaving only two or three people.

How did this guy manage to clear himself of suspicion and identify the target?

But Batman simply walked past Li Zhen, his cape billowing past her eyes.

When the three returned to the conference room one by one, Shazam's rebellious teenager demeanor had vanished, leaving only a face full of anxiety and panic.

"The Eternal Council has been invaded again! Damn it, that place is a sieve; it feels like any guy can get in now."

Batman frowned slightly.

"Didn't Zatana and the others help you reinforce the Eternal Council's seal last time? There can't possibly be that many powerful mages on Earth who can unleash the Seven Deadly Sins at will."

"Forehead----"

Shazam's expression suddenly turned awkward; he realized he hadn't told everyone something.

"The Eternal Council not only seals the Seven Deadly Sins, but also contains other things."

"What?"

"Human knowledge, law, virtue, technology, art—if any one of these origins is plundered or destroyed, the human world will lose its corresponding way of thinking and its inspiration for innovation."

Upon hearing this, everyone's expression changed.

Diana is going crazy again.

"So which bastard entrusted so many important things to—a child for safekeeping?!"

Li Zhen suddenly fell into thought.

Virtue and art, things that don't seem that important, what kind of person would want to seize these things?
