Chapter 131 Request for Support

Under the devastating impact of the Despair Demon, the entire magical space of the Eternal Council began to tremble.

The Despair Demon was very careful, jumping away after every few strikes and turning back to carefully observe the statues representing the seven deadly sins.

Seeing that there was no response, they continued to smash things.

Rocks kept falling from the top of the cave, and the Material Master could only barely maintain his balance by holding onto a thick stone pillar.

The Despair Demon looked at the massive, unmoving rock before him, then raised his hand, looked at his rapidly healing fist, and shook his head solemnly.

I've been smashing it for ages, and my fists are bleeding from the scraping.

"Neither material power nor my mental strength can move this magic stone."

The Master of Matter glanced at the seven chains extending from the base of the Eternal Rock, each chain leading to a strangely shaped statue inside the cave.

At first, the Despair Demon, on Constantine's advice, used its immense strength to break several chains, but the statue representing the Seven Deadly Sins only let out a few eerie roars and did not come out of the statue.

Without Constantine's guidance, Despair immediately realized that the real key lay at the source of those chains, namely the Rock of Eternity.

"Outsiders are just asking us to attract the Justice League's attention. There's no need to completely break this rock, is there? Isn't it said that the Seven Deadly Sins are hidden inside?"

The materialist's somewhat timid voice rang out.

Despair Demon turned to look at the Material Master, whose legs were trembling uncontrollably, and frowned.

"We're going to give the Justice League a big gift, unleash the Seven Deadly Sins, and then we're off—where did Constantine go?"

There was no way to break it; the stone was completely unaffected by his physical or mental power. Only magic could possibly work.

"Bring Constantine here and be prepared to evacuate at any time. We can leave immediately once we release the Seven Deadly Sins."

Just as the still-shaken Master of Matter was about to speak, he suddenly heard a noise above his head. He instinctively dodged to the side, barely avoiding a basketball-sized boulder that was falling from above.

The Master of Matter looked back at the crater in the ground caused by the large rock and swallowed hard.

"I don't know, I didn't see him anywhere."

Despair frowned and suspiciously scanned the rest of the Eternal Council.

This was also his first time working with Constantine, so he didn't know the man's character.

Could it be that he's hiding because he's scared and afraid?

"This stone may require magical power to completely destroy; it will require Constantine's intervention."

The Demon of Despair closed its eyes, opened the eye on the top of its head, and its powerful spiritual energy began to spread and fill the entire space of the Eternal Council.

Before long, he indeed spotted something out of place.

According to the mental perception, Constantine was huddled in a corner, using magic to summon some rubble to cover himself. He stood there motionless, his left hand making some kind of gesture.

The Demon of Despair closed the spiritual eye on its forehead while angrily rebuking.

"What are you doing hiding there?! Come and help!"

Constantine did not respond to the Despair Demon.

A surge of anger rose within the latter, and the material beneath his forehead opened its eyes, intending to go and drag out the cowardly human mage.

But the reality he saw left him stunned.

Just moments ago, the Material Master was clinging to the stone pillar and screaming like a weakling, but now he had somehow touched the side of the giant Eternal Rock and reached out a hand towards the front.

"What are you doing?"

Just as Despair Demon uttered a question, he noticed that the Material Master's eyes were shrouded in a thin layer of mist.

Hmm? Has someone bewitched them with magic?

The Material Master's hand had already touched the Eternal Rock, and he was constantly rubbing it up and down.

The Despair Demon was so angry he almost laughed.

"Constantine, do you have to be so cowardly? It's one thing to hide yourself, but to control others to do your job is another. How could he possibly move this magic stone?"

Constantine, who had been hiding in the shadows, finally spoke.

"Ah, it feels so good to be trusted."

The Demon of Despair's expression froze for a moment, then became somewhat stiff.

"What do you mean?"

"The Seven Deadly Sins without a host won't cause much trouble for the Justice League, so we'll have to rely on you for this disruption mission."

Although he subconsciously felt that the Master of Matter did not have the ability to break through the Eternal Rock, the Despair Demon was still startled. The indifference he had shown when he was traveling with the Master was completely gone, and he quickly spoke up.

"Stop messing around. Where would he get the power to destroy this rock? If you're too scared to come over, just open the exit gate. The commotion we made earlier should be enough. We can probably leave now."

Constantine finally smiled.

"The Material Master can sense and manipulate many interesting fundamental elements—perhaps breaking through from the inside is a good option."

Despair Demon's eyes widened, and with a leap, he lunged at the Material Master.

"Idiot! Stop touching me!"

Suddenly, the Master of Matter, whose eyes were shrouded in magical smoke, perked up and his face lit up with joy.

"Your cigarettes taste really good. Where did you say you bought them from? Egypt?"

Suddenly, a crack appeared in the Eternal Rock, which had remained motionless under immense external force. Immediately afterward, a cigarette flew out and was caught between the fingers of the Material Master.

Well, in this silly boy's hallucination, Constantine is offering him cigarettes again.

While stuffing Egyptian cigarettes into his mouth, he was violently knocked away by the Despair Demon's fist. In mid-air, the Material Master even deliberately rubbed a flame and lit the cigarette with a comfortable expression.

With a thud, the Material Master crashed into the pile of rubble, and a series of muffled coughs rang out.

"This one's really strong, and why does it hurt my back after I took it?"

Despair Demon suddenly felt a chill behind him.

He had only turned his head halfway when he caught a glimpse of a wisp of black smoke roaring as it rushed into his body.

An uncontrollable rage rose within the Despair Demon's heart, turning even his eyes bloodshot.

Constantine stopped casting the spell, a slight smile playing on his lips.

Last time, he came to the Council of Eternity with Shazam and Black Adam to stop Pandora and Sivana from fighting each other to the death.

However, because Black Adam kept his eyes on him, Constantine carefully refrained from making a move.

They even enthusiastically assisted the two successors of the Eternal Council in repairing the Eternal Stone, which was almost destroyed.

Of course, I just casually stuffed a cigarette into the crack.

Feeling the angry consciousness intruding into his mind, the Despair Demon opened his third eye, attempting to resist with his mental power.

Surprisingly, the seven deadly sins alone couldn't affect him. A fierce figure composed of black smoke, seemingly illusory and scattered, was slowly squeezed out of the body by the Despair Demon.

Unfortunately, when this guy came in, he pulled three chains under Constantine's flattery.

Two more plumes of black smoke broke free from the completely unrestrained statue, pushing the rage that was almost expelled from its body into the body of the Despair Demon.

Just then, a wooden door appeared out of thin air, and Shazam pushed it open with his large hand.

Because of the lingering threat from Empress Jeanne, the Justice League did not send out its entire force; instead, they assigned two people to accompany Shazam.

Superman and Firestorm followed closely behind Shazam as they entered.

Superman was the first to recognize the constantly roaring pink muscleman and immediately sensed the difficulty.

"Why is it the Demon of Despair?"

Shazam quickly checked the statue corresponding to the broken chain.

"Wrath, gluttony, and greed have emerged!"

Only then did Shazam begin to question Superman's question.

"What happened to the Despair Demon?"

"Power comparable to mine, capable of suppressing Martian Manhunter's mental strength... I guess those three deadly sins you mentioned earlier can also grant him magical powers?"

Superman looked miserable.

"Let's call for backup. It would be best if Li Zhen could come over, otherwise how are we supposed to fight?"
