A dilapidated attic.

Although the homeowner meticulously and patiently cleaned all the dust, and the items inside were arranged neatly enough.

However, it is still evident that the house was uninhabited for at least a long period of time, as the old wooden planks creaked under the weight of the floorboards when one stepped on them.

There was also a glass of water on the bedside table.

Looking down, I saw the white bandage wrapped around my chest, and my right arm suspended in front of my chest by a splint and plaster cast.

He pushed open the equally old wooden door with his left hand, and a slight, musty smell wafted to his nose.

As Li Zhen walked down the stairs of the attic step by step, he once again truly felt the reassuring gravity.

This is Earth.

Although it wasn't the one he was familiar with, and in some ways it was probably even more dangerous than Witrum during the Civil War.

But at least, this is Earth.

There will be no indifferent or irritable instructors forcing him to kill his comrades with whom he spends every day, and there will be no compulsory course where even if he has done his best to complete the training targets, he will be thrown into the cage of some ugly alien beast and forced to fight it to the death.

He wouldn't need to join the squad to slaughter billions of vulnerable lives under duress, simply because that civilization's will to resist was unyielding.

If he were a natural-born Witrum alien, that would be fine.

A clean sheet of white paper is all you can use to write; it will only produce yet another qualified Witrum warrior.

But he happens to be an Earthling.

Two completely different spirits intertwined and dominated his mind. The cruel survival rules he had understood at the age of five did not help him forget the more than twenty years of ordinary and peaceful life he had lived.

Countless nightly nightmares depicted him being sent by the planet Witrum to conquer his former life's Earth, and then, in a state of extreme fear and tyranny, he personally strangled the person closest to him.

A distant memory flashed by, and Li Zhen raised her still-intact arm, pinching her brow with two fingers.

The living room on the first floor was not spacious. Besides the old sofa and an old-fashioned television, there was a row of rather primitive farm tools neatly arranged along the wall: a few hoes, an iron rake, a sickle hanging on the wooden wall, and a straw hat.

Li Zhen's gaze lingered on the straw hat for a moment.

Although his consciousness was almost nonexistent before he lost consciousness, he was certain he couldn't have misread it.

"With that guy around, how could Earth possibly be rated as a resort-level planet in the database of Witrum?"

Li Zhen was completely numb. To prevent his injuries from worsening, he had been in a frozen, slumbering state the whole way. He didn't even have time to check the lifeboat's logbook after waking up.

A second time?

Or is this actually some kind of hybrid American comic book world?

I was so busy memorizing Earth's coordinates that I didn't have time to check the database on Witrum to see if there was a planet called Krypton in this universe.

Theoretically, it does not exist.

If there were a race in this universe that could be a formidable adversary to the Vitrumians under the radiation of the yellow sun, then at least the Vitrumians' instructors would have mentioned it a few times when they were reprimanding those kids.

All special races that could threaten the warriors of Vitrum were the only subjects taught in Vitrum culture classes.

Even civilizations inferior to those of Void are highlighted, let alone Krypton.

Looking at the houses that were laid out before him, Li Zhen began to ponder his current situation.

If he wasn't captured, the other side probably thought he was some kind of alien refugee, but why was his living place so rudimentary?

I caught the sound of waves not far away, and looking in that direction, I could see the sunlight and the boundless sea through the window.

Even if they are alien refugees, if they don't stay in a lonely fortress in the Arctic, they should at least be in a Hall of Justice or a watchtower for easy monitoring.

The sound of waves crashing against the rocks rose and fell, mingling with the gentle rustling of the breeze through the window, adding a touch of life to the quiet attic.

Li Zhen leaned against the window, her fingertips touching the cool glass, her gaze fixed on the distant horizon where the sea met the sky.

He needed to figure out the time, his location, and who the man with the "S" sign was as soon as possible.

The Vitrum alien's physique allowed him to recover much faster than ordinary people. Although his injuries had not yet healed, basic mobility was no longer a problem.

He moved his intact left leg, feeling a slight soreness in the muscles, and then, supporting himself against the wall, slowly walked to the center of the living room.

Next to the old-fashioned television set was a wooden cabinet with peeling paint, and a small brass lock hung on the cabinet door.

Li Zhen tried to gently pry it open with her left hand, and the copper lock broke instantly.

Even when severely injured, the Vitrum aliens possess strength far exceeding the imagination of Earthlings.

Several old clothes and a yellowed diary were neatly folded inside the wooden cabinet.

He picked up the diary, his fingertips brushing against the rough pages, and turned to the first page.

The handwriting is a bit rough, and the records are mostly everyday trivia.

"The wind and waves are very strong at the beach today, and the fishing net is torn again. It will have to be repaired tomorrow."

"Mrs. Jane from next door sent over a bowl of seafood soup, which tasted very good."

"The radio said something strange was happening in the city, that there were people who could fly. I hope it doesn't affect the beach."

Li Zhen quickly flipped through the diary, her heart sinking with each page.

The diary entries span only six months, with the latest entry being three days ago, which reads, "I found an injured seabird today. I hope it gets better soon."

There was no mention of any key information about "superheroes" or "aliens"; the only relevant detail was the phrase "people who can fly."

Li Zhen couldn't help but feel lost.

The S-shaped symbol represents the ability to fly in outer space, as well as the bio-field he vaguely heard before he fell unconscious.

Didn't Superman save him?

Suddenly, Li Zhen caught a faint sound.

He quickly put the diary back in its place and subconsciously kicked the broken brass lock on the wooden floor under the sofa.

The next second, the wooden door to the attic was gently pushed open, and a middle-aged man in blue overalls walked in.

The man was tall with slightly rough skin and a face bearing the rough lines etched by the sea breeze.

He saw Li Zhen standing in the center of the living room, a hint of surprise flashed in his eyes, which then turned into a gentle smile.

"You're awake?"

The man's voice was low and hoarse, tinged with weariness.

"How are you feeling?"

Li Zhen tensed up instantly, her left hand clenching quietly, and the remaining power within her body began to gather rapidly.

He didn't speak, but just stared at the man warily, trying to judge whether he was hostile from the other's expression and movements.

The man seemed to sense his wariness, stopped, and raised his hands to indicate that he meant no harm.

"Don't be afraid, I won't hurt you."

"Superman brought you here. He said you were badly injured and needed a quiet environment to recover."

Li Zhen remained tense.

Although he felt a little relieved after hearing the word "Superman," he had to continue pretending until he fully understood the situation in this world.

Although as an "alien" relative to Earth, Lee Jung probably knew.

If it were truly a world of Superman, then on a significant number of alien planets, Superman would possess an unbelievable reputation.

But this also made Li Zhen begin to seriously examine the specific circumstances of this world.

During the more than ten years he spent on Witrum, he had never heard of Superman on Earth in this universe.

Which universe am I in right now?
