Li Zhen had imagined many different reactions from Batman.

Among the scenarios he felt were most likely, Batman would habitually use silence to resist the ridiculous request.

But he didn't expect Batman to throw the question back at him.

"Do you really want my apology, or do you just want to vent your anger on me?"

Li Zhen's brows furrowed slightly, then quickly relaxed.

He felt he couldn't get caught up in Batman's rhythm.

But Batman actually stepped forward and started asking more questions, maintaining control of the conversation throughout.

"If you just want to vent, then that is indeed the part I should personally atone for."

Batman stood in front of Li Zhen, with no more than a foot between them. Li Zhen could easily raise her hand and gently press down.

At this distance, Li Zhen could take the life of this legendary figure without expending much effort.

This guy, does he have to be so stubborn when he admits his mistake?

Li Zhen shook her arm, then shook her head and sneered. "You'd rather die than submit, huh? Well, that's right, otherwise how could you be called a bat..."

Batman suddenly raised his hand to stop Li Zhen from continuing, and then did something surprising.

He slowly placed his hands on either side of the helmet, forcefully pried open the buckles with his knuckles, and then released the heavy helmet, letting it fall to the ground.

Li Zhen was stunned.

If I remember correctly, this was the first time this man, who was tough to the core, had openly revealed both of his identities to me.

This has never happened before.

Whether it's Superman, his nemesis the Joker, or even Catwoman, who has a romantic entanglement with him.

They may know Batman's true identity, but without exception, they all cooperate with Batman in his act, performing scenes where Batman is Batman and Bruce is Bruce.

Because Batman has always been incredibly firm in distinguishing between the two, that mental split has even reached the point of madness.

The damp, black hair that had been trapped by the helmet clung to his pale skin, and several faint old scars from years of combat were soaked with the sweat from the sweltering heat of the underground base.

A deep vertical line was etched between his brows, his skin and flesh were squeezed together, and his once sharp and even brow peaks, which were still neat and even in his thirties, had completely collapsed.

The helmet and mask were the man's last line of defense, keeping his indifference and all other emotions hidden from the outside world. Now, even the sweat seeping from every pore was laid bare before Li Zhen.

Li Zhen could probably tell that this man had recently had a breakdown.

"I'm begging you to give me a chance. I've never entrusted the choices to others in the past."

"Kill me to vent your anger, or let me live and witness my transformation."

Several magicians behind him let out strange cries, and some of the bolder ones, such as the Enchantress, even took a few steps forward, trying to catch a glimpse of Batman's true face.

Constantine, unusually, remained completely still, instead gently stroking his index finger, which had just been reattached by magic.

"An idiot who can't read the room."

Li Zhen retrieved Batman's helmet with near-time-stopping speed, while simultaneously shielding Batman with her body and gritting her teeth as she handed the helmet back.

As for Enchantress, who tried to peek at Batman's appearance, she was already hanging from a tree not far from the base in the blink of an eye.

"Fine, fine, you've given in. But when you used this tactic, didn't you consider how the other guy felt?"

Li Zhen was referring to the unjust bat, who was not far away and had a dark expression on his face, remaining silent.

"If you just walk away, wouldn't that be like opening the box for another version of yourself?" Injustice frowned but didn't speak. Batman, on the other hand, calmly took the helmet, put it back on, and fastened it before explaining.

"The Superman regime once tried to expose Batman's identity. Although he activated the Icarus Protocol to disrupt all network communications built on the Watchtower, Superman ultimately succeeded."

In other words, the Unjust Bat is already in a state of being unpacked in this world.

In the distance, the bewitching witch, clutching her bruised eye socket, jumped down from the tree. Li Zhen's sense of proportion regarding power meant she wasn't actually hurt too badly, but now she was more concerned about another issue.

The enchantress, her face full of curiosity, sought confirmation from her other fellow magicians.

"Superman revealed Batman's true identity to the whole world? How come I didn't know?"

Constantine clicked his tongue but didn't respond.

The witch child Coralion, who was holding a big fat cat named Titi, responded irritably.

"You disdain electronic products in the human world; you don't even own a cell phone. How would you know about this?"

The Enchantress retorted very seriously.

"Couldn't Superman just put this in the newspaper and send some magical pets to deliver the message?"

Faust rolled his eyes as if he were looking at a mentally challenged child. "This isn't a magical world, witch. We communicate via the internet."

"……All right."

The enchantress fell silent and began casting a spell to repair the bruise on her eye socket caused by Li Zhen's instantaneous punch.

The Unjust Bat finally had a chance to speak.

He first coordinated the movements of the resistance fighters within the base to prevent a potential confrontation between Morgana Lefebvre and the demon Etrigan.

He then turned and led the way, taking Li Zhen and some kind of haphazard magician back into the base.

During the conversation, the unjust bat also briefly explained their current situation.

The Superman regime, under the rule of Superman enhanced by the Yellow Lantern Ring, has become increasingly efficient, and now they have few places left that can truly be called safe to hide in.

"I previously built many hidden bases under natural lead mines, but now Superman is following the map and digging all over the world along lead mine veins, and has already destroyed many bases that have not yet been put into use."

Especially recently, after the Superman regime completed negotiations with Atlantis, even the underwater mining bases could not be defended.

"Even if we were to launch a final showdown with the Superman regime, we couldn't all fight them in the open. The Superman regime, which was transformed from the Justice League, has far too many powerful fighters."

Lee Jung always seems to spot some blind spots. "Didn't Aquaman Arthur collude with the Superman regime?"

"As the king of Atlantis, it is impossible for him to agree with the ideology of Superman's regime. After Superman's tyranny is fully implemented, it will be difficult for Atlantis, as a non-human kingdom, to continue to stand on Earth."

Of course, Aquaman simply chose to withdraw early; his individual strength was simply insufficient to challenge Superman.

Especially after Superman, Shazam, and Wonder Woman dug the entire Atlantis plate out of the sea and put it in the desert to scorch for a week.

Forced by the lives of his people, Aquaman had no choice but to yield and sign a series of unequal treaties with Superman's regime on behalf of the Kingdom of Atlantis.

It seems like I vaguely remember this clip from the comic.

Li Zhen rubbed her chin.

"There's nowhere left to hide on the ground, and the seabed will be dug out sooner or later."

The rebel forces of the Unjust Bats are now in dire straits.

Of course, this can actually be overcome by force.

For example, make things difficult for Li Zhen, so that he can take on several of the top fighters of the Superman regime in the subsequent battles.

Superman, Shazam, Wonder Woman, The Flash, and Yellow Lantern Hal. With this, the rebels wouldn't even need to find a base to hide in, and they wouldn't even need to plan any tactics. They wouldn't even need to take many of the Superman drugs to completely crush the Superman regime.

The problem is, Li Zhen doesn't owe them anything.

He's neither a saint nor a nanny; it's already quite an achievement that he's willing to help the Unjust Universe and fight off Superman.

One against five is a risky situation, and losing is a minor matter compared to being sealed away.

At the crucial moment, Constantine surprisingly stepped forward.

"I have a place that can temporarily serve as the next rebel base, and it's highly likely that it won't need to be moved again for some time."

Facing the gazes that were focused on him, Constantine, with a sincere expression, snapped his fingers while puffing on his cigarette.

"The Secret House is not in reality. It has a huge interior space, but it's a bit dirty and messy, so you have to be patient."

Li Zhen raised an eyebrow.

Hmm? Isn't it called the Mysterious House? He had just realized he had one too.

Perhaps it's because the universes are different, hence the different names?

Li Zhen didn't dwell on it, after all, he finally felt confident enough to face the two little ones, Mal and Mia. "Your chance to train has come; opportunities to spar with Superman are rare."

Mal and Mia, both feeling down, exchanged a glance, a mixture of fear and excitement swirling within them.

"Shall we fight Superman?"

Li Zhen smiled.

"No, it's just to have you join the resistance and cause trouble for Superman's regime. Just don't get caught by Superman."
