My name is Iris West.

I live in the city center and have a boyfriend who is a policeman.

Barry would always correct me, saying he was a forensic expert.

Therefore, his job is even busier than that of a police officer, and he often needs to work overtime.

But I like to call him "police officer," which makes every night I finally get to spend with him feel more interesting.

He often shares his work experiences with me, some of which are frightening, and some are disgusting.

But this also proves that Barry trusts me a lot, which makes me incredibly confident in our relationship.

Except for one thing, which he kept hidden for a long time.

Of course, when I found out he was the man who was so fast, I didn't blame him.

Barry is a very shy person, but he would still whisper to me that being with me was his good fortune.

He also started sharing things about his other job with me, and every time he came back, whether he was happy or frustrated, he would tell me.

Until last night.

Barry returned earlier than ever before.

He was curled up on the sofa with the TV on, but his eyes were glazed over.

I put down my bag, went over and hugged his head, stroking his short, golden hair.

"What's wrong, my little policeman?"

This time, Barry had been planning it for a long time.

He used a lot of language to describe it, and to prevent me from not being able to hear him if he spoke too fast, he would often pause and wait for my feedback.

It took me about ten minutes to figure out the core of the short story he shared tonight.

With the help of a boy named Lee Jung, Superman found a relative.

Barry grabbed a pillow from the sofa, hugged it to his chest, and looked a little dazed.

The television screen shone on his face, but his pupils seemed to be looking at something else entirely.

"Clark was especially happy when they parted ways. He said he finally had a blood relative on Earth."

I know Barry misses his mother.

"I want to go see her."

Barry suddenly said.

I twisted his ear.

"You've said more than once that changing time is a very dangerous thing."

"I know, I know."

Barry pleaded.

"I'll just take a look from afar and then leave. I won't change anything, you know that."

"I mean what I say."

I softened.

But I know my Barry wouldn't lie; he just went to check.

Then he put on a coat and went out of the house.

I picked up the pillow he had been hugging and continued watching TV on the sofa.

But actually I can't concentrate on those TV shows either. Time travel sounds too sci-fi, and I can't help but worry about it.

I started counting, figuring out how long Barry would probably be gone.

But a night passed.

Barry still hasn't returned.

Until a ray of sunlight slanted in through the window.

A figure covered in blood suddenly appeared in the living room.

"Oh my God!"

I was terrified.

"Barry, what happened to you in the past?"

The man turned around; his helmet was damaged, his blond hair was disheveled, and there were clearly drops of blood on his head.

It was dirty and messy, and I couldn't see his face clearly.

"Iris?"

He looked at me with a puzzled expression.

"What's going on? If I succeed and the whole world changes, why am I still wearing this battle suit?"

He muttered rapidly to himself, his whole being filled with anxiety and unease.

I know that at times like this, Barry often needs a hug.

But he pushed me away.

He seemed somewhat incoherent.

"No, no, wait! Iris, you're too young!"

"Where did you learn this? You never used to say such funny sweet nothings."

"Oh my god, how am I supposed to explain this?!"

He gestured wildly at me.

"This isn't my universe. I'm afraid I've come to the wrong place. I thought I had corrected the timeline this time, but for some reason, I ended up here!"

Then he glanced at me quickly and then started to criticize me.

"But seriously, Iris, you're so young you're practically glowing."

Now I finally know, this isn't my Barry.

Their personalities are so different; he's not shy at all.

It was only after he described it in a more composed manner that I roughly understood.

Time and space are always closely linked. Barry thought he could return to his own timeline, but he never expected to arrive in another universe.

Although I didn't really understand, I pretended to know a lot because I wanted to soothe Barry's emotions.

He looked tired and somewhat frightened.

I started using my imagination to strike up a conversation with him.

"I was wondering why my Barry hadn't come back for so long. It sounds like you and the Barry of this world have ended up in the wrong place."

Unexpectedly, these words seemed to have the exact opposite effect.

The battered Barry jumped up like a cat with its fur standing on end.

"He went to my place?!"

Then his wide-open mouth stopped moving, as if there was something he was having trouble saying.

"He's not as good with words as you are, and he won't flirt with your Iris."

I have complete confidence in my Barry, even though he is young, he never makes mistakes.

"No, God, what I mean is, what happens when the world needs him?"

"Aren't you here? You're older, you look more like a warrior, you're the Flash too. You'll protect this world for the Flash who's not here, right?"

Although this wasn't my Barry, I still reached out and ruffled his hair.

"He will also protect your world when you're not around, and I believe he will do so."

Barry remained silent for a long time.

His gaze toward me was filled with complex emotions.

Pain, regret, and more.

Guilt.

"I will."

He lowered his head, as if he had made up his mind, and then avoided my hand.

Then a device on his waist suddenly lit up.

I recognize this device; it's the Justice League's communicator.

Although the worlds are different, it seems that the signal frequency belonging to The Flash is the same.

Then a grown man's voice, trembling with sobs, came through the communicator.

"Oh, Flash, why can't I get in touch with you all night!"

He recognized the voice and seemed somewhat excited.

"You are... Shazam! It's so heartwarming to hear you speak again."

"Stop being so comforting, something terrible has happened! Everyone's arguing! Aquaman called an online meeting through Cyborg an hour ago and said that as the King of Atlantis, he's withdrawing from the Justice League!"

"What?!"

Barry seemed particularly shocked.

"Many people are saying that the Justice League needs to be re-evaluated. Even Wonder Woman angrily rebuked Batman, saying that she would temporarily withdraw until the hidden dangers on Themyscira are investigated!"

I saw the battered and bruised Flash tremble with fear.

His expression was one of great pain, as if his heart had been squeezed tightly.

"Explain yourself clearly, why exactly did this happen!"

"What did they each say at the end?"

He even started yelling at Shazam.

Shazam's voice grew even louder, almost as if he were roaring at The Flash.

Shazam used his brain to summarize everything to the limit in a short period of time.

"Aquaman said that without Lee Jung, he would have almost let down the people of Atlantis. Wonder Woman said that Batman has always distrusted Lee Jung's sincerity, but his actions are far less sincere than that."

"Who is Lee Jung?! Why have I never heard of this name before?"

A live broadcast suddenly interrupted the TV that had been left on all night.

"Hello everyone, I'm Louise from Planet Media..."

The communicator had lost contact at some point. The Flash watched the television screen silently until his eyes began to bloodshot with anger.

"This cannot happen again. I must investigate this myself!"

He turned to look at me and made a promise to me about what I had just said.

"You're right, Iris. I need a replacement—a temporary replacement for the Flash here. I will correct all the wrong course of this world."

"I mean what I say!"

Watching the golden lightning disappear, I suddenly felt a little scared.

His last look was terrifying.

He's not my Barry!
