The aliens who were picked up by Superman at the beginning
Chapter 8 The Deep Ocean
Li Zhen did not fully follow Tom's rules.
They sailed with Tom to a certain part of the ocean, set up fishing nets and rods together, and waited patiently for a whole morning.
Looking at the still empty fish bucket, Li Zhen stood up.
Tom seemed to understand Li Zhen's intentions, sighed, and offered a word of advice.
"The seawater is very dirty; it will worsen the wound if it gets in."
Li Zhen responded by tearing off the bandages on her body and gesturing to Tom to show him the scar on her chest that was now only a light pink mark.
"Thank you for your concern, Tom. I'll go down to the seabed and catch you some big fish."
Then, with a light tap of his toes, Li Zhen's body slowly flew away from Tom's small fishing boat.
She dared not step too hard. Although she had enjoyed several days of leisure, Li Zhen had already gotten used to familiarizing herself with her enhanced strength in battle.
Now that there is no suitable opponent, his strength has suddenly more than doubled. If he is not careful, he might be able to smash Tom's fishing boat, which he relies on for survival, with a single kick.
After flying to a point about two or three meters above the sea, Li Zhen stretched out his arms, took a deep breath of the salty sea breeze, and plunged into the deep blue sea.
When the icy seawater enveloped her, Li Zhen actually felt a refreshing sensation.
The Vitrum alien's physique meant he didn't need to worry about water pressure or lack of oxygen. The darkness of the deep sea was no different from daytime to him. As far as he could see, the scales of the swimming fish shimmered in the dim light, their tracks as clear as if slowed down several times.
"This speed is much slower than the targets in the training camp."
Li Zhen thought to himself, his body slightly sinking as he chased after a group of mackerel swimming together not far away.
He deliberately slowed down his movements, and just as his fingertips were about to touch the tail fin of the fish at the very edge, the fish suddenly thrashed out as if it had been pricked by a needle.
The entire school of fish scattered instantly, leaving only a string of bubbles rising in the water.
Li Zhen paused for a moment, then frowned.
Even though he had made his movements extremely light and even deliberately concealed his aura, how could he have been detected?
Li Zhen didn't believe in superstitions. Although he had never gone to sea to catch fish in his two lifetimes, he was able to live well and achieve excellent results on Witrum.
A mere few lower life forms on Earth.
After surveying the area for a while, he spotted a lone grouper swimming by.
This fish is stout and swims slowly, looking clumsy.
This time, Li Zhen slowed her heartbeat, approaching slowly like a lurking hunter.
When he was less than a meter away from the grouper, he suddenly reached out and his fingertips precisely gripped the fish's body.
Just as his fingertips were about to touch the scales, the grouper suddenly exerted its strength, its body slippery and twisting, managing to slip through his fingers and splash up a cloud of mud that blurred his vision.
Damn it.
Li Zhen cursed under his breath and brushed away the mud and sand in front of him.
After failing twice in a row, Li Zhen began to doubt whether she was still not proficient enough in controlling her strength.
After recovering from his serious injuries, his strength doubled, but he hasn't fully adapted to this change yet.
He didn't realize it when he was deliberately restrained at the fishing hut, but perhaps he was too relaxed at this moment in the sea.
He closed his eyes to calm himself down and locked onto his target again.
This is a medium-sized yellow croaker, swimming slowly and seemingly unaware of the danger.
Li Zhen was extra careful this time, suppressing her strength to the minimum, and gently cupped the fish's body with her fingertips.
The fish felt cool and slippery to the touch. Just as he was about to apply a little force to steady it, he heard a "whoosh" sound. The yellow croaker flicked its tail and escaped from his palm, leaving his hand wet and slippery.
Despite failing three times in a row, Li Zhen remained patient, but her heart unconsciously pumped blood with increased force.
A slight heat rose in my chest.
He had never stumbled on such "low-difficulty targets" in the training camp on Witrum.
No, these are not easy goals. In Li Zhen's opinion, this should just be a game.
"Stop right there!"
No longer consciously suppressing speed and power, his body shot forward like an arrow towards a slightly larger sea bass.
The sea bass seemed to sense a deadly danger and fled in terror, but its speed was still laughably slow in Li Zhen's eyes.
Just as he was about to catch up, Li Zhen suddenly reached out to grab him.
This time, the moment the fingertip touched the fish, a crisp "crack" was heard, and the sea bass's spine was snapped, causing the fish to instantly go limp.
Blood seeped through his fingers and spread in the seawater.
Li Zhen stared at the lifeless fish in her hand for a while before casually tossing it aside.
Looking further into the deep sea, a huge black shadow was slowly swimming there—a tuna.
The tuna was over a meter long and probably weighed at least 80 kilograms. It swam steadily and powerfully.
Li Zhen's body suddenly sank, and she charged towards the tuna like a cannonball.
This time, he didn't even intend to reach out and grab it; he only wanted to use his body to force the other person to stop.
A muffled "bang" was particularly clear in the silent deep sea.
The shoulder slammed into the tuna's body, and the enormous impact instantly shattered the tuna.
He could even clearly feel the sensation of his bones shattering, a feeling he had experienced more than once with other opponents on Vitrum.
The next second, the tuna's blood gushed out like a fountain, quickly forming a thick blood mist around him, turning his vision dark red.
Li Zhen hovered in the center of the blood mist, looked down at her hands, and suddenly smiled helplessly.
These hands are capable of tearing apart the outer shell of a spaceship traversing interstellar space and shattering hard cosmic meteorites.
"I seem to have been influenced by Witrum's culture in ways I wasn't aware of."
He stayed in the deep sea for another half hour, no longer in a hurry to achieve results, but slowly exploring the degree of control over his power.
When his fingertips touch the fish's body, he first feels the smoothness of the scales, and then gently adjusts the pressure.
Even so, some fish were either crushed by him or managed to escape.
It wasn't until an hour later that Li Zhen finally grasped some of the tricks of the trade.
He held his breath and carefully caught two small, silvery-white, unidentified sea fish, making sure he had just the right amount of force to restrain them without harming them.
Just as he was about to rise to the surface, one of the fish suddenly started to struggle. He subconsciously increased his strength and heard a "crack" sound. The fish's head was crushed by his hand, and blood flowed all over his hand.
Li Zhen stared at the fish in her hand and sighed helplessly.
He gave up trying to continue, clutching the only remaining, relatively intact fish, and with a swift movement, rose rapidly towards the surface of the sea.
As he broke through the water's surface, he shook the water droplets off his head, took a deep breath of fresh air, and looked up to see Tom sitting on the fishing boat, holding a fishing rod, calmly watching him.
"How was the harvest?"
Tom's voice carried a hint of amusement as his gaze fell on the fish in his hand, which was being squeezed until it was somewhat deformed.
Li Zhen pouted slightly, tossed the fish into the empty bucket on the fishing boat, her tone tinged with resentment.
"The fish here are too sensitive, and... I'm not used to Earth's gravity yet."
Tom smiled, put down his fishing rod, picked up the bucket next to him, scooped up some seawater, and poured it into the bucket.
"Fishing isn't about brute force. Just like understanding your enemy on the battlefield, here you have to understand the ocean."
Li Zhen leaped into the sky, looked up and felt the sunlight on her skin. She twisted her waist and turned into a blur, shaking off all the moisture from her body.
As I landed gently and steadied myself on the fishing boat, Tom's voice suddenly rang out.
"Do you want to become a superhero?"
