From picking up corpses to becoming a true god of America

Chapter 27 Marvel isn't making science fiction movies.

Seven or eight police cars were parked at the entrance of Pier 7, and the flashing lights made the entire pier extremely tense.

Mike jumped out of the car quickly and, using the car door as cover, tried to load the magazine into the gun.

But perhaps he was too nervous, he tried several times in a row without success.

"Sir, perhaps you should try the other way around."

Seth chuckled and couldn't help but offer a reminder.

"Damn it, I know!"

Hearing the crisp click of the AR15 in his hand, Mike's tense and uneasy heart finally calmed down a lot.

He pressed his hand against the walkie-talkie on his chest and asked.

"Each group reports on its progress."

"Team A did not hear any gunshots from inside."

No suspicious activity was found in Group B.

"Team C has located refugees and is currently identifying them. Hey, all of you, get down on the ground!"

No special circumstances?

Mike stared at the walkie-talkie, increasingly confused.

Fifteen minutes ago, the caller reported that there was shooting at Pier 7, with gunfire as intense as during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.

But when Mike and his team arrived, the factory was deathly silent. There were no unusual noises at all, only shouts of "help" and "oh my god."

"Has the gunman gone into hiding?"

Seth thought for a moment, then gritted his teeth and suggested, "Let's get closer and take a look!"

"..."

A four-man assault team was quickly formed.

Seth led the way with his shield, followed closely by Mike and two others, shoulder to shoulder, each holding an AR15 rifle.

Before long, they saw many figures lying in the factory.

The hostages didn't seem very nervous or scared. Upon seeing Mike and his team, they even shouted, "Damn it, why did you take so long to get here!"

"Can you let us go back quickly? I have to go to work!"

"Sir, we're really not bad people!"

Mike instinctively wanted to shout something, but suddenly felt something was wrong, and the sound got stuck in his throat.

No, absolutely no!

These people didn't panic like people do during shootings; on the contrary, they didn't seem afraid at all!

If they hadn't been armed, these people probably would have run away long ago!

"What exactly happened inside? Where are those gang members?"

Mike asked.

"What else could have happened? Those bastards were all killed by one person!"

"You bunch of good-for-nothings are all late!"

What?

Upon hearing this, Mike suddenly became short of breath.

He discovered that although he could understand every single English word, he couldn't understand what the other person was saying.

A person?

Who is it?

Could it be that perverted Mickey Mouse, coming back to slaughter us again?!

Mike felt like he was going crazy.

But Seth remained remarkably calm and asked, "Who is that person? Did you see him?"

"You damn cops, how could you possibly find anyone so late!"

"That's right, even if I knew, I wouldn't tell you!"

"Now that the man is dead, let us go! You sissies, so timid and cowardly, you're not even half as good as that kid!"

As people voiced their doubts, the four members of the assault team felt increasingly uneasy.

This is so different from the training they received!

It felt like they were holding knives and forks, ready to eat steak, but the waiter brought them a bowl of soup as if it were their due.

Soon, Seth and his group entered the warehouse.

Blinding spotlights fell from above, illuminating every corner of the warehouse.

What they saw was not the hellish landscape, broken walls and corpses, that Seth and the others had imagined.

On the flat ground, more than twenty corpses lay scattered about, with various long and short guns strewn all over the place.

As an expert conducting on-site investigations, Seth suddenly felt pain, his body stiffened, and he began to hate the curse of knowledge.

He could tell at a glance from the direction the body was facing and the numerous bullet holes.

They seemed to be facing a terrifying monster, having expended all their bullets, or had their heads smashed by a punch, or their chests ripped apart by a bullet.

This bizarre yet logically consistent scene made him doubt his own knowledge for the first time.

"Seth, what did you find?"

Mike couldn't help but ask.

"I……"

"Say it!"

Faced with Mike's firm demands.

Seth, stiff and dazed, mumbled, "Mike, if I said all these people were killed by one person, would you believe me?"

"no……"

Mike was stunned.

He stretched out his hand, pointing incredulously to a pile of corpses not far away, and said, forcing himself to suppress his fear, "You mean, these twenty-odd armed bandits were killed by one person?"

"That's right."

Seth nodded, staring stiffly at the red dot on the opposite wall and the head that stared blankly into death, and said quietly.

"He even had the energy to score a world-class goal at the very end."

"WTF!?"

"Are you sure? It really was one person? He didn't tie these people up? And he didn't use poison gas?"

"..."

Mike felt like his worldview was about to collapse.

If what happened tonight is true, then it means that Marvel didn't make a science fiction film, but a damn documentary!

Just before Mike and the others arrived.

At the nearby seafood dock, Clifford finally found Ye Xiao in the crowd.

"Thank goodness, sir, you're alright!"

Clifford gripped Ye Xiao's shoulders tightly, as if afraid he would get lost.

But I noticed that Ye Xiao looked a little tired.

Clifford couldn't help but ask.

"Sir, are you alright?"

"Not good."

Ye Xiao waved his hand, looking disheveled.

"Damn it, the shooting next door scared me to death. A bunch of people suddenly appeared out of nowhere and said they were going to save me. They dragged me out before I even had a chance to pull up my pants."

"Pfft, sir, I'm sorry, I couldn't help it."

They were worried that Ye Xiao might encounter danger later.

Clifford thought for a moment and said, "Sir, you should drive back quickly. If you want seafood, I can deliver it to you tomorrow afternoon."

"Okay then."

After saying goodbye to Clifford, Ye Xiao drove the pickup truck onto the highway back to the city.

He wasn't driving fast, and the cold autumn wind poured in through the car window, but it couldn't dispel the gloom in his body.

I don't know if it's because my sanity level is too low.

Ye Xiao felt his head was foggy, as annoying as a lagging computer.

What should we do now?

Need to find a place to relax and recover my sanity?

But those are all quite expensive, and they're not clean either.

After thinking for a moment, Ye Xiao suddenly thought of someone and silently dialed a number.

Twenty minutes later, outside a suite at the Four Seasons Hotel.

Ye Xiao twisted his tired shoulders and reached out to ring the doorbell.

"Honestly, what do you want from me so late?"

Rachel's figure quickly appeared inside the door.

She seemed to have just taken a shower; her damp, short, golden hair carried a faint fragrance, and her fair, moist face made her even more beautiful and charming.

She was only wrapped in a bathrobe, revealing two smooth, fair, and slender legs, with her tender white feet resting on the ground.

"Ye, do you know how important sleep is for girls?"

Rachel stood with her hands on her hips, her eyebrows raised in a haughty manner, glaring with her bright blue eyes, and said aggressively.

"You'd better give me a good reason, or I'm really going to get angry!"

"Hey, wait a minute, Ye, what are you doing!"

"Me, uh!"
