American comics: Praising the sun, starting from Gotham!

Chapter 49 This isn't gold, it's life!

In the center of the battlefield, the figure that resembled a miniature sun simply raised his right hand, his index finger gently pointing at the chainsaw operators who were frantically cutting through the courtroom transport vehicle.

"This is the source of your sins."

The voice sounded ethereal and majestic on the battlefield, as if it were truly a divine pronouncement.

The next second, the halo behind Xiu En suddenly contracted, then transformed into a condensed golden pillar like a searchlight, enveloping the thugs.

In the pitch-black Gotham night, on the smoke-filled overpass, those few people were like the main characters on a stage, with a spotlight shining on them.

However, the protagonist's identity usually means being a sitting duck.

"Alvin, tell them what the consequences will be!"

"There!! Shatter that light!"

The thug leader was still roaring, trying to order his men to fire on Xiu En. But the dizziness from the bright light made it impossible for him to make out the man's exact features in the pale white blur.

However, death did not come from that light.

Light not only means illumination, but also a deeper shadow.

Within the long shadows cast by Xiu En, stretched out by the intense light, a figure suddenly leaped out.

Behind Alvin, the golden claw that was originally just a phantom instantly swelled up like a demon god under Xiu En's powerful energy.

This was a perfectly coordinated hunt.

Shuen was in charge of blinding and marking; anyone who tried to raise their weapon would immediately feel a blinding flash, as if someone had shoved a flashbang into their eye.

In the less than one-second window of time when they closed their eyes and screamed in agony, the golden claw phantom and Xiu En's golden breath had already arrived.

Alvin perfectly executed the violent aesthetics of Claw.

The weapons that the thugs who were originally holding RPGs or heavy machine guns had unknowingly turned into piles of scrap metal and flew into the air.

"This is the support you were talking about?"

Inside the Batmobile, Bruce's lips twitched slightly as he looked at the red dots on the thermal imager that had lost their fighting ability almost instantly.

Although his methods were violent, Alvin's control over his strength was terrifying.

All of them suffered comminuted fractures of the joints, resulting in immediate loss of mobility, but none of them were fatal.

This efficiency is comparable to my previous self.

Bruce didn't hesitate either; the non-lethal riot cannon on the side of the Batmobile fired precisely, pinning the thug who hadn't even had time to press the C4 detonator directly to the concrete pillar.

"Good teamwork."

He said coldly over the communication channel.

Less than three minutes.

An entire elite Blackmask assault team, equipped with heavy firepower, was wiped out.

All that remained at the scene were screams of agony as people rolled on the ground, and several armored vehicles that were otherwise intact except for a crack cut in the door.

The light dissipated.

Xiu En was even the only one who emerged from the darkness without a speck of dust on him.

The trench coat seemed to have built-in dust protection, which allowed him to maintain his sense of holiness.

He walked straight to the armored truck.

"This is ill-gotten gains."

Xiu En stroked the metal door, which had been cut in half by the high temperature, his tone filled with compassion.

"Leaving it to the world will only cause more conflict... Alvin, do you think we should carry it all the way back, or repackage it here?"

As soon as Xiu En's fingers touched the pile of gold coins, his fingertips felt a faint warmth that seemed to have a heartbeat, and a resonance that instantly activated the golden energy within his body.

"Oh ho."

He raised an eyebrow, picked up a coin with an owl emblem, and held it up to his still-glowing fingers.

It didn't seem to be gold; beneath that captivating gold, there flowed some kind of dark pattern, like blood vessels.

"Amber Gold".

Bruce's voice came from behind.

He had already stepped out of the Batmobile, the scanner in his hand emitting a rapid alarm as it scanned the pile of stolen goods.

"This is the core medium used by the Court of Owls to resurrect Claw. It's high-purity gold mixed with trace amounts of Dionysian factor and other alchemical products. Shuen, this isn't money, it's life."

Alvin, who was standing behind Xiu En, suddenly knelt down on one knee, his breathing becoming heavy.

Because the smell emanating from that amber-gold car was the smell of fuel etched into his very bones, the smell that had brought him back from the brink of death time and time again.

He lowered his head even further, his body trembling slightly as he restrained his instincts.

"My Lord Messenger, this is the sacred land that gives life."

"Look!" Xiu En turned around and tossed the amber gold coin in his hand.

"Even my security captain said it's a good thing. And since it's used to revive the dead, wouldn't it be the best tonic for someone like me who's about to die?"

You can't absorb it directly.

Bruce stepped forward, blocking Shuen from the carriage.

"The impurities inside could make you lose control. The court has a whole set of complicated rituals to deal with it."

"ceremony?"

Hugh chuckled. Having fully analyzed the Dionysian factor, he was unafraid of it. He opened his mouth and, under Bruce's shocked gaze, threw the amber-gold coin into it.

bang.

"My stomach is the best ritual."

Xiu En chewed it with relish, as if it were a piece of chocolate.

As the coin was swallowed, his previously pale face instantly glowed with a faint golden light, and even the heat from his breath carried a metallic scent.

"System notification: A mixture of high-energy metal and active factors has been detected. Lung enhancement progress +0.1%."

"Are you crazy?"

Bruce panicked for a moment when he saw the guy in front of him eating the highly toxic alchemical product like a snack.

"I call this making use of waste."

Xiu En clapped his hands, turned around and looked at the car full of amber gold, his eyes becoming incredibly kind.

"Anyway, the court will just use it to make those puppets that only kill people, so it might as well give it to me. I'll use it to... well, repair the church, or give some benefits to my believers."

He pointed to Alvin, who was kneeling on the ground.

"Pack it all up, Alvin. Take it all. If this giant bat tries to stop you, tell him it's for Gotham's environmental cause; we're recycling hazardous waste."

Bruce sighed deeply as he watched Shuen frantically stuffing gold coins into his trench coat pockets.

Stop them? How?

A fight? While those masked thugs are still howling on the ground? And if this thing falls into the hands of the masked thugs, the consequences will be even more serious.

At least Xiu En... probably... maybe... is still within a controllable range.

"I will keep an eye on your various health indicators."

Bruce appears to have finally given in.

"If there are any signs of you going berserk, I will lock you in a lead-lined isolation room."

"Okay, okay, as long as it's an isolation room with air conditioning and Wi-Fi."

Xiu En waved without turning his head.

"Now, could you please help us transport some things in your Batmobile? As you can see, it's a bit overloaded."

Seeing that Hugh's attention was completely focused on Amber Gold, Batman's seemingly annoyed smile returned to his smug expression, but it vanished in an instant, replaced by a cold, resigned face.
