Simultaneous Transmigration: We Share a Role-Playing System
Chapter 21 The Collapse of Walter
"Do you know what you look like right now?"
The sudden noise behind him startled Homelander. In an instant, he turned around guiltily like a thief caught red-handed, only to see Locke, covered in blood, standing on the rooftop, looking at him with eyes full of... pity?
"Tsk tsk tsk, it's just like a primary school student who has been provoked and finds a place to rage impotently."
After saying that, Locke clicked his tongue, and after noticing Homelander's slightly guilty expression, he nodded even more confidently.
"They're exactly the same."
That pitying look, that attitude that completely disregarded him, those mocking words—all of these constantly provoked the nerves of the people of the motherland.
This guy has been... provoking him!
Ever since they received the enhancement agent provided by Stan, the weak and cowardly self in the hearts of the people of the homeland has died!
He is now the embodiment of perfection, a god among men, and the savior who will save the world!
Nobody! Nobody can mock him anymore! Not Stan, Soldier Boy, Butcher, or anyone else!
Nobody's here!
The next moment, Homelander's eyes suddenly shot out blinding white light, and two exceptionally thick heat beams instantly intertwined into a net, carrying a heat wave that could incinerate everything, sweeping towards Locke! The air was instantly distorted by the heat, and the walls and steel bars along the way melted upon contact, emitting a sizzling sound and sparks flying everywhere.
The expected scene of flying flesh and blood, and being cut in half, did not appear. Instead, thick, ink-black fluid suddenly surged around Locke at a speed of several pieces. The fluid rapidly entwined and condensed, transforming into a suit of armor that gleamed with a cold light. The surface of the armor was still slightly flowing, as if it were alive.
He planted his feet firmly on the ground and slid slowly backward, his feet grinding deep grooves into the floorboards beneath him, with gravel falling down in a flurry.
A moment later, he suddenly lowered his waist and spurred his horse, his black armor suddenly tightening, managing to withstand the devastating attack. The heat rays that fell on the armor only splashed up black ripples, unable to advance even an inch further.
In that stalemate, behind Homelander, the soldier boy who had been lying unconscious on the ground suddenly twitched his fingertip.
He slowly opened his heavy eyelids, his blurred vision clearing instantly upon capturing the confrontation before him. A ruthless glint flashed in his eyes as he struggled to sit up, grabbing the tattered shield beside him, already riddled with cracks and curled edges. Using the momentum of his ascent, he slammed it down hard on Homelander's head!
"Bang—!"
With a dull thud, Homelander's head jerked to the side, and the heat vision in his eyes instantly went out of control! Two blazing beams of light, like uncontrolled blades, precisely sliced into the load-bearing structure of the Water Tower.
With a sickening crack, the reinforced concrete section was instantly melted and charred, and one side of the building broke apart from the sky like butter being sliced by a hot knife!
The broken building, carrying billowing dust, concrete fragments, sharp shards of glass, and twisted steel bars, slowly slid downwards with a teeth-grinding creak. To avoid the uncontrollable heat of the falling debris, the soldier boy scrambled to his side, only to plummet to the ground along with the rubble.
The enormous shadow, like the giant hand of a beast, quickly enveloped the entire block, obscuring most of the daylight. The air was thick with the smell of burning, the acrid stench of dust, and a lingering odor of blood.
The reporters downstairs were already terrified, screaming and scattering in all directions, leaving their cameras and phones scattered on the ground without even bothering to pick them up.
The deafening roar of the collapsing floors colliding with the buildings below echoed one after another. The sounds of collapsing walls and shattering glass intertwined into an apocalyptic cacophony. Debris and limbs fell from the sky, crashing to the ground with dull thuds and raising clouds of dust, as if the whole world was about to collapse.
Hugh's figure was still flashing frantically between the floors of the Water Tower, anxiously searching for his savior, Locke.
But as soon as he managed to stabilize himself on the ninety-fourth floor, a thick, overwhelming smell of blood suddenly assaulted his nostrils. The pungent, sweet odor was mixed with the putrid smell, making him hold his breath instantly.
Looking up, the sight before him made his blood almost freeze. Limbs and torsos were piled up haphazardly on the ground, pale bone fragments pierced through blood-soaked clothing, and exposed organs were slightly curled up in a pool of viscous, dark red blood.
The winding river of blood had already reached above his ankles, and the sticky sensation under his feet climbed up his skin, penetrating straight to his bone marrow.
Even after experiencing so many life-and-death battles, Hugh's basic human instincts were instantly shattered.
He covered his mouth and staggered back, his stomach churning and acid surging up his throat. The next second, he couldn't hold it in any longer and squatted on the ground, retching violently, like a raw recruit going to war for the first time, so disheveled that he couldn't even straighten his back.
Before the dizziness from vomiting had subsided, a violent, bone-shaking tremor suddenly resounded throughout the entire Water Tower. Before he could react, a deafening cracking sound suddenly exploded, followed by the entire wall beginning to crack wildly.
Hugh suddenly looked up, his pupils contracting sharply. He saw that one side of the building had been sliced open by two beams of intense white light. The charred section was still emitting thick smoke, and tens of thousands of tons of reinforced concrete, along with glass shards and limbs, were slowly tilting and sliding downwards.
Wot... collapsed!
He looked in the direction of the laser beam and saw a strange man in black armor on the top of the building, using his impenetrable fist technique to overwhelm Homelander, leaving him no chance to breathe.
Despite Locke’s apparent disdain for Homelander, he still strictly adhered to one core principle.
Despise the enemy strategically and value the enemy tactically.
He was well aware of the differences between himself and his homelanders in the matter of fighting.
The difference is that, although Homelander is far superior to Locke in both stats and mechanics.
He can fly, has super strength, super speed, super senses, and laser eyes—a complete copy of Superman. But judging from what we just saw, Homelander is clearly even more powerful.
Locke originally planned to come and see if he could get a kill, since he had eliminated the possibility of the Butcher turning against him. The Butcher, Soldier Boy, Starlight, Queen Maeve, and Hugh all seemed to have no chance of Homelander surviving.
But now it seems that my existence has ultimately brought about changes. Perhaps they really did develop something in one year, which has led to the Homelanders' strength increasing dramatically.
In other words, Azu is now so powerful that Locke can't defeat him without unleashing his full power.
But what about Locke's own advantages?
The answer is that the Homelander's disadvantage is Locke's advantage.
He is mentally fragile, arrogant, and lacks combat experience. To him, combat is nothing more than crushing opponents with numerical superiority.
In other words, Homelanders are like a fragile ear of corn; they burst at the slightest pressure, losing all their fighting spirit and will to fight.
Now, what Locke needs to do is to use relentless attacks, both physically and mentally, to destroy him—
Destroy them completely!
