Arrogance and domineering, starting in the 1990s
Chapter 5: Why eat so much when you're about to die?
Wu Shu knew what the other person was going to say, but he wasn't in the mood to offer psychological counseling.
He tossed the driver 100 yuan without asking for change.
He pushed open the car door and walked straight into the city's largest den of iniquity.
Wu Ran was very nervous when he saw that his older brother was actually going to such a place.
But he immediately yelled at the driver, "Give me my change!"
The driver pursed his lips and reluctantly gave the other party eighty-seven.
"Three dollars short!" Wu Ran glanced down and said, his eyes gleaming.
After cursing and swearing at the locals, the driver took out three dollars from his wallet and gave them to the other person.
Although Wu Ran heard it, he ignored the other person, carefully put the money away, and immediately ran towards the bathhouse.
"Hello, welcome to Golden Splendor." A hostess wearing a high-slit red cheongsam greeted us with a smile as she opened the door.
Wu Ran looked timid and asked in a low voice, "The one who went up just now..."
"Understood, that gentleman just gave the instructions. Please follow me."
The greeter gestured with her hand as she spoke.
Wu Ran's body stiffened, and the bath ticket in his hand unconsciously became crumpled and wrinkled.
He didn't know where the other person was taking him, so he could only stiffen up and follow them.
Before long, the elevator reached the sixth floor. Wu Ran followed the greeter and just stepped out of the elevator...
Then I saw Wu Shu sitting back on the leather sofa.
The waiter was changing his shoes at that moment.
"elder brother..."
"By the way, find an experienced doctor to help him improve blood circulation and remove blood stasis." Wu Shu nodded and then instructed the waiter beside him.
After the waiter acknowledged with a "I understand," he took out a pair of disposable slippers and bent down to change Wu Ran's shoes.
"Go play first, I'll come find you later." Wu Shu gave Wu Ran a carefree smile.
Then I headed towards the hot spring. On the way, I saw several beautiful masseuses and even lightly touched their fingers a few times.
The waiter immediately took out a piece of paper and wrote it down. Just as he was about to ask if it should be sent to the Tianzi hot spring,
Wu Shu laughed and said, "And that Rus' man, he speaks foreign languages very well, send them all to his hot springs."
"His love of learning is definitely to his liking."
After saying that, he laughed and entered the Heavenly Hot Spring.
After letting the other person go down, Wu Shu also completely immersed himself in the constant-temperature hot spring.
He felt a warm current flowing around him continuously until half an hour later.
A knocking sound came from outside the door, and a man with a neutral voice pushed the door open and entered.
"Hello, boss, I'm Tian Le, it's a pleasure to serve you."
Wu Shu leaned against the hot spring, his back to the other person, and didn't say anything. He simply put a hot towel on his face and continued to enjoy it.
Tian Le had seen many guests like this; they all acted very serious, as if talking to them was shameful.
He didn't mind, skillfully put down his toolbox, and began wrapping his hands with a white towel until his right palm was tightly wrapped.
He then smiled and said, "The boss is really strong and powerful; you can tell he exercises regularly."
"May I clean your arm first?"
As he spoke, he stepped forward and rubbed Wu Shu's arm back and forth.
But after rubbing it a couple of times, something felt off; it looked vaguely familiar...
"Boss, you can turn over now, I'll rub your back."
Wu Shu gave a soft "hmm" and slowly exposed his back in the hot spring.
When Tian Le saw the long, winding scar on Wu Shu's back, her heart skipped a beat, and she trembled as she said, "Your scar..."
"What? Are you envious?"
Upon hearing this voice, Tian Le completely lost control, and his legs instantly went weak.
His eyes welled up with tears as he said, "Brother Shu..."
Wu Shu laughed, lifted the towel off his face, and raised an eyebrow, saying, "Didn't you say you were eating lavish meals outside every day? Can't make it on the train anymore?"
Tian Le subconsciously moved her left hand back a little, and said with a slightly choked voice, "Brother Shu is eating steamed buns and pickled vegetables inside, and I want to share the joys and sorrows with Brother Shu too."
Wu Shu raised his hand and slapped the other person on the back of the head.
"Bullshit! When have I ever eaten a meal without chicken, duck, or fish?!"
"Brother Shu! You're stealing someone else's last meal in there again?!" Tian Le's eyes widened, and he said in disbelief.
"Why eat so well when people are about to die? Are they afraid there won't be anything left to eat?" Wu Shu sneered.
"And what do you mean by 'robbery'? At most... at most it's just borrowing."
Seeing Wu Shu's self-righteous demeanor, Tian Le thought to himself, "Borrowing and not returning is practically robbery..."
Snapped!
"You're cursing me in your heart, aren't you!"
"I didn't, Brother Shu!"
Snapped!
"Then go ahead and curse now!"
After a while, Tian Le rubbed the back of his head, grimacing as he asked, "Brother Shu, why did you come out early, and how did you know I was here?"
"That's what Fatty Gao said. He said you scrubbed his back when he was taking a bath."
"That fatso! We'll get rid of him sooner or later!" Tian Le said angrily, then asked again.
"Wait a minute, how did he know you were released early, Brother Shu?"
Wu Shu curled his lip and said disdainfully, "You know Fatty Gao well; he can even claim to be from the same hometown as that warden."
Tian Le thought about it for a moment, and it really was true.
"Let's not talk about that anymore. How's the investigation I asked you to do before I got out of prison going?" Wu Shu asked seriously.
Tian Le also dropped his previous relaxed demeanor and said with a serious expression, "We've investigated, but we can only find out who did it."
The person behind this has not yet been found.
"Tell me in detail." Wu Shu shifted to a more comfortable position and listened attentively.
"Based on the street you mentioned, Brother Shu, I found a couple who were setting up a breakfast stall at the time."
After spending some money, I found out that the woman who was harassed was a prostitute at Moonlight Inn named Lulu.
"She often drank until dawn and then went to their place for breakfast, so they still remember her."
"The thugs you injured back then were actually acting on someone's orders to kidnap her."
Wu Shu listened expressionlessly, his fingers unconsciously touching the broken eyebrow of his right eye.
"Go on."
"I found one of the thugs, and he said they all originally had minor injuries."
But the leader returned with two broken ribs after reporting back.
"And then it was the same person who led the group who called the police."
Upon hearing this, Wu Shu's eyes flickered with an inexplicable expression.
He had been constantly rereading this part of the original owner's memories while he was in prison.
Although the original owner was very skilled in combat, she was extremely measured in her attacks and never used ruthless methods.
Even when acting in a heroic act, one should not resort to violence that results in injury or disability.
It seems that things are just as I suspected; the original owner of this body was framed.
"Oh, right, that thug also said that the person who gave them the money was a manager at Moonlight."
"But when I went to find that manager, the people at Moonlight told me that he had already resigned."
No one knows where they went.
"As for the ringleader, he disappeared after being detained."
Tian Le hesitated for a moment, then continued, "Brother Shu, this matter is quite complicated..."
Wu Shu didn't respond, but instead changed the subject.
What happened to your left pinky finger?
Tian Le's heart skipped a beat when Wu Shu suddenly asked her the question, and she stammered, "It was when I was cooking..."
A fierce glint flashed in Wu Shu's eyes, and Tian Le felt as if he had been seen through.
He immediately deflated and honestly said, "When I was framing someone on the train, the local Rong family found out and ripped me off."
Wu Shu knew Rongmen, and those old hands in the gang, who were always talking about the Eight Generals of Qianmen, their upright and unorthodox methods, and their ability to dispel rumors with wind and fire.
He was sick of hearing about it; the Rongmen were one of them—basically, a gang of thieves and pickpockets.
The ancestral master we worship is Shi Qian, the great bandit from the Water Margin, also known as "Grasshopper".
To claim credit for others is to steal from them.
