Primordial Era: Reborn Kong Xuan, Steady Cultivation

Chapter 11 The Struggle for the Throne

The scene inside Zixiao Palace is now different from before.

Although no one has yet spoken out, an invisible undercurrent is already spreading.

The innate saints and powerful cultivators who came here from all over the primordial world, though they may not all know the weight of the cause and effect of becoming a saint hidden in those six futons, all understand a very simple truth.

The closer one is to the Dao Ancestor, the clearer one hears the Dao's profound pronouncements, and the deeper one's understanding may be.

Therefore, the competition for the seats at the front has already begun silently.

However, the holy might was like a prison, enveloping the entire area, so no one dared to openly fight. They could only rely on their luck, supernatural powers, and cunning to secretly compete.

The three brothers approached the cloud bed, solemnly straightened their clothes, and bowed respectfully to the figure in the hazy, mysterious light.

After the ceremony, the three of them naturally took their places on the three prayer cushions at the very front.

Taiqing dwells on a fire-and-wind futon, Yuqing sits on a heaven-and-earth futon, and Shangqing descends on a blue lotus futon.

Their auras were connected, and their Daoist principles were in harmony. All the immortals present felt that their abilities were unfathomable. Moreover, since the brothers were of one mind, naturally no one dared to raise any objections and could only tacitly accept that they were the leaders.

Nuwa and Fuxi arrived shortly after, and seeing that the Three Pure Ones had already occupied three of them, the struggle for the remaining prayer mats would surely become even more intense.

The brother and sister duo are quite powerful when they join forces, but they don't want to become the target of everyone's criticism at this time.

After a moment's consideration, Fuxi gently nudged Nuwa, who understood and sat down on the futon.

Fuxi stepped back, standing slightly behind Nuwa, and calmly surveyed the entire scene.

At this moment, under the protection of his close friend, the Great Immortal Zhen Yuanzi, the Old Ancestor Hongyun also arrived in front. Seeing that the Blissful Futon was still empty, he was delighted and was about to sit down.

Just then, light flickered at the doorway, and the Guide and the Cundi Taoist arrived hastily, looking travel-worn and distressed.

The two glanced around the hall and saw that the prayer mats were almost full. They also saw that Hongyun was about to sit down. They knew that Hongyun was a well-known kind-hearted person in the prehistoric world and had a simple mind.

Zhunti immediately stepped forward, his face full of sorrow, and his words were earnest. Jieyin also chimed in. After a heartfelt and earnest plea, Hongyun's heart softened, and she actually got up and gave up the prayer mat.

The moment he left the prayer mat, Hongyun felt a sudden emptiness in his heart, as if something extremely important and fundamental had quietly slipped away, leaving him in a daze.

But the words had already been spoken, and with everyone watching, he couldn't go back on his word given his nature. Under Zhen Yuanzi's complicated gaze, he could only retreat to the back and find a place to sit down.

When Zhunti saw Hongyun offer him a seat, he immediately sat down on the Blissful Futon.

The guide's gaze then turned to the last meditation cushion in solitude.

At this moment, Kunpeng was preparing to sit on the sixth futon with a gloomy face.

But then he saw several pairs of eyes fall directly on him.

He was already looked down upon by some of the innate deities because of his background and temperament. Now, seeing the actions of Zhunti and Jieyin, he was even more indignant. In particular, the undisguised contempt in the eyes of Yuqing Yuanshi Tianzun, and the look in his eyes that urged him to back down, was like a needle pricking him.

The eyes of Jieyin and Zhunti are also intense, implying pressure.

Kunpeng was determined to resist, but in an instant, three immense and powerful pressures, all at the peak of the Great Luo Golden Immortal realm, had already enveloped him.

Alone and outnumbered, he had no chance of actually making a move within the Zixiao Palace.

All his resentment and anger finally turned into a barely audible cold snort. Kunpeng, his face ashen, suddenly stood up and gave up the Silence Futon.

The guide remained calm and sat down without changing his expression.

Kunpeng retreated to the back, found a place to sit down, and his cold gaze swept over Yuanshi, Jieyin, Zhunti, and even the well-intentioned but misguided Hongyun in the distance, deeply imprinting the appearances of these four people in his heart.

Just then, a fierce aura surged from the palace gate, and the brothers Di Jun and Tai Yi arrived hastily, riding on the True Fire of the Sun.

The two men's eyes flashed like lightning as they quickly scanned the area ahead. They saw that the six prayer mats were already occupied, and the people seated there all possessed profound auras, their power and numbers in no way inferior to their own.

Although the two brothers were proud and arrogant and possessed valuable treasures, they had no choice but to suppress their desire to seize them in this sacred land and in the face of the potential public outrage.

Taiyi caught a glimpse of golden flames, and Dijun shook his head slightly. The two of them then walked quietly to the back, not far from the gloomy-faced Kunpeng, and each found a place to sit down.

Thus, the six lotus cushions each had their own master: Taiqing, Shangqing, Yuqing, Nuwa, Jieyin, and Zhunti.

Following the six prayer cushions were a host of powerful figures such as Fuxi, Zhen Yuanzi, and Hongyun.

Their cultivation was profound, reaching the Great Luo realm. In terms of strength, they were not necessarily weaker than those on the front row of prayer mats. Perhaps because they set off a little later, or because of unfortunate circumstances, or because they did not want to compete too much in the sage's dojo, they had to settle for the back.

Further out are the representatives of the Ancestral Witches, such as the Taoist Ran Deng, the Eastern King Duke, the Western Queen Mother, and even Di Jiang, who forcibly set foot in this place with the body of an Ancestral Witch.

These beings had varying levels of cultivation, ranging from the peak of the Great Luo realm to the early stage of the Great Luo realm, and they were located some distance away from the palace.

The entire hall was filled with holy beings, yet there wasn't a single one below the Great Luo level, demonstrating just how perilous it was to traverse that boundless chaos. Those lacking sufficient cultivation had long since turned to ashes, never having the chance to hear the Dao.

Time quietly passed amidst the mysterious aura of Zixiao Palace. Countless years had gone by, and the chaos outside the palace gates churned, yet no new figures ever broke through to enter.

Now, all those who have had the opportunity to hear this sermon are here.

On the nine-layered cloud bed, Dao Ancestor Hongjun finally made a move.

He held a white jade whisk, with three fragments of the Creation Jade Disc floating above his head, scattering strands of the Great Dao's clear light. The three thousand Great Dao Laws around him manifested as endlessly flowing, mysterious runes and light and shadow.

Without raising his eyes, the Dao Ancestor parted his lips slightly, and a peaceful yet resonant Dao voice, echoing deep within the primordial spirit of every living being, was uttered leisurely, as if it had arisen from the beginning of chaos:

"Lying high in the nine heavens, I found the true Tao on my futon."

Beyond the mysteries of heaven and earth, I shall be the supreme leader.

Pangu gave birth to Taiji, from which Yin and Yang and the Four Symbols followed.

The leader of the Xuanmen (mysterious sects), transformed from a single primordial energy into the Primordial Chaos.

As soon as the verse ended, the Daoist sound transformed into a tangible auspicious glow, and celestial music spontaneously arose within the Purple Cloud Palace, lingering endlessly.

In the void, endless celestial flowers condensed out of thin air and scattered down, while golden lotus flowers of Daoist charm emerged from the white jade ground, blooming one by one and exhaling profound Daoist energy.

The entire palace was filled with the vast yet gentle essence of the Great Way.

All the deities in the hall, whether seated on the front row of prayer cushions or residing at the back, were deeply shaken upon hearing this great proclamation and witnessing this extraordinary phenomenon. They felt as if countless obstacles and points of confusion in their past cultivation had suddenly become clear under this sound and this scene.

For a time, the immortals were completely captivated, deeply immersed in this boundless realm of Dao, unable to extricate themselves.

It is unknown how long they had been immersed in the Dao realm. Perhaps it was the Dao Ancestor's intentional guidance, or perhaps it was because of their deepest foundation, but the Three Pure Ones, sitting on the three futons at the very front, were the first to awaken from their Dao realm.

The three brothers exchanged glances, each seeing the shock and understanding in the other's eyes. Then, with utmost solemnity, they rose simultaneously, faced the cloud bed, bowed deeply, and their clear, respectful voices broke the profound silence of the hall:

"Disciple pays respects to the Sage!"

This shout of worship, like a clear bell to awaken the world, instantly roused the immortals from their reverie.

In an instant, regardless of their previous thoughts or status, all the powerful and holy beings who arrived at Zixiao Palace followed the Three Pure Ones and bowed in unison to the hazy yet sublime figure on the cloud bed. The resounding cries of congratulations echoed throughout the hall, converging into a torrent proclaiming the establishment of the orthodox rule of Heaven:

"Disciple pays respects to the Sage!"

The first sermon at Zixiao Palace officially began amidst the worship of the immortals and the vast Daoist aura.
