I suggest you investigate; this person doesn't seem to be a first-time reborn individual.
Chapter 53 Holy crap! Double-crossing?
The taxi stopped at the entrance of Jiangnan University's North Campus.
Lin Ran didn't go straight back to her dorm. Instead, she carried the desserts and went to Li Futing's dorm building first, where she sent her a message.
He recalled a girl he had dated before who had a fiancé. Every time Lin Ran and she had sex, this girl would confess her feelings to her fiancé in the middle of the night.
He felt that his current state of mind was similar to that of the girl.
In less than five minutes, a slender figure wearing a sky-blue coral fleece pajama and a coat came running out.
Li Futing must have just finished washing up; a few strands of wet hair clung to her cheeks, her face was flushed, and her amber eyes shone brightly under the light, her gaze towards Lin Ran filled with undisguised joy.
Lin Ran didn't dare to look her in the eye directly, feeling a little guilty.
He was dealing with Huang Lingyue one moment and then found himself here the next, and he felt a damn guilty.
"Here you go." He suppressed the jumbled thoughts in his mind, handed over the bag, and tried to make his tone as natural as possible.
"Thank you..." Li Futing took the bag, her fingertips inadvertently touching the back of Lin Ran's hand, her cheeks turning even redder.
She took a small, elegant cardboard box out of her pajama pocket and handed it to Lin Ran: "This is for you."
Lin Ran asked curiously, "What is this?"
"Nougat, I made it myself. Try it and see if you like it."
"Aren't high-powered electrical appliances not allowed in the dormitory?" Lin Ran asked casually.
"This doesn't need a pot..." As soon as she said it, she lowered her head. Li Futing still hadn't learned how to lie.
When she was a child, her family was poor and couldn't afford the fancy candies in stores. Nougat, on the other hand, was made with simple ingredients: maltose, milk powder, and peanuts. Her grandmother would occasionally make it for her, and that was her sweetest childhood memory.
As she grew up, she learned to do it herself and also used it as a way to express her feelings.
Lin Ran smiled, not exposing her, but said gently, "I like it very much. It's getting chilly at night, you should go home now."
"Yeah...you too, be careful on the road."
Li Futing straightened his collar before reluctantly retreating back into the dormitory building with the dessert bag in her arms. She waved to him and disappeared around the corner of the stairs.
Lin Ran did not leave immediately, but stood still, his gaze fixed on the window in the third-floor corridor.
Sure enough, a blurry, slender figure soon appeared there. He waved to the figure before turning and leaving.
Watching Lin Ran leave, Li Futing's expression revealed a slight hint of doubt, and her delicate eyebrows furrowed slightly.
She smelled a faint perfume scent on Lin Ran, which seemed somewhat familiar.
Lin Ran returned to the dormitory and first glanced at the three items in room 508.
Zhao Feiyu and Liu Zhihua seemed normal, both lying on their beds playing on their phones, while Ding Facai sat at the table fiddling with his newly bought computer.
"Old Ding, didn't you discuss life with your little girlfriend?"
"The conversation went wrong," Ding Facai said nonchalantly without turning his head.
Lin Ran chuckled to himself, thinking to himself, "With your chatting skills, it's no wonder the conversation went wrong."
He leaned closer: "Let me see how they're talking."
Ding Facai looked wary: "No way! You're definitely trying to mock me again."
"I promise I won't laugh at you." Lin Ran raised his hand, looking very serious. "Show me, I'll teach you a dating trick to turn the tide, I guarantee it will work."
"Love?" Ding Facai looked like he'd seen through the illusions of the world. "Even a dog wouldn't talk about that."
"My buddy's changed his mind; I'm going to be a hacker."
He turned the computer towards Lin Ran, where a QQ chat window with a background from "The Matrix" was displayed. He pointed to one of the cool hacker avatars.
"See that? This is the master I just became a disciple of!"
Lin Ran glanced at Ding Facai's chat history with the other party and scoffed, "A hundred yuan for teaching? Give me a break, he's probably a scammer."
I thought to myself, "You're really something else, always doing whatever comes to mind."
"What do you know?" Ding Facai said dismissively. "You're just a sour grapes."
"A scammer? My master already said he'd send me a core document first so I could learn the basics on my own, and he'd guarantee I'd master it!"
Before the words were even finished, a computer notification sounded, and the hacker had indeed sent a file with a filename so blatant it was outrageous: Ultimate Guide to Account Theft.exe.
Ding Facai was extremely smug: "See? Just you wait, Lin Laosi. When I return after completing my studies, I'll be the first to hack your QQ account and confess my feelings to all the girls in the class."
Lin Ran noticed that the file had a .exe extension and felt that something was wrong. Just as he was about to speak up to warn Ding Facai, Ding Facai had already impatiently double-clicked to open it.
The computer screen went black for three seconds, then returned to normal.
Ding Facai scratched his head: "Huh? Why isn't there any response? Let me ask my master..."
"Why did my QQ connection drop...?"
"Huh? What the hell? My account got hacked?!"
Lin Ran said with a hint of schadenfreude, "I thought they sent you a tutorial, but it turns out they just used you as a teaching material."
Ding Facai stared at his computer in disbelief, and it took him a long time to react: "Holy crap! Double-crossing?!"
A moment later, Liu Zhihua's voice rang out: "Old Ding, why do you need to borrow money from me?"
"My account got hacked!"
"Oh..." Liu Zhihua didn't say anything more, just fiddled with his phone. "I've transferred it to you. You're fucking crazy, you even had to change your brother's bank card number."
The dormitory suddenly fell silent.
Ding Facai slowly turned his head to look at Liu Zhihua, who looked completely at ease. He opened his mouth, but for a moment he didn't know how to comment.
You could call him stupid, but he didn't utter a single unnecessary word before turning the message over to "himself."
To say he's not stupid... well, the person in question was right next to him, and he still transferred money to the scammer...
Ding Facai felt that he couldn't stay in this dormitory for even a day longer.
After mocking Ding Facai, Lin Ran returned to his desk, turned on his computer, and sat down.
It's only Tuesday, the second day of the weekly couples' event. Although the buzz is still building and discussions about the event can be heard all over campus, some people have already started to have their conversations fall apart.
He took out his phone and called Tang Chen. After a few busy signals, Tang Chen's voice came from the other end: "Boss?"
"How many people have unmatched now?" Lin Ran asked directly.
I heard the sound of keyboard tapping on the other end of the phone.
"We have terminated more than 600 matching pairs, totaling about 1300 people, and there are currently about 3800 people still under valid contracts."
The number of people leaving the company was a bit beyond Lin Ran's expectations, but upon closer examination, it was reasonable.
In the last few days of registration, many people were just temporarily brought in by friends to fill in the numbers, and their willingness to participate was not high to begin with. After all, people like Ding Facai, who simply had a bad conversation, were a minority.
"When did the user unmatch and what was the reason for their feedback?"
"The majority of the responses were concentrated in the first few hours of the event yesterday morning, and the feedback tags... were mostly 'nothing to say' and 'the other party's response was too slow'..."
Lin Ran nodded slightly. The reason was similar to what he had expected, and the situation was not out of control.
"Boss, the data loss is happening faster than we anticipated. Should we start the next phase of our plan ahead of schedule?"
Lin Ran thought for a moment and said, "Let's wait a bit longer. For now, let's stick to the original plan. I'll let you know the next steps later."
