The Road to Superstardom: Starting as a Singer
Chapter 33 Still Too Young
The next morning, Huang Weijie woke up because he was hungry.
Last night I got so engrossed in the game that I lost my focus.
When I woke up, I felt weak all over and my stomach was empty. I was overcome by a strong feeling of hunger.
I opened my eyes and found the spot next to me empty, the bed still bearing the marks of the indentation and a faint fragrance.
Huang Weijie rubbed his somewhat heavy head, casually pulled up a pair of shorts, put them on, and walked out of the bedroom shirtless.
The living room curtains were half-drawn, and the sunlight generously streamed in.
Christine sat cross-legged on the living room sofa, holding an iPad and intently watching something.
She changed into a large white T-shirt by Huang Weijie, the hem of which covered her thighs, revealing her two smooth, long legs.
Her hair was casually tied in a low ponytail, with a few stray strands falling around her cheeks, making her profile appear soft and serene in the sunlight.
Hearing the noise, she turned her head and looked over. Her face didn't show any particular expression. She just gestured towards the island in the open kitchen with her lip: "There's a sandwich I left for you there. Eat it quickly. The milk is in the refrigerator."
His voice was calm, showing no sign of how he had begged for mercy later last night.
Huang Weijie walked over, picked up the ham and egg sandwich that looked pretty good on the plate, and took a big bite.
The taste was average, the bread was a bit dry, but it tasted especially good when you were hungry.
"You made this?" he asked, somewhat surprised, chewing as he spoke. "You have this ability?"
Christine rolled her eyes at him, her gray-green eyes filled with defiance: "I'm not a life idiot! I can't quite handle the Chinese food you like yet, but I can make a simple sandwich like this."
She put down her iPad, stretched, and her T-shirt hem rode up, revealing a section of her even whiter thigh. "Hurry up and eat, I want to eat your Chinese food after you finish."
"Didn't you just eat last night?"
"What?"
Huang Weijie smiled without saying a word, took the sandwich and milk, walked to the sofa, and sat down next to her.
Looking at Christine's fair and rosy complexion, and feeling the weakness in his own calves and back, Huang Weijie shook his head helplessly.
Foreigners are indeed very resilient.
"Why are you shaking your head?" Christine asked curiously.
Huang Weijie swallowed the food in his mouth and said honestly, "It just feels a bit unfair."
"What's unfair?"
"Last night someone begged Barba for mercy, so why did you wake up this morning with a rosy complexion and radiant energy, while I feel completely drained..."
Before he could finish speaking, he was kicked in the shin.

Christine's pretty face flushed red instantly, even the tips of her ears turned pink.
Even though the United States has an open atmosphere and she herself has a free and unrestrained personality, she is still just an eighteen-year-old girl. She is not thick-skinned enough to accept her boyfriend's straightforward and mischievous teasing.
"Jace! Shut up!" She pounced on him, embarrassed and annoyed, and covered his mouth with her hand.
Huang Weijie laughed and dodged, and the two immediately started playing around on the sofa.
The sandwich almost fell to the ground, and Christine barely managed to catch the milk cup.
In the end, Huang Weijie, relying on his strength, held her tightly in his arms, making her unable to move.
Christine was panting in his arms, her hair was messy and her T-shirt was wrinkled, but her face was full of happy smiles, and the shyness she had just felt had long been washed away by their playful antics.
Huang Weijie was also in a great mood.
His playful antics just now made him realize that Christine was not as "relaxed" as she seemed on the surface. The kick she gave was weak and powerless, and when she got up and pounced on him, she only looked fierce, but in reality, she was already low on health.
That's true. The battle was so intense last night, even if she has a strong recovery ability, she will still suffer some losses.
That radiant look she had in the morning was just the last bit of stubbornness a girl can muster.
"Alright, alright, stop fooling around." Huang Weijie let go of her, smiling as he ruffled her hair. "I'll go wash up, then I'll make you lunch. What do you want to eat?"
Sweet and sour pork ribs!
Christine's eyes lit up, and she blurted out, "And that last time... Mapo Tofu! Spicy, please!"
"The requirements are quite high."
Huang Weijie took out his phone to call his assistant, told him what groceries to buy, and then hummed a song as he walked happily toward the bathroom.
When he finished washing up feeling refreshed and came out, he found that there was another person in the living room.
Agent Madeline had already arrived and was sitting on a single sofa with a laptop on her lap and a cup of coffee in her hand.
She wore a light brown suit and pants today, looking capable and professional.
"Hey, Madeline, good morning."
Huang Weijie gave a casual greeting, walked into the kitchen, and opened the refrigerator to check the ingredients.
Madeline glanced at the time on her computer: 11:23 AM. She said, speechless, "It's almost noon, Jace. Are you telling me which time zone is earlier?"
Ignoring her complaints, Huang Weijie took out the ribs and tofu and started preparing them, asking casually, "Where's Jessie? Did she leave after putting down the food? I wanted her to try my cooking."
"I brought the food; Jesse didn't come with me."
"Oh~"
Huang Weijie nodded. "Let's have lunch together then. Did you need something from me?"
Madeline glanced at Christine, who was still curled up on the sofa looking at her iPad. "Yes, the endorsement deal has been finalized."
I only mentioned it briefly and didn't continue.
Although it wasn't top-secret business information, as a seasoned agent, Madeline still habitually chose to keep it to herself in front of outsiders.
Huang Weijie understood that she had stopped short of making a point, and he was quite satisfied.
Madeline's actions were professional and showed that she was thinking of him.
He wouldn't say something as silly as "Christine is one of us, there's no need to hide anything" at a time like this just to show how much he "values" and "trusts" his girlfriend.
It's important to keep work and relationships separate.
"Alright."
Huang Weijie started washing the ribs: "I should still have time to make lunch, right?"
Madeline smiled slightly: "Of course! Remember to cook an extra portion for me."
Huang Weijie then turned to Christine Stewart and raised his voice, "Christine, you're the lady of the house, what do you think? Should we cook an extra portion for Madeline?"
Christine's eyes crinkled when she heard the word "hostess." She put down her iPad, stood up with a smile, and said, "Of course, guests are always welcome. Then cook a lot more, I'll help you."
Madeline glanced at Christine's slightly unsteady yet forcedly natural steps and pursed her lips.
This apartment was just a temporary residence that Jace rented; the property was not even in his name.
Just kidding, but you really think you're the lady of the house?
Ha, still too young!
