"Bang! Bang!"

Several sharp gunshots pierced the silence of dawn, waking Fett from his dream.

He rubbed his sleepy eyes and glanced at the fireplace in the corner.

The fire that burned so brightly last night is now reduced to a few dark red embers, and the temperature inside the house has dropped as the fire has weakened, with a slight chill in the air.

The sky outside the window was still a pale, grayish-blue, shrouded in mist.

Fett put on the thick flannel shirt and limped into the living room.

The spot on the wall where the Remington 700 shotgun and Winchester double-barreled shotgun used to hang was now empty, with only two empty hooks remaining.

Fett finally breathed a sigh of relief.

It seems that old hunters Frank and Roy had already set off before dawn to clear out the surrounding wild animals.

The fireplace burned all night, the air was a bit dry, and my throat felt like it was on fire.

Fett went to the kitchen, poured himself a large glass of water, and gulped it down before he felt the heat subside a bit.

I glanced at the time; it was only 5:30.

Fett returned to his room, squatted in front of the fireplace, used tongs to brush away the layer of white ash, and stuffed in a few more pieces of dry oak.

With a few soft crackling sounds, the flames rose again, and the orange light once more dispelled the chill in the room.

He stood up and touched the bandage on his thigh.

The wound has mostly stopped hurting. Squatting down didn't have much of an effect on me. Instead, the tingling, itchy sensation is getting stronger, like countless ants crawling on me.

This body is incredibly strong.

At this rate of recovery, the wound should heal completely in about half the time it would take a normal person.

Fett walked back to the bedside and crawled back into the still-warm blankets.

After getting out of bed and wandering around for a bit, I was mostly awake.

He simply picked up his phone from the bedside table, and the screen lit up, instantly displaying dozens of unread messages.

Fett swiped across the screen one by one.

At the top was a report from Mike Fincher, a string of exclamation marks that made one dizzy: "Ratings explode! The station manager is ecstatic! Our documentary not only broke ratings records, but it's also generating a lot of buzz on Facebook!!"

Here is a message from Lina.

After hanging up with him yesterday, the girl not only asked him how his conversation with the reporter went, but also went on and on about her critiques of the American TV series she watched, and even posted a picture of the meal she made.

There were also greeting messages from several friends from high school.

Besides these, there are countless Facebook notifications, and the red number badge has become an astonishing "99+".

He clicked on the blue "f" icon.

The post, reposted from the University of Arkansas' official homepage, is from KATV: "Proud of our boar killers! Go Hogs!"

The post has already received over a thousand likes, and the comments section is filled with alumni celebrating.

Scrolling down, after a funny cat video, it's about him again.

An account with a profile picture of a blonde woman named Tiffany Sterling posted a screenshot of a news article with the caption: "Does anyone know this handsome guy? Looking for his contact information!"

The first comment below is a reply from Chad, Fette's roommate at Fette University:

"@Fett Carter, you're welcome, I'm your best wingman."

Fett's lips twitched slightly, and he continued scrolling down.

I finally saw the post from last night on that nurse's public page, "Eudora's Emergency Room Diary".

After a night of fermentation, the data for this post has reached an alarming level:

At the very top was a message from his gossipy roommate, Chad, a string of exclamation marks that made my head spin:

"Is that your girlfriend on TV? My god, she's gorgeous! That wild charm is absolutely stunning! You're a lucky guy!"

"Hey bro, did you hear about Tiffany Sterlinga, the cheerleader captain?"

"If I manage to get a date with her, I absolutely have to ask her to introduce me to some of the pretty girls from her sorority!"

My happiness for the rest of my life depends entirely on you!

Scroll down, and you'll find a linebacker from the rugby team I met in PE class:

"Bro! I told you you should join the rugby team! Spending all your time studying in the library is a complete waste of time! You can build muscles, but that kind of courage to face a wild boar without flinching is innate!"

Next is the president of that outdoor survival club:

"Dude, that knife of yours is so cool! Is it really that sharp?"

"Could I play a round too? The price is negotiable!"

……

Clicking on the stranger's message, sure enough, there was a friend request from Tiffany Sterling:

"Fett, can we be friends? I'm Tiffany Sterling."

Also included was a photo of a blonde bombshell wearing a short skirt and holding a pom-pom, with a sweet and confident smile.

Many of the other friend requests contained even more explicit messages and pictures.

"Brave cowboy, need me to take care of your gun?"

"You can go with your girlfriend too~"

……

"I heard you're good at hand-to-hand combat? If you can handle that 300-pound wild boar, you can definitely handle me."

……

"Show me your scars, and I'll show you mine..."

White or brown flesh, covered in sparse fabric, filled the entire screen.

Fett critically reviewed each of the friend requests and then chose to ignore them.

Oh dear, it's not related to me, it's unlikely to cause warts, the probability is urinary tract infection.

He doesn't want to catch a disease.

Conversely, he paid particular attention to friend requests with simple profile pictures and sincere messages:

"Hello, my child was very moved after watching the news and keeps asking to buy your tree. How much does it cost?"

……

"Do you offer Christmas tree delivery to Little Rock? I'd like to support them."

……

"I was deeply moved by your story and would like to reserve a fir tree."

Fett approved the requests from these targeted clients without hesitation.

After dealing with the private messages, he opened his personal profile page.

The cover photo is still the farm's somewhat weathered gate, and the profile picture is a slightly immature ID photo.

But now, this once deserted homepage has changed.

The number of followers is jumping wildly, having already surpassed 3800.

Under the original owner's post from six months ago, "Life gives you lemons, and all you can do is make lemonade. A new beginning," hundreds of new comments appeared overnight.

"Is this the young man's account?"

"I want to buy a tree too! What's the address? I'll drive over in a few days!"

The situation is excellent!

It's time to monetize our traffic!

Fett first changed the drab background image to the high-resolution image Mike sent him—he and Lyra were standing in front of a huge wild boar carcass, with the golden sunset behind them, full of wild tension.

She also changed her profile picture to herself wearing a cowboy hat.

Then, after considering it for a moment, he posted a new update:

"Thank you for your support. My injuries are no longer serious, and life must go on."

"My dad and Uncle Roy are clearing out the wild animals around to make sure it's absolutely safe."

"Carter's Farm officially opens for business tomorrow!"

"Virginia Pine from $55, Leyland Pine from $85!"
