Chapter 101: The Operation, Dr. Sato's Whereabouts

The following morning, at the Ma Pharmaceutical Company building.

Tsubasa Kamino and Upton, looking every bit like Chronos soldiers, swaggered into the company gate with the group.

Inside the building, the moving operations were busy and noisy, with people constantly moving around. The guards and staff along the way were in a hurry, and no one noticed anything unusual.

The two men quietly acted as laborers, carrying several boxes of experimental supplies back and forth with the team, while silently recording the defenses and passage information along the way.

Before long, they finally received the long-awaited instructions.

A middle-level manager in a suit strode over, pointed towards the laboratory upstairs, and sternly reprimanded the group: "Hey, you guys come with me, go to the formulation center and move down two Type III culture chambers!"

"Be careful with your movements! These are all valuable instruments. If you damage even a little bit, ten of your lives wouldn't be enough to pay for it!"

Shinno Tsubasa, who was secretly recording the information, was overjoyed and immediately gave Upton a wink.

The two, along with several other beastmen, successfully entered the heavily guarded Modification and Development Center.

While everyone was busy moving things, Upton quietly circled around to the back of the line and, in a flash, dragged the man in the suit in charge of supervising into the shadows of the ventilation duct.

In just a few seconds, absorption and mimicry were completed.

When he emerged from the shadows again, he had completely transformed into that mid-level manager, with identical clothing, demeanor, and aura.

He quietly approached Tsubasa Kamino and lowered his voice, saying, "I just pressed him a few questions, and it's a bit troublesome."

"That old man Sato has been staying in the core laboratory up there. We don't have the necessary clearance to get close at all. If we force our way in, it will definitely trigger the highest alert."

Kanna Tsubasa remained calm, pretending to be carrying equipment: "Then let's stick to the original plan and trick a few knowledgeable lab guards into going out for questioning."

Upton immediately understood and, adopting a superior demeanor, called over the three guards from the control center: "You lot, come with me!"

He pointed to the two nearly brand-new, valuable instruments in the corner, his tone leaving no room for doubt: "Lord Sato has ordered that these two pieces of equipment must be packed up in advance and transported to the new backup laboratory."

"Hurry up, let's go right now!"

The three guards dared not be negligent in the slightest. They immediately joined forces with Tsubasa Kamino, carrying the equipment in pairs, and obediently followed Upton downstairs to board a van that he had summoned using his authority.

Upton once again used his power to force the driver out of the car and took the driver's seat himself.

The truck engine roared as it quickly drove away from Ma Pharmaceuticals, speeding towards the abandoned factory that had been scouted out in the suburbs.

Once the vehicle had completely entered the depths of the factory, Upton suddenly slammed on the brakes!

The immense inertia instantly flung the three guard wolves in the carriage—aside from the prepared Kamino Tsubasa—forward, causing them to lose their balance and slam onto the carriage floor in a sorry state.

Before they could regain their footing and complain, the carriage door was violently pulled open from the inside by Upton with a loud "whoosh".

"That was such a sudden stop!"

Before the three guards could finish complaining, Upton pounced like a cheetah, his hands gripping the necks of two of them like iron pincers.

Suddenly, sharp claws gleamed coldly from his fingertips, their sharp tips gently pressing against the other's throat. With just a little force, they could instantly sever the trachea.

"What—what do you want to do?!"

The remaining person was shocked at the sight, his pupils contracted sharply, and he immediately tried to activate the beast-like genes within his body to transform, his muscles began to swell.

But a dark blue figure suddenly appeared from behind, delivering a precise chop to the back of his neck.

It was Tsubasa Kamino, who had completed his transformation into a bio-armor. His movements were swift and decisive. The beast soldier who was hit didn't even utter a sound before collapsing to the ground, losing consciousness.

"Drag it inside."

"I'll say this in a deep voice," said Kamino Tsubasa, before lifting up the stunned beastman and heading towards the warehouse deep inside the factory.

Upton, carrying the two restrained men like two chicks, followed closely behind.

"Speak! Tell me Sato Kenichi's usual whereabouts, and the regional deployment and shift schedule of the control center. Don't lie even a single word—"

"Pah, wishful thinking!"

These two beast-like soldiers were clearly still caught up in the euphoria of Kronos's invincibility, completely oblivious to their imprisonment. Instead, they viciously threatened, "You bastards, daring to oppose Kronos! Sooner or later, you'll be crushed to dust by the Beast God!"

Faced with such "fearless" courage, Tsubasa Kamino said nothing more, but simply looked up at Upton, raised an eyebrow, and gave a slight nod.

Upton immediately understood, a cruel smile creeping onto his lips.

He grabbed the arm of the resisting beastman with his five fingers like iron clamps, and covered his mouth with his other hand.

"Ughhhhh—!"

The beastman's eyes instantly filled with terror. He twisted and struggled desperately, but could only let out muffled screams.

The arm that Upton was holding was visibly shrinking away!

A moment later, only a dry, grayish leather hood remained hanging on the arm bone, exuding an indescribable eeriness and horror, like a dried mummy.

Upton released his grip, grinned at the limp beastman, revealing his gleaming white teeth.

The beast-like soldier was so terrified that his eyes rolled back and he fainted.

Another guard witnessed the whole thing, his whole body trembling violently, his arrogance vanished completely, his trouser legs were instantly soaked, and a fishy smell filled the air.

Before Kamino Tsubasa could even ask, he nodded frantically, "I'll talk! I'll talk! I'll tell you everything—"

The beastman was panting heavily, speaking rapidly as he confessed everything about Sato Kenichi, including the location of the core laboratory and his routine of going out, without daring to hide anything.

After listening, Tsubasa Kamino raised his hand and knocked the man unconscious with a chop to the neck. He then went forward and shook the third unconscious guard awake, repeating the question to him.

The other party's answer was exactly the same, and even added a lot of details, confirming that the intelligence was completely accurate.

"Very good. According to intelligence, Sato's daily behavior is very regular; he eats and sleeps in the core laboratory on the twentieth floor."

He would only leave the branch office every Saturday afternoon, taking two teams of guards to the cemetery in the western suburbs.

"A cemetery? That's a quiet place."

Upton casually snapped the neck of the unconscious beastman: "That saves a lot of trouble. Once we take care of the two squads of beastmen he led, the old man is a piece of cake."
