Guyver Armor: KAP-2

Chapter 37 Identity, Mr. Jinno's Home Visit

"Achoo!"

Tsubasa Kamino, who was in a remote corner of the eastern suburbs of the city, sneezed for no apparent reason.

He rubbed his itchy nose, looked up at the window, and saw fine rain slowly falling from the sky.

"It's raining, the weather is starting to get cooler!" he muttered to himself, casually pulling half of the curtain closed.

The small hotel he was staying in was just across the street from the safe house of Akira Fukamachi and her group. Standing by the window, he could even vaguely see the tightly closed curtains of that old apartment building.

As for why Tsubasa Kanno was able to accurately locate the safe house that Makijima had meticulously arranged, the answer is actually quite simple.

That evening, after parting ways with Akira Fukamachi and Agito Makijima on Sanjo-dori Street, he never actually left.

Instead, using the gravity manipulation ability of the bio-armor, it turned a corner a short distance away and then silently sneaked back.

At that time, Makijima Agito and Fukamachi Shoto had completely removed their armor and lost Kep's powerful sensory abilities, so they naturally could not detect his presence.

And so, Tsubasa Kamino remained hidden in the shadows, quietly watching the entire process of Akira Fukamachi packing her bags and hurriedly moving with her father and the Segawa family.

He then followed the group at a leisurely pace, easily finding the seemingly hidden safe house.

After confirming that Akira Fukamachi and the others were settled, Tsubasa Kanno did not disturb them. He found a small hotel nearby, booked a room, and slept comfortably until now.

Well, if it weren't for the sudden chill that triggered his sneezing, he might have been able to sleep a little longer.

I've been doing too many nighttime activities lately and haven't been getting enough sleep.

After shaking his head slightly to clear his head, Tsubasa Kamino got up and started brushing his teeth and washing up.

On the desk, the old-fashioned radio's speaker crackled with static, and the clear, articulate voice of a female announcer emanated from it.

"...This is a midday news report. At 9:00 AM today, a violent explosion occurred on the top floor of the Max Pharmaceuticals headquarters building. Thick smoke billowed dozens of meters into the air, and surrounding streets were immediately cordoned off by police. As of now, the official casualty list has not been released, and the specific cause of the accident is still under further investigation... That concludes this report."

"Click," Tsubasa Kamino stretched out her finger and gently pressed the switch off the radio.

He leaned against the window, watching the pedestrians and vehicles passing by in the rain, a triumphant smile spreading across his face.

"It seems that Makijima Jagito has indeed caused considerable trouble for the Kronos Japan branch. Given the current weak defenses of the branch building, Geo has most likely been forced to use his Zombie God Transformation."

This is exactly the result he wanted to see:

On the one hand, it's about making Makijima Agito, that ambitious guy, suffer a bit, depleting his strength and energy, and preventing him from interfering with our subsequent plans;

On the other hand, the strength of the Beast God General Richard Geo is too terrifying—especially that special technique that once caused the first Beast God General, Akafiel, to suffer a great loss. In addition, his undisguised covetousness towards Kep means that any action that can weaken Geo's power would be beneficial to Tsubasa Kamino.

"However, the Max building was not completely destroyed by explosives as in the original story... It seems that Makijima started the uprising in a hurry and did not have time to plant bombs throughout the building."

After a moment of contemplation, Tsubasa Kamino said, "In that case, it's hard to say whether Geo will proceed with the original plan to the Mina-no-Kami Mountain Ruins Base."

With that in mind, he simply heated up a cup of milk and ate it with rice balls to finish his first meal of the day.

He then grabbed his black coat from the back of the chair, pushed open the door, and went out—it was time to make a special home visit to the "good students."

He walked steadily through the backstreets and alleys, finally stopping in front of an ordinary old apartment building with its curtains drawn tightly—this was the new safe house for Akira Fukamachi and his friends.

Seeing that the doorbell was broken, he raised the back of his hand and gently knocked on the door with his knuckles.

"Thump, thump, thump." The three soft sounds were particularly clear in the quiet room.

Inside the apartment, Akira Fukamachi and Tetsuro Segawa were watching the midday news on silent when they heard a knock on the door. Akira's muscles tensed instantly, and Tetsuro looked up sharply.

The two exchanged a glance, their eyes filled with wariness and unease, yet they dared not utter a single word in response.

This safe house was meticulously arranged by the Makijima Agito, and no one else knew about it except for them.

Who's outside? Are they Kronos's pursuers, or people sent by Roll Island?

Just as the two were on edge, a gentle and familiar voice came from outside the door: "Excuse me, is Fukamachi-kun inside?"

"The person outside the door is... Professor Jinno?!"

Akira Fukamachi gasped in shock, the familiar voice and tone sending a shiver down his spine, his face filled with disbelief.

He carefully moved to the door and looked out through the peephole.

The man standing outside the door was dressed in all black and wore his signature black-rimmed glasses; he was their math teacher, Tsubasa Kamino.

After a moment's hesitation, Jing took a deep breath and slowly unlocked the door.

"Looks like I didn't come to the wrong place." Tsubasa Kamino stepped into the house and gently closed the door behind him.

Before Akira Fukamachi could ask any questions, he walked straight to the center of the room, his gaze calmly sweeping over Akira Fukamachi, the Segawa siblings, and the tense-looking Fukamachi Fumio and the Segawa couple, and went straight to the point:

"I'll be frank. I know who you are, I know about Kep, and I know you're being hunted by Chronos and have nowhere to run."

Like a thunderbolt, everyone was instantly stunned.

Akira Fukamachi clenched her fists, her voice strained: "Kano-sensei... who exactly are you...?"

"I am not your enemy," Kamino Tsubasa interrupted him. "An explanation would be too long; let me just prove it to you directly."

"Kep, transform!"

A dazzling burst of light exploded on the spot, and to everyone's astonishment, the dark yellow form of the Kapp 2 was revealed!

"It's the mysterious person who saved us last time!" Tetsuro Segawa exclaimed first.

Segawa Mizuki's eyes widened as well: "So...it was Mr. Kanno who saved us!"

"See? That's how it is." Kamino Tsubasa shrugged.

"But, Professor Jinno, why didn't you tell us your identity in front of Makishima-senpai that day? Did you suspect Makishima-senpai?"

Akira Fukamachi asked with a look of doubt, after all, Agito Makijima had helped them arrange safe houses many times.

"That's right, Jing, your intuition is very sharp."

Tsubasa Kanno nodded, his tone becoming more serious: "I deliberately avoided revealing myself to Agito Makijima because he harbors unimaginable darkness and ambition. You must always be vigilant towards him."

"Akira! Professor Kanno, Makishima-senpai isn't that kind of person!" Segawa Mizuki couldn't help but interject, "He clearly helped us too! Could there be... some misunderstanding?"

The other adults also looked doubtful, but Tetsuro Segawa stood to the side, seemingly lost in thought.

"A misunderstanding?" Tsubasa Kamino paused for a moment, then dropped a bombshell: "You probably don't know this yet, but Makishima Agito's adoptive father is none other than Makishima Genzo, the head of the Kronos organization's Japanese branch."

Of course, he deliberately omitted the word "before" and the subsequent "filial piety between father and son".

"What?!"
