Murakami, however, seemed to have expected this, and a faint smile even appeared on his face:

This conversation, word for word, drifted into the corner of the corridor outside the medical room.

Segawa Mizuki was standing in the shadows outside the door, holding a bowl of freshly cooked rice porridge. She had originally intended to apply to take care of Murakami, but she had overheard everything.

The girl froze in place, her fingers holding the bowl trembled slightly, and her eyes instantly reddened.

She bit her lip hard to stop herself from crying out, but the scalding tears still slid down uncontrollably, splashing onto the cold floor and leaving a small water stain.

She always felt like a burden, only able to watch everyone fight desperately on the front lines, unable to help in any way.

But now she realized that these people who fought to protect everyone had already made such a resolute decision, even risking their own lives.

Makijima Agito leaned against the exposed rock wall, breathing heavily.

The wound on his shoulder had only recently healed and was still throbbing slightly, but the roars of the beastmen chasing relentlessly behind him left him no time to catch his breath.

Yesterday, after recovering from his injuries, he ignored the advice of Onuma and the other man and insisted on continuing his pursuit towards the ruins base.

He had intended to use his familiarity with the terrain to sneak in unnoticed, but unexpectedly, for some reason, the number of beast-like reconnaissance squads along the way was outrageous.

This was the search force hastily dispatched by Geo after he had been enraged and unleashed a furious outburst.

"Damn it, what kind of awful place is this? How come there are so many beast soldiers here..."

Makishima cursed under his breath, clenching his fist tightly. "Plastic suit!"

A powerful energy surge erupted from his body, and the black silhouette of the KAP-3 materialized once more in the night.

Two high-frequency swords sprang from the outside of his arms, their light slicing through the darkness. A beastman soldier charging towards him was instantly cleaved in two, and then the black figure hurriedly departed.

Meanwhile, inside the control room of the Relics Base, Richard Geor's face was so gloomy it could drip water.

"It's here, KAP3!!"

The last time, Kep escaped easily, and Kep even fell into a trap and lost a lot of troops, including Jelbup. This has kept his anger burning ever since.

"Bakas, weren't you claiming to be researching something new about Planet Kepk? Send them out now! I'm going to make those damned Kepk pay!"

Hamil Bakas turned around and replied impatiently, "Currently, my Insem II Mod is not yet fully tested; it can only be described as a semi-finished product, and it still needs further improvement..."

"But the losses are too great!" Geo's voice suddenly rose, his emerald green eyes fixed on Baka:

"Who among the base's current Zoan soldiers can stop Kep? Or perhaps, you could send your five men..."

"Gio! Watch your attitude!"

The two stared at each other, neither willing to back down.

After a full half-minute standoff, Bakas finally relented—he knew Geo's temper; if pushed too far, the guy might do something even more irrational.

"Alright, in that case..."

Bakas shrugged helplessly, turned to the communicator and gave the order:

"Send out those two unfinished Insem Type II Modified units from Lab 3. Also, Upton, you go with them."

"I want to see for myself which is superior in actual combat effectiveness: you, the only 'finished product' of the vigorous cell experiment, or Insem."

Upton, who was standing nearby, stepped forward in response. He nodded slightly, said nothing, and turned to leave.

But as Bakas watched his retreating figure, a hint of doubt flashed in his eyes. After undergoing this hellish process, the damaged experimental subject was no longer affected by the Beast God's thought waves.

He turned to look at the shadowy figure behind him: "Sangulus, you stay behind and keep an eye on Upton. Don't let him pull any tricks."

Sangulus, the most agile of the five, immediately stepped forward, bowed, and replied, "Understood, Lord Bakas."

He then set off alone, quietly following behind the team.

"This is never going to end..."

On the battlefield, Makijima Jawman was panting heavily, and the black armor of the Captain 3 was covered with the blood of various beastmen.

This time, it was his turn to personally experience the terrifying command power of the thought wave amplifier. Even with their limbs severed, the beastmen would still roar and charge forward, completely disregarding the consequences.

KEP-3 fought its way out, attempting to break through in a direction away from the ruins base.

But the beast-like soldiers were like maggots clinging to his bones; every now and then, one would dart out from the side and bite him tightly, making it difficult for him to escape.

Just then, a Kronos attack helicopter roared across the sky, its cabin door opened, and two strange black shadows plummeted straight down—it was the Insem II Kai.

They resemble the original Insem in appearance, but are much leaner, which results in a significant increase in agility.

Its appendages moved rapidly among the treetops, instantly dissipating the force of its fall, and it launched a fierce attack on the island as soon as it landed.

"Damn it, it's Insem!"

Makijima's face darkened. He had witnessed the development process of Insem firsthand and knew that this special enzyme could directly erode the cell structure of the bio-armor. He dared not take it head-on and could only dodge repeatedly, which increased the pressure on him.

Meanwhile, in the dense forest not far away, Upton, who had also jumped out of the helicopter, stood quietly, observing everything with a cold eye.

He scanned the beastmen on the battlefield one by one, his eyes gradually revealing the greedy gaze of a predator.

"Hey, Upton, what are you doing? Why aren't you joining in?"

Bakas's urgent voice came through the communication headset on the standard helmet.

A cold glint flashed in Upton's eyes, and he suddenly ripped off his helmet and stomped on it hard!

"Sizzle—sizzle—"

The helmet made a piercing crackling sound underfoot, emitting puffs of black smoke, before falling completely silent.

"Hahaha, Dr. Bakas, yes sir, I'll get started right away..."

Upton's face broke into a wild smile, and with a flash, he appeared before a Vimoa like a ghost.

He raised his hand and pressed down on the beastman's head. Vimoa let out a heart-wrenching scream, and his body shriveled up at a visible speed.

In the end, only a thin, dry layer of skin remained, stuck to Upton's palm like a fake leather suit.
