Entertainment News: Follow Wang Baoqiang's Rise to Film Emperor

"Oh……"

Lin Zhi's witty remark seemed to amuse Brother Yang, whose lips curled up slightly. He looked Lin Zhi up and down carefully and asked with interest, "You lad... you're quite interesting. How old are you this year? Where are you from? Did you study acting before?"

Lin Zhi stood ramrod straight, like a javelin, and answered truthfully, "Brother Yang, my name is Lin Zhi. I'll be 15 soon after the New Year. I'm from Shaanxi. I used to study martial arts at the Shaolin Temple. I just graduated and came to Beijing to work as an extra..."

"Although I don't have formal acting training, I work hard every day to learn and hone my acting skills!"

"I've done a lot of research, especially on playing villainous roles like thugs... Please give me a chance!"

"I will definitely give it my best and bring the character to life, to fully embody the role..."

Seeing Lin Zhi's sincere tone and humble attitude, which clearly indicated he was a clever person, and coupled with his handsome appearance, Brother Yang inexplicably felt a surge of goodwill towards this dashing young man. So he nodded and said, "Alright, you'll do..."

As he spoke, he waved over an assistant director: "Ah Wen, this is the actor Xiao Liu introduced. He'll play the role of the thug who gets stabbed to death later..."

"I have some things to take care of, so I won't be on set for a while. Once you've set up the set, hurry up and start filming. Don't waste the daylight."

"Damn it, we've gone way over budget these past few days. You guys really need to be careful. Don't waste time on unnecessary shots. Remember... saving money is the key!"

After saying that, he got up, climbed into a brand-new silver Mercedes-Benz parked nearby, started the engine, and drove away.

"Come with me, filming is about to start, we need to hurry up and get our makeup done..."

"You're lucky!"

"Originally, we privately discussed that we'd just find any random crew member on any film set to do a cameo role as this thug!"

"Because he didn't have many scenes, not even a couple of lines, I didn't expect Brother Yang to contact actors from outside... Ha!"

After Yang left the crew, the assistant director named "Awen" glanced at Lin Zhi and muttered something under his breath.

Then, taking the silent Lin Zhi, they went to the makeup truck to get their makeup done and change into their costumes.

After hastily finishing his makeup and changing into the somewhat smelly ancient costume, Lin Zhi went to the director, asked for a script, and then sat down to study the rogue role he would be playing.

However, after quickly glancing at the script twice, Lin Zhi looked away...

To be honest, there's really not much to think about with this thug character. He has so little screen time, and only two lines: "Are you looking for death?" and "Ah, you actually dare to kill me!"

He probably only appeared on screen for a little over a minute, mostly in action scenes, and his fate was naturally to be stabbed to death by the protagonist, dying a gruesome death!

Despite having very little screen time, Lin Zhi was neither discouraged nor did he look down on this minor role.

I didn't feel like the trip was a waste at all...

Because he should treat every role, big or small, with care!

To bring out the best in one's life to portray even the smallest supporting role... that is the most basic professional principle for a professional actor.

This is also what he should be doing right now!

He remembered a famous actor from Hong Kong who was known for playing villains, and he found it very insightful: "Although I have acted in bad movies, I have never played a bad role!"

Although actors are a very passive profession and cannot control or determine the quality of the entire play, they can determine whether a role is played well or not.

Even if the show is terrible and the role is small, as long as the actor puts in the effort, delivers the best performance, and doesn't slack off or just go through the motions, then that actor is definitely a professional and will be respected!

A talented and ambitious actor would definitely do this!

Lin Zhi is currently embarking on this professional path.

He also believes that his efforts and perseverance will benefit him for life and will not be wasted!

While opportunities are reserved for those who are prepared, they are also reserved for those who persevere in making persistent efforts in the right direction.

With these thoughts in mind, Lin Zhi noticed that the film crew seemed to have to wait a while before officially starting filming, so he read through the entire script from beginning to end...

To be honest, even though he had an astonishing amount of film and television experience in his previous life, having watched most of the well-known domestic and international films and television dramas, he had never seen the TV series "Pang Zhenkun, the Mischievous Genius".

I've never even heard of it!

This shows that Pang Zhenkun's work is "unpopular"!

Therefore, Lin Zhi wanted to see through the script what kind of story this TV series was telling...

Originally, this 39-episode historical drama was about the protagonist, Pang Zhenkun, who was the most talented scholar of his time, skilled in both literature and martial arts, and also liked to fight for justice, often teasing and dealing with local bullies and thugs.

As the imperial examination approached one year, he traveled to the capital with some classmates and friends. During the journey, a series of dramatic twists and turns occurred. In the end, he even became the top scholar in the imperial examination. However, he was framed by a villain and demoted by the emperor to the rank of Jinshi (a lower-level scholar). Later, he was further demoted to the rank of county magistrate.

After Pang Zhenkun served as the magistrate of a certain place for a period of time, he was heartbroken when a female supporting character, known as the most talented woman in the capital, died for him. He then took the female knight Hongye and retired to the mountains.

This TV series tells roughly this story!

It's hard to say whether it's good-looking or just melodramatic...

However, in this day and age, most TV dramas follow this pattern, so it's nothing new and we're used to it!

Next, just as Lin Zhi quickly flipped through the script and understood the general story of the TV series, and was preparing to mentally rehearse the role of the thug he would be playing later, a beautiful figure suddenly appeared in front of him, accompanied by a fragrant breeze, blocking his view.

"Oh...you're here! I've been looking for you for ages. Reading the script? What character are you playing later?"

The girl Jiang Xin's pleasant voice reached Lin Zhi's ears.

Just as Lin Zhi raised his head to look at the graceful Jiang Xin, Jiang Xin had already plopped down next to him, shoulder to shoulder.

"Jiang Xin...it's you. I'll be playing a thug who gets killed later."

Lin Zhi smiled and said.

The two then began to chat happily.

The conversation started with the show, then moved on to the film crew, and then to everyday life...

Through their conversation, Lin Zhi learned a lot about Jiang Xin. It turned out that Jiang Xin was not only close to his age, but also a fellow migrant worker in Beijing.

However, Jiang Xin lives in a rented apartment with her parents, and they accompany her daily.

While working odd jobs in Beijing, she also wanted to apply to the Central Academy of Drama!

However, in Lin Zhi's previous life, he saw Jiang Xin on a variety show, and she seemed to have told him that she had applied to the Central Academy of Drama three times before she became famous, but failed in the audition round each time.

But this didn't affect Jiang Xin's future career; she's quite a strong-willed actress...

The two chatted animatedly, and the film crew dragged on until after 10 a.m. When the executive producer, Brother Yang, returned from running errands, the crew slowly started moving again under Brother Yang's impatient and rude urging, and began filming in a half-hearted manner.

Upon seeing this scene, Lin Zhi shook his head inwardly, thinking to himself that this was truly a makeshift operation!
