Ultraman: Feed my daddy

Chapter 63 Losing the Future, or Losing the Present

"Seven platforms? In that case, I might have a solution, albeit a less-than-ideal one."

Yoshioka knew he was about to say a terrible idea, but he had to say it anyway.

Only in this way can they weather this crisis.

"Dr. Mizuno, do you remember the solution we came up with when we discussed the Lightning Man problem?"

"What plan?"

Dr. Mizuno felt a strange unease from Yoshioka's tone, as if something important was about to happen.

"The bio-virus extermination plan, don't get excited yet. I don't mean to eliminate the Lightning People, because that's impossible. I mean, we now have enough data and information about the Lightning People, so we should be able to create biological weapons specifically for them."

Before Dr. Mizuno and Horii could react with agitation, Yoshioka anticipated their reaction and pressed down with both hands to stop them.

"I just want to know the answer to this question because it concerns my plans, so I hope you can answer truthfully, Doctor. It's very important."

Yoshioka stared intently at Dr. Mizuno, making it clear that he was not joking or being angry with him, but was seriously considering the life and death of humanity.

"Okay, I understand."

After a brief eye contact, Dr. Mizuno gave in.

If it concerns the life and death of humanity...

"Our existing information about the Lightning People is more than enough for us to advance the development of biological weapons related to them. These biological weapons are not contagious, but they can effectively kill individual Lightning People and can even be isolated without affecting the production of special equipment."

Dr. Mizuno answered Yoshioka's question first, and then continued.

"The problem is that this bio-weapon can only kill Lightning Man, it is ineffective against Gazort unless it can be injected directly into his body."

To penetrate its outer layer composed of Sphia, Ebloon cells, and unknown monster cells, no carrier of biological weapons could break through such a terrifying defense.

Everyone knows that Gazort is made up of a collection of lightning men, but the bred Gazort is different from the ordinary Gazort. Its core is still a lightning man, but its outer shell is made up of layers of monster cells.

Tiga's Zepellion Ray only hit for a moment, scorching the area black, but failed to penetrate Gazort's outer defense.

What kind of weapon could possibly deliver these bio-weapons into Gazort's body and kill the Lightning Man?

"It's simple, just have Lightning Man carry these bio-weapons and they'll be able to break through Gazort's defenses, right?"

Faced with everyone's doubts, Yoshioka calmly replied.

"Dr. Mizuno, you said before that some of the Lightning Men who set out to make contact disappeared, right? They were swallowed by Gazort."

All we need to do is repeat this process to make Gazort willingly eat the Lightning Man with the bio-weapon!

If there are more than ten Gazorts, it might be a bit difficult, because our Lightning Man is only formed from the disintegration of a single Gazort, so the carrying capacity is limited, and each Gazort is also given a limited number of biological weapons. But what if we only have to deal with seven or eight?

The remaining Gazorts will be handed over to that special equipment. From now on, all cities will be modified to add 'cannon positions' for the special equipment to deal with Gazorts. Once Gazorts appear in the corresponding city, the Victory Flying Swallow will take the special equipment there to dismantle the enemy.

A special set of equipment should be able to handle just one Gazort.

Yoshioka finished explaining his entire plan in one breath, making Dr. Mizuno's chest heave violently. He almost fainted, but the students behind him helped him stand up.

However, he had to admit that Yoshioka's plan was indeed feasible, and it was almost the only solution they could think of at the moment.

The only problem is that this plan is based on betraying the Lightning People who are on friendly terms with them.

In this way, they effectively cut themselves off from the Lightning Man, completely parting ways with him and becoming locked in a life-or-death, irreconcilable conflict.

It's not just the Lightning People civilization.

A civilization that claims to be a good friend and a community with a shared future, is actually secretly collecting your biological information and researching a biochemical virus that could wipe out your race.

Furthermore, they use deception to lure those friendly members of this civilization into infiltrating their own groups with biological weapons, allowing them to launch precise strikes.

Such a civilization, in the vastness of the universe, would absolutely not find another civilization with whom it would truly connect.

Every civilization that has dealt with it has been trembling with fear, lest it launch an attack.

The only way to prevent it from attacking you is to destroy it first.

Humanity will become the common enemy of the universe.

For a moment, the entire command center fell into another terrifying silence.

Everyone was thinking about whether there were other solutions to refute Yoshioka's plan.

But after a long while, they still couldn't come up with a new plan.

It seems that TPC and Victory Team have no choice but to carry out this plan.

This caused Yoshioka to display an extremely conflicted expression, neither pain nor happiness.

He knew how important a friendly Lightning race was to the TPC, and he also knew the serious consequences that his plan and actions would lead to.

Everyone who carries out this plan, and everyone who knows about it, will carry a heavy burden of pressure for the rest of their lives.

Only when the last person who knew the truth dies, burying this secret and story completely on Earth, can humanity escape this unbearable past, move towards a new history, and venture into the universe.

Otherwise, this would be an eternal rift separating them from all other civilizations in the universe, one that cannot be healed and should never be healed.

If something goes wrong and this plan is leaked, humanity will lose its future.

But if this plan is not carried out, humanity may not even live to see that bleak, dark, and terrifying future.

Humanity's future will end at this moment.

Yoshioka's presentation of this plan may have been motivated by a desire for others to offer better ideas and completely refute his own.

But as things stand now, no one can come up with a better plan.

"Since that's the case, and since we have no other choice, then this plan is decided."

Yoshioka stood up, looked at everyone, and said this.

"I disagree!"

Seeing that no one intended to stop her, Lina suddenly stood up and voiced her opposition forcefully.

"So... Lina, do you have a better plan to implement? If there's another way, I'll abandon this plan immediately. If not, please give me another reason."

Yoshioka wasn't angry at Rena's objection; he simply spoke quietly.
