National Survival: I Supported the Dragon Nation by Hunting Dinosaurs

Zhang Li ignored the Thunder Dragon and Stegosaurus in the distance.

Those big ones are too big a target, and the risks and rewards are disproportionate.

What he needs most right now is not a sumptuous barbecue, but to familiarize himself with the system rules as soon as possible, spin the wheel as many times as possible, and complete the initial accumulation of physical fitness.

His gaze fell on the group of Compsognathus marked by the "All-Knowing Eye".

With a large number of monsters and low threat level, they are the perfect "beginner monsters".

He maintained his "optical adaptive camouflage," keeping his body low and using the ferns, which were taller than a person, as cover as he crept forward.

……

Dragon Kingdom Live Stream Room.

As Zhang Li began to act, the number of viewers in the live stream surged once again.

Yesterday's number one ranking was incredibly prestigious, and countless viewers, including many international netizens, are eager to see how this dark horse from China performs today.

[Here he comes! Li Shen has gone out hunting!]

[I just came from Brother Lengfeng's live stream. He's still reinforcing his shelter, while Lishen has already started a new round of hunting. Is this the difference?]

Wait, what is he going to do? Those little things in front, like turkeys, are they really worth Li Shen's attention?

The space upstairs is too small! There must be a reason why someone erected the shrine!

Many people are also worried about him.

Isn't it unnecessary to risk everything? There are still so many people inside the cave; wouldn't it be better to play it safe first? It's too dangerous outside!

Yes, so many people died yesterday, survival is the key!

In the jungle.

Zhang Li stopped about fifty meters away from the Compsognathus herd.

Ahead, in a clearing in the woods, five dinosaurs, each nearly a meter long with slender necks and heads resembling birds, are chasing a giant centipede that is over forty centimeters long.

Their movements are as fast as lightning, and they run silently.

Compsognathus: A small carnivorous dinosaur, a social creature capable of running at speeds up to 70 kilometers per hour. It was extremely alert and would flee at the slightest disturbance.

Zhang Li slowly took the cold composite crossbow from behind his back.

He knew he only had one chance.

If they fail, these cowardly creatures will vanish into the jungle in an instant, never giving him a second chance.

"Click".

He stepped on the lever, and the 200-pound bowstring was easily drawn back, with a triangular alloy crossbow bolt resting steadily in the quiver.

There were no extra aiming actions.

He squatted on the ground, his body slightly bent, the crossbow held horizontally, the three points aligned.

The entire movement was as smooth as flowing water...

At this moment, he was no longer the frail college student Zhang Li.

It was the ace special forces soldier who took people's heads amidst a hail of bullets.

It's now!

He pulled the trigger.

Om-!

The high-molecular-weight polyethylene bowstring emitted a vibrating sound.

The alloy crossbow bolt transformed into a black lightning bolt, instantly traversing a distance of fifty meters!

At the same time, a tremendous recoil force came from the crossbow.

Zhang Li groaned, his body staggering backward a step from the force.

"This body... is still too weak," he thought to himself.

Fortunately, he was prepared and held the crossbow firmly, ensuring the accuracy of the shot.

puff!

Blood splattered!

In the distance, a Compsognathus suddenly stiffened, looked down at the black arrow that had pierced it, and didn't even have time to let out a mournful cry.

The immense kinetic energy propelled it half a meter forward, where it was pinned firmly to a tree trunk. It twitched twice before falling completely silent.

One fatal blow!

This sudden death caused the remaining four Compsognathus to instantly bristle with anger.

They screamed in terror, not even glancing at the corpses of their companions, and fled frantically in different directions, disappearing without a trace in the blink of an eye.

……

The Dragon Kingdom's live stream room was initially silent, then erupted in chaos.

Holy crap! That's incredible accuracy!

That aiming posture, that decisiveness—so professional! Textbook-level!

However, the comments from the United States, mixed in with the comments, produced discordant voices.

[So what? Our competitor, Stephen Guli, also won the compound crossbow! He's a three-time consecutive shooting league champion! He can hit a frisbee from 150 meters away!]

That's right! Gu Li could hit a target the size of a turkey with her eyes closed!

……

at the same time.

In the prehistoric world, on a beach covered with black reefs.

A tall, blond young white man was excitedly stroking the crossbow in his hand.

It was none other than Stephen Guri, a player from the United States.

Yesterday, he only caught an unknown sea fish with his initial harpoon, ranking 78th, which made him very angry.

But now, with this powerful weapon, his confidence is off the charts.

"With this, I will be invincible! Even Tyrannosaurus Rex will become my prey!" Gu Li raised the crossbow, pointing it at the sky, full of vigor.

"Achoo—!"

He suddenly sneezed loudly.

"Damn it, who's talking about me, the future king, behind my back?" He rubbed his nose and muttered.

……

In the jungle, Zhang Li was unaware that he had been regarded as a hypothetical enemy by the "shooting champion" from across the ocean.

He removed his disguise, stepped forward, pulled out the crossbow bolt, and carefully wiped away the blood.

[Congratulations, host! You have successfully hunted down the 'Compsognathus'!]

[Hunting method: Long-range sniping with a crossbow, one shot kills.]

Overall rating: D!

Grade D?

Zhang Li frowned slightly.

Just as he had guessed.

The S-rank rating for the first kill is a "launch bonus" from the system.

To earn a high rating, you must hunt down more dangerous creatures.

[Completed the hunt, earned one chance to spin the roulette wheel!]

The illusory roulette wheel reappeared.

But this time, the options on the roulette wheel were far less dazzling than the first time.

[1. Running speed × 1.05]

[2. Arm strength +5kg]

[3. Stamina +3]

[4. Physical Strength +2]

They are all basic attribute bonuses, and the magnitude of the bonuses is pitifully small.

"It's better than nothing."

With a thought, Zhang Li made the roulette wheel start spinning.

The pointer slowly stopped on the option "[Arm Strength +5kg]".

In an instant, a faint warm current flowed into his arms, and the muscle fibers seemed to become firmer.

He clenched his fist and could clearly feel the increase in strength.

"At least next time, I won't be in such a sorry state," he thought to himself, weighing the crossbow in his hand.

After storing the Compsognathus carcass in his storage space, he didn't linger. He activated his "All-Seeing Eye" again and continued searching for his next target.

About an hour later, he found his second prey.

A herbivorous dinosaur nibbling on the roots of a fern.

[Fabrysaurus: A small ornithischian dinosaur, adults were about one meter long, herbivorous, and docile.]

Zhang Li followed suit.

This time, he was prepared. At the moment of firing, his legs firmly planted themselves, and he exerted his core strength. The huge recoil only made his body sway slightly.

The hunt was a success.

Overall rating: D!

[Congratulations, host! You have gained: Stamina +4!]

Another negligible attribute boost.

Zhang Li glanced at the sun overhead and estimated the time to be around 10 a.m.

The other contestants should have already left the shelter by now, busy preparing for today's food and tonight's sacrifice.

"The efficiency is too low."

Zhang Li stood still, his gaze becoming profound.

"At this rate, even if you kill a hundred different small dinosaurs, you'll only get some stat boosts, not a single decent skill."

"We need to increase the difficulty and hunt down some... truly troublesome beings!"

What he needs is a qualitative change, not a quantitative one!

Just as he made up his mind to prepare to hunt for even higher-level prey—

In the vision of the "All-Knowing Eye," a blood-red warning box suddenly exploded!

[WARNING!!! Top predator approaching!!!]

[Target: Adult female Tyrannosaurus Rex!]

Distance: 488 meters... 451 meters... 412 meters...

A terrifying roar, carrying unparalleled pressure, swept across the entire jungle!

It is coming!

And...it came straight in my direction!
