National Survival: I Supported the Dragon Nation by Hunting Dinosaurs

The light and shadow in the jungle are dappled and varied...

Zhang Li's figure almost blends into the environment.

Those small but clear footprints were the goal he was pursuing.

His live stream screen has now been completely relegated to the background.

The few hundred remaining viewers were mostly doing their own thing while the live stream was running.

"What is this guy doing? He's still running?"

"It's been an hour and a half. Apart from killing a toad, they've been running around in and out of the woods the whole time."

"Brother, I'm worried about you. Hurry and find shelter!"

The comments were few and far between, but mostly expressed concern for Zhang Li.

Unbeknownst to them, Zhang Li's concentration had reached its peak.

After walking about 1 kilometer, the footprints passed the edge of a damp swamp.

The air was thick with the stench of sulfur and rotting plants.

The All-Knowing Eye provided immediate feedback.

[Ancient swamp: Rich in sulfides, with shifting sands in some areas, and a complex ecosystem.]

[WARNING: Swarm of predators in the air!]

Zhang Li almost instinctively lowered his body and slowly raised his gaze.

A group of giant "dragonflies" with wingspans of nearly one meter were seen hovering low in the sky above the swamp.

Their transparent wings vibrated rapidly, producing a teeth-grinding "buzzing" sound, and their huge compound eyes gleamed with a metallic cold light in the sunlight.

[Giant dragonfly: Wingspan can reach 70 cm, carnivorous, uses its long and powerful legs to form a "net" to catch prey, then tears it apart with its sharp mouthparts to eat. It is extremely aggressive, danger level: medium (high when swarming)]

The trail of footprints led into the depths of the swamp.

Zhang Li frowned slightly.

Without the slightest hesitation, he immediately abandoned the straight-line pursuit and chose to carefully detour along the edge of the swamp.

Would you challenge a horde of flying predators for an uncertain first kill?

Utterly foolish.

……

The highest command center of the Dragon Kingdom.

The atmosphere was both lively and tense.

"Fantastic! As of now, our Dragon Kingdom is the only country with all 200 players still alive!"

He Jiong's voice trembled slightly.

On the huge screen wall, the real-time death toll had jumped to "59".

On average, one athlete disappears from this world every two minutes...

However, just as everyone was immersed in joy, a discordant voice came from the expert group.

A young tactical analyst frowned and said, "Report, we have one of our players behaving strangely."

The screen was switched to Zhang Li's split screen.

"Zhang Li, a student at Jiangcheng University. Since landing, he has been moving around erratically, without looking for water, building shelter, or showing any signs of actively hunting. His actions... are completely illogical."

He Jiong's smile froze for a moment.

Academician Ma also came over to take a look, his brow furrowed: "Strange, his stealth skills are very professional, but his purpose is truly puzzling. Could he have gotten lost?"

A piercing alarm suddenly sounded in the monitoring room.

"Quick! Something's happened to Li Yue!"

The technician's voice echoed throughout the hall.

He Jiong jumped up, staring at the screen: "What's going on?"

"She encountered a Stegosaurus!"

The scene switched instantly.

Women's basketball player Li Yue was leaning against a large tree, her face ashen, her right ankle swollen terribly...

Less than twenty meters in front of her, a seven-meter-long Stegosaurus was slowly turning around.

The four bone spurs gleamed coldly in the sunlight; each one was as thick as an adult's arm.

"Oh no! Li Yue is injured!"

"That's a Stegosaurus! She can't escape!"

"My ankle is injured, I can't pick up any speed at all, this is really the end!"

The comments section was flooded with messages.

Academician Ma frowned, watching the Stegosaurus's slow but threatening movements. He said in a deep voice, "Although the Stegosaurus was a herbivorous dinosaur, it had a very strong sense of territory. Li Yue has clearly strayed into its territory..."

Before he could finish speaking, the Stegosaurus moved.

It strained with all four limbs, its tail held high, and approached Li Yue.

Li Yue gritted her teeth and tried to get up, but the injury to her ankle made her stagger and almost fall.

"Run! Run faster!"

The audience's hearts were in their throats.

Just then, a figure suddenly rushed out from the bushes on the side.

"Li Yue! Come this way!"

It was a burly man holding a standard military knife.

He sprinted at an extremely fast speed, almost instantly cutting between Li Yue and Jianlong.

The man suddenly swung his military knife, striking the back of the blade heavily against a tree trunk.

"Thump! Thump! Thump!"

The Stegosaurus's attention was instantly drawn, and it turned around and swung its tail at the man.

"Snapped!"

The four bone spikes whistled through the air, grazing the man's scalp. He rolled away, barely dodging them.

"Hurry up!"

Li Yue gritted her teeth, struggled to get up, and limped away in the opposite direction.

"Holy crap! It's Wang Qiang!"

"A veteran among the Chinese athletes!"

"Good brother!"

"This is true camaraderie!"

The barrage of comments exploded instantly.

Academician Ma also became excited: "Wang Qiang's decision was absolutely correct! He didn't choose to fight Jianlong head-on, but instead used sound and movements to attract attention, buying Li Yue time to escape! That's true tactical skill!"

In the scene, Wang Qiang dodges left and right under the attack of the Stegosaurus.

Every time the Stegosaurus swung its tail, it created a gust of wind.

The trees were swept away and snapped in half.

But Wang Qiang's gaze remained calm. He calculated the angle of each dodge and even had the energy to observe Li Yue's escape route.

A dozen seconds later, the Stegosaurus seemed to lose patience, let out a low growl, and turned to leave.

Wang Qiang finally breathed a sigh of relief and quickly caught up with Li Yue.

Are you alright?

"I...I can still hold on..." Li Yue's voice was weak, and her forehead was covered in cold sweat.

Wang Qiang didn't say much, but checked his ankle and found a slight dislocation.

So he acted immediately, pressing Li Yue's ankle back down before she could react.

"It's nothing! It's probably just a habitual dislocation! A day of rest will do the trick!"

Li Yue looked at Wang Qiang's technique and said thank you.

"Let's find a safe place first; we can't stay here any longer."

Li Yue nodded and forced herself to stand up.

The two supported each other and disappeared into the depths of the jungle.

Academician Ma also showed a rare smile: "Very good, this is the first time that Chinese players have met! Their teamwork has begun to take shape. This is a very good sign."

He Jiong breathed a sigh of relief and was about to say something.

Suddenly, the technician shouted again, "Wait! In the direction of Wang Qiang and Li Yue..."

The camera zooms out.

Everyone could see that Wang Qiang and Li Yue were heading towards an ancient swamp!

And at the edge of that area was the very place Zhang Li had just passed through!

He Jiong was stunned for a moment: "This...they're going to run into each other?"
