I started with a portal, then turned around and handed it over to the nation.

"I suggest that everyone be equipped with the latest infrared thermal imagers. As long as they have body temperature, they will be red targets under the thermal imaging lens."

"no."

Sun Dehai immediately retorted, pouring cold water on the idea from a professional perspective:

"The environment of another world is complex. What if they are cold-blooded animals? What if their body temperature can be regulated to match the environment? Like snakes."

"Moreover, that world has a lot of bioluminescent moss and geothermal activity, so the background noise in thermal imaging would be very high."

"In complex jungle environments, relying on thermal imaging to distinguish individual fast-moving, cold-blooded targets results in a very high false alarm rate."

"What about the sonar?"

Zhang Yi, as an engineering expert, offered his perspective:

"We've integrated miniature sonar arrays into the helmet. Whenever they move, they produce sound and vibration. We use echolocation to pinpoint their location."

"That won't work either."

This time, the rebuttal came from Chen Yan of the China North Industries Group Corporation Limited (NORINCO):

"The size and weight of individual soldier sonar devices are too large, and their accuracy is severely affected by the environment."

"The jungle is filled with the sounds of wind, leaves, and insects. Filtering out the cat demon's footsteps from all this noise requires a lot of computing power."

"Current individual soldier chips cannot perform real-time processing."

"Moreover..." Chen Yan pointed to the ceiling, "we don't know the magnetic field conditions of that world. If the magnetic field is abnormal and the electronic equipment malfunctions, the soldiers will become blind."

Thermal imaging is unreliable, and sonar may not be able to do it either.

The meeting room fell into another deadlock.

Just then, a young staff officer sitting in the corner raised his hand.

Zhao Zhenguo glanced at him and said, "Speak."

The young staff officer stood up, swallowing nervously.

"Um... I have a rough idea, which comes from Lam Ching-ying's zombie movies."

Upon hearing the word "zombie movie," several veteran experts frowned.

But the young staff officer didn't stop; he quickened his pace:

"In movies, the protagonist usually sprinkles glutinous rice to deal with invisible ghosts."

"Glutinous rice?" Zhao Zhenguo raised an eyebrow.

"Yes, in other words, we can try flour or lime powder!"

The young staff officer's thoughts became clearer as he spoke, gesturing famously in the air with his hands:

"As long as the ground is covered with powder, they will leave footprints when they walk on it. As long as there is dust in the air, they will leave tracks when they move."

"And if the powder sticks to them..."

The young staff officer's eyes lit up:

"Then they've essentially put on a revealing garment!"

"This requires no high technology, no chips, no consideration of magnetic fields—it's purely a physical method!"

"Great idea!"

Long Fei suddenly slapped his thigh, his eyes lighting up:

"This method may be a bit old-fashioned, but it works!"

"We can modify smoke grenades!"

Long Fei stood up, walked to the whiteboard, picked up a marker, and quickly sketched a draft:

"Replace the conventional smoke generator with a highly adhesive fluorescent powder."

"In the event of an attack, it will detonate immediately. The dust will cover a radius of twenty meters."

"As long as those cat demons are within this area, they'll be covered in fluorescent powder. Then, forget about invisibility; they'll just be glowing live targets!"

"It's not just a smoke bomb."

Zhang Yi followed suit and immediately added:

"Stun grenades can be modified! Add a large amount of lightweight dyeing powder to the stun grenades."

"At the moment of the explosion, the intense light caused blindness, the loud noise caused deafness, and dust spread at the same time."

"This can instantly break their stealth advantage and create chaos."

As Chen Yan listened to the imaginative ideas of these frontline soldiers, his pen flew across his notebook as he jotted down notes, muttering to himself:

"High adhesion...fluorescence...staining..."

"Rhodamine B dye, or a more advanced tactical marking powder, can be used. This powder is difficult to wash off once it gets on the skin, and it will fluoresce strongly under ultraviolet light."

"We can attach ultraviolet tactical flashlights to the guns."

"Yes! It can also be used in conjunction with napalm!"

Another staff officer joined the discussion, speaking in a harsh tone:

"Since we're afraid they'll get close, let's build a burning barrier!"

"Use drones to drop incendiary bombs around the perimeter of the formation, creating a wall of fire. The flames will cast shadows on invisible creatures, and the high temperatures will force them to generate heat, which is where thermal imaging comes in handy!"

The atmosphere in the meeting room became extremely lively.

Everyone chimed in with their opinions, from physical covering to chemical staining, from fire attacks to electric grids, and a whole host of other methods to combat "stealth" were proposed.

As Zhao Zhenguo watched this scene, his tightly furrowed brows finally relaxed.

He picked up the cigarette case on the table, took out a cigarette, and tapped it lightly on the table.

"it is good."

Zhao Zhenguo lit a cigarette, took a deep drag, and through the swirling smoke, his voice was steady and powerful:

"Now that we have a plan, let's put it into practice."

"Engineer Chen, I need to see samples of these 'visible smoke grenades' and 'dye stun grenades' from your weapons group within three days."

"There is only one requirement: the dust must be fine, the adhesion must be strong, and the color must be eye-catching."

"No problem!" Chen Yan agreed loudly. "We have riot control dye in our warehouse. We can just modify the formula a little and it will be ready to use."

"Liu Jianjun".

"arrive!"

"Prepare a large quantity of industrial flour or talcum powder. If high technology is unreliable, we'll use the most primitive method."

"Put two packets of powder in each soldier's backpack. When they rest, sprinkle some around the camp."

"Yes!" Liu Jianjun quickly took notes.

"As for that deadly poison..."

Zhao Zhenguo turned his gaze to Sun Dehai.

Sun Dehai gave a wry smile and shook his head:

"General, without a sample, I cannot develop an antidote. 'Putrid plague,' judging from the name, should be some kind of neurotoxin or necrotic bacteria."

"Currently, the only solution is physical isolation."

Sun Dehai pointed to Long Fei's combat uniform:

"The existing Kevlar body armor is not effective against stab wounds. I suggest that all frontline personnel be equipped with fully enclosed stab-proof vests."

"Like the kind used by riot police, with a layer of high-strength polyethylene fiberboard inside. Although it sacrifices a little flexibility, it can save lives."

"Also, you must wear a gas mask to prevent inhaling toxic fumes or dust."

Long Fei nodded: "No problem. A little less agility is better than losing our lives. As long as we can see them, even if we're wearing metal buckets, we can smash them."

The basic framework of the tactics has been finalized.

Lin Mo looked at the plan that was quickly taking shape on the whiteboard, and then at the experts and soldiers around him who had serious expressions and spoke at a rapid pace. His tense nerves finally relaxed a little.

He is not alone in facing all of this.

"Alright."
