Starting with God's perspective, how to lose an interstellar war?
Chapter 84 The Orbital Elevator!
S-grade, and even higher-sequence gene optimizers that are rumored to exist only in theory or top-secret files.
That level of technology has long surpassed the simple and crude expansion of the body.
Their effects extend deep into the cellular level, optimizing metabolic pathways, enhancing nerve reflexes, significantly extending telomeres to delay aging, and comprehensively improving immunity and environmental adaptability.
The external physical characteristics change very little, and they may even appear more well-proportioned and lean than the average person due to metabolic optimization.
Qin Beiwang looked tall and slender, even somewhat thin, not at all like a strong type.
But only he himself knows the astonishing explosive power, endurance, and recovery ability hidden within this seemingly "thin" body.
The brute strength that Captain Feng was so proud of would probably be no match for him.
As for prolonging life... he thought of the white-haired, dignified old generals in the Joint Staff.
Many of them may actually be over two hundred years old, but they look like they are in their fifties or sixties.
That full head of white hair, "symbolizing wisdom and seniority," is mostly "skin" that is deliberately preserved, or even maintained through technical means.
In situations where they need to project approachability or energy, they can easily "switch" back to a more youthful state.
Genetic enhancement is no secret among the federal elite; it is another invisible marker of class and dimension of power.
"It's just a matter of different grades of injectable drugs."
Qin Beiwang whispered to Zhuang Zhixuan, his tone as calm as if he were stating an objective fact.
"If it really comes to the point where we have to dismantle mechs by hand, then the fleet is doomed."
After a brief interlude, the reception staff arrived and led Qin Beiwang and his group to the rail elevator leading to the ground.
They passed through a dedicated passageway and entered a spacious, clean, and futuristic elevator car.
The interior of the car is cylindrical, with the sides and top made of a special transparent material. It is not traditional glass, but rather a solidified energy field, crystal clear.
The interior is comfortable, with fixed seats and armrests, a pleasant temperature, and stable air pressure, making it almost impossible to feel any movement.
A young officer curiously reached out and touched the transparent "glass" inside the carriage; it was cool and smooth to the touch.
He gasped in surprise.
"Not hot at all?"
We're going to have to go through the atmosphere!
A slightly older receptionist next to him smiled.
"This is a multi-layered composite field confinement material. The outermost layer is an active energy deflection shield, which can effectively disperse and offset most of the frictional heat and particle impact during reentry into the atmosphere."
Its security is more focused on single-aspect protection than warship shields, so please rest assured.
Just then, a slight humming sounded, and the car began to descend smoothly and at an accelerated pace.
Through the transparent walls of the elevator car, the view outside suddenly opens up.
The first thing you see is countless "beams of light" parallel to them, emitting different colored guiding lights—those are other track elevators that are in operation.
Within some of the beams of light, one could vaguely see enormous, container-shaped freight elevator capsules, like steel blocks strung together by an invisible hand, moving up and down at an alarmingly steady pace, flowing endlessly.
The adjacent passenger elevator capsules are even more exquisite, like shimmering shuttles gliding silently along light tracks.
The capsules moving up and down weave a magnificent picture full of mechanical beauty and ultimate efficiency in this vertical channel between heaven and earth.
As the altitude rapidly decreased, a faint, dreamlike blue-white glow began to emanate from the exterior of the cabin—a halo produced by the interaction between the energy shield and the upper atmosphere.
The sea of clouds below was easily penetrated, and the details on the planet's surface were magnified rapidly.
Breaking through the last clouds, the surface of the capital planet unfolded before our eyes like a giant scroll painting.
It was a boundless steel forest made of metals, crystals, and composite materials.
Countless towering skyscrapers stand side by side, their surfaces not simply curtain walls, but photon panels that flow with data light or display dynamic landscapes.
Between the giant buildings, there is a well-organized three-dimensional transportation network: various types of aircraft—from personal shuttles to small public transport boats—speed along translucent guide light paths, like cells rushing through blood vessels, busy but never colliding.
Further away, a massive floating GG platform slowly moves, projecting holographic images covering several city blocks.
On the facades of some of the tallest or most prominent buildings, huge holographic projections are playing on a loop.
The most conspicuous category is undoubtedly the recruits from the Federal military:
In the scene, a streamlined Federation starship fires a salvo from its side, the blinding beams of its main cannons tearing through the dark starry sky, piercing the shields of an Imperial warship, tearing its hull apart, and exploding into a dazzling yet brutal fireball.
The scene shifts to several humanoid mechs painted with the Federation insignia roaring out of the landing pods. Heavy assault rifles spit fire, tearing huge gaps in the outer walls of the Imperial ground fortresses. The movements are fierce and full of power.
Then, a rousing, drum-beat-background greeting from the male voice began to play:
"Your vision should reach farther than the starlight! Your fury should burn for the Federation! — Interstellar Naval Recruiting Bureau"
"Our homeland lies beneath our feet, our enemies lie before us! With steel as our bodies, we will build a Great Wall! — Interstellar Army Recruitment Bureau"
"All for the Federation's future! Glory be with you!"
GG's visuals are incredibly impactful, its soundtrack is exhilarating, and its slogans are inspiring, attempting to portray war as a noble cause filled with heroism and ultimate dedication.
Inside the sedan chair, Qin Beiwang's men watched quietly.
They had just returned from a real, bloody battlefield filled with calculation and sacrifice.
The scenes in GG were both familiar and strange to them. They were familiar with the weapons and settings, but strange with the "romance" and "passion" created through careful editing and background music.
A sub-fleet commander watched the slow-motion close-up of the mechs charging in GG, a smirk playing on his lips, and whispered to his companion.
"They didn't include footage of the mech being blasted to pieces by anti-tank missiles and the pilot burning to a crisp in the cockpit."
His companion, a gunner, stared blankly at the starship firing in unison.
"There were no scenes of the engine room overload and explosion, or of it being beaten like a dead fish after being paralyzed by Imperial electronic warfare."
Zhuang Zhixuan stood beside Qin Beiwang and said softly.
"For publicity purposes."
Qin Beiwang's gaze swept over the dazzling GGs, then over the orderly yet seemingly invisible bustling city below.
Everything here is glamorous, efficient, and full of hope.
What the recruiting team is trying to portray is a refined sense of "honor" and "responsibility".
What they brought back from Savannah was the true weight beneath the honor, the cold numbers behind the responsibility, and the undeniable scars within the victory.
