Shocking! The actress was dragged to the regent's bedchamber every night.

Chapter 331 Should you wash first or should I wash first?

Su Wuli turned around and handed the remaining bags of hand warmers to the soldier next to her, asking him to distribute them to the others.

She followed Yu Chen toward the tent flap, trailing behind him.

When they reached the tent and he lifted the curtain, a cold wind rushed in, so he stepped aside to let her go out first.

Su Wuli quickly bent down and crawled out, and he followed behind her.

Gradually, it became that he walked in front of her, and she followed behind him.

The two walked one after the other on the snow.

His footprints were deep, and she followed in them, each step landing perfectly in a hole so she wouldn't sink in.

Su Wuli walked a few steps with her head down, when she suddenly felt someone's gaze on her.

She looked up and saw Yu Chen turning his head to look at her.

She followed in his footprints all the way, leaning half her body in front of him, almost side by side.

He immediately stopped and retreated to the back.

Yu Chen smiled, turned around, and continued walking.

Su Wuli pursed her lips and followed in the footprints.

It's much warmer inside the tent than outside.

Su Wuli's fingernails were full of stuff.

Iodine solution, the dark red of blood scabs, and the grayish-white of some unknown ointment were embedded in the nail crevices.

I tried wiping it with a cloth, but it wasn't clean enough.

She walked to the basin and put her hands in to soak, but pulled them back as soon as her fingers touched the water.

The water was so cold that her knuckles ached.

Yu Chen stood up from the low table, picked up the basin of water, bent down, and walked out.

A moment later, he returned carrying a basin, which was steaming.

He placed the basin of water at her feet, squatted down, pulled her hand out of her sleeve, and pressed it into the water.

"It's hot." Su Wuli flinched.

Yu Chen didn't let go, but pressed her hand to the bottom of the basin.

The hot water covered her fingers and wrists.

The heat seeped from the surface of the skin inwards, penetrating into the bone crevices, pushing the cold air out little by little.

Su Wuli stopped shrinking back and obediently spread her hands out for him to wash.

Yu Chen held her fingers and rubbed them one by one.

He pushed his thumb under her nails, squeezing the marks out of the gaps.

He rubbed very slowly, without rushing or getting impatient.

Su Wuli looked down at his hand, and saw the man's well-defined fingers slipping through hers.

The water flowed through my fingers, carrying away all the dirt with it.

Su Wuli looked at his thumb, which was pushing back and forth, and suddenly said, "You washed it so clean, we're going again tomorrow."

Yu Chen paused for a moment, then continued pushing, "Let's talk about it tomorrow."

After saying that, he took her hand out of the water, wrapped it in a handkerchief and wiped it, then turned it over and wiped her palm.

When the handkerchief was removed, her fingers were clean.

His fingernails were a pale pink, and his fingertips were red and a little sore from rubbing them.

Su Wuli stood up.

Yu Chen remained squatting and looked up at her.

His gaze moved from bottom to top and landed on her face.

Su Wuli pulled her sleeve down to cover her fingers.

The man reached out and pushed up her sleeve, revealing her forearm.

He glanced at her and pulled down her sleeve.

"Afraid the soldiers are cold, you're stuffing them with hand warmers one by one?" His voice carried a hint of displeasure. "I've been standing naked in the tent for half a day, and you're not afraid?"

Upon hearing this, Su Wuli was taken aback.

Suddenly realizing what she'd just said, she opened her mouth as if to say that the man was being a scoundrel.

Yu Chen looked at her, who seemed to want to explain but couldn't find the words, and his lips twitched slightly. "And you want me to go out naked."

Su Wuli's face flushed instantly, and she retorted, "That's just being a scoundrel."

"Hmm," he responded, admitting it, "playing the rogue."

Su Wuli hadn't expected him to admit it so readily. Her lips trembled as she muttered softly, "Didn't I put it on you later?"

Yu Chen stood up, walked up to her, looked down at her, and asked, "What do we do now?"

What should I do?

What can we do?

Su Wuli simply ignored him, lowered her head and buried herself in his arms, her forehead pressed against his chest.

Her face was pressed against the cotton fabric of his undershirt.

She reached her hand out of her sleeve and hugged his waist. "Then... shall I be your hand warmer?"

The sound was muffled in his chest.

As soon as she finished speaking, she heard the man laugh, which made her ears, which were pressed against his chest, go numb.

"When have you ever slept without using me as a heater?"

Upon hearing this, Su Wuli lifted her head from his chest and glared at him, but after a moment she buried her face back down.

I don't want to admit it, but I can't refute it.

What he said was indeed true.

She snuggled closer to him, burying her face deeper, tightening her arms around him and shaking them a couple of times, like a child being affectionate.

His chest trembled slightly, and he smiled again.

"That's different," she said in a muffled voice, with a hint of unreasonable stubbornness.

Yu Chen didn't ask her what was different; he simply placed his hand on the back of her head and gently massaged it.

After a moment, she stepped out of the man's arms, bent down and took out a hand warmer from the pack left for him, tore open the packaging, and pretended to stick it on his chest.

However, before she could even stick it on, Yu Chen reached out and brushed it away, then snatched the bag of hand warmers from her hand and threw it on the low table.

He then pulled her into his arms and hugged her tightly, saying, "One hand warmer is enough."

Su Wuli paused for a moment, then looked up at him.

Realizing what he meant, she lowered her head and buried her face in his chest.

Her lips curved slightly upward, and her nose brushed against the crook of his neck.

Beneath the masculine aura, there seemed to be something else pressing down.

She frowned, then brought her face close to his neck and sniffed again.

It smells like blood.

But something felt off; I wasn't sure if it was on his body or mine.

She also spent most of the day in the wounded soldiers' camp.

Then she lifted her head from his chest, sniffed his neck, and then lowered her head to smell her own cuffs.

It looks like it's on her.

She leaned closer to his neck and sniffed, her nose brushing against his skin.

Yu Chen noticed her movements and looked down at her nose as she sniffed around in the crook of his neck.

No action was taken.

"Take a shower tonight." He slid his hand down her hair and gently pressed on the back of her neck.

Upon hearing this, Su Wuli stopped sniffing and pressed her face back against his neck, her nose touching his Adam's apple.

She lay on his chest for a while, then lifted her head. "Do you want to wash first, or should I?"

He looked at her but didn't answer immediately.

Seeing this, she added, "Two people can't shower together here."

However, she regretted it as soon as she said it.

It seems he didn't say anything, but it was she...

Realizing she had said too much, Su Wuli thought she should say, "Then you go first."

But before he could say it, the man said quietly, "Let's shower together."
