Chapter 238 Every living being has a sacred mountain in their heart

Chapter 238 Every living being has a sacred mountain in their heart.

It was because he had considered this aspect that Ao Peng came to ask Sun Wukong, or rather, the Great Sage Equaling Heaven at this moment!

If he wants to hold Yama accountable, then he should first take this opportunity to establish a netherworld accountability mechanism, and use this great merit to merge with the Peach of Subduing Ghosts, so that he can release Sun Wukong ahead of time.

Because Sun Wukong has a direct interest in this matter, he will be completely bound to his cause, unlike other powerful beings who can withdraw at any time. With the help of Sun Wukong, he will have the opportunity to unleash his power later.

Of course, if he were to leave like this, he might not be able to escape from the Journey to the West world at all, because he would have completely reversed and ruined the entire Journey to the West process.

That's why Ao Peng was hesitant. He came here to ask his elder brother whether he was the Great Sage Equal to Heaven or the Victorious Fighting Buddha.

Sun Wukong blinked, and seeing Ao Peng's hesitation, asked with a smile, "Brother, is something on your mind?"

Ao Peng exhaled a breath of stale air, then asked, "I just wanted to ask, brother, are you the Great Sage Equaling Heaven or the Victorious Fighting Buddha right now?"

Since Zhang Tianshi was able to understand his own incarnation in this period of history, it is not surprising that Ao Peng could do the same for Sun Wukong.

Sure enough, upon hearing Ao Peng's question, Sun Wukong cleverly countered, "Then, my worthy brother, are you General Wu Gong or the World Honored One?"

Ao Peng felt a shiver run through his body.

That's it!

The Tathagata is the beginning, and the World-Honored One is the end!

Although Ao Peng did not have the same comprehensive understanding of the nature of this world as Guanyin Bodhisattva.

But he also knew his true purpose in coming to this world.

Nagarjuna Bodhisattva sent the book "Journey to the West: The Explanation of Calamities" to him, creating this opportunity for himself. He had made it very clear: He wanted to use the opportunity of his Nirvana to give himself a chance to find new Buddhism and prevent Buddhism from continuing to develop on the wrong path.

It is clear that Buddhism in the Journey to the West world has actually deviated from the right path.

But deviating from the right path does not mean it cannot exist.

On the contrary, because of the spread of Journey to the West, the people of the empire actually learned a lot about Buddhism from it. Therefore, in their eyes, Buddhism could indeed alter cause and effect and change lifespan. It was also a righteous path for the Buddha to spread the Dharma and collect money. As long as everyone ate vegetarian food and recited Buddhist scriptures, they would naturally be able to go to the Pure Land after death.

On the contrary, those who do not believe in Buddhism or recite Buddhist scriptures will naturally have bodhisattvas appear to manifest retribution.

This understanding then spread from the real world to the many medium and small chiliocosms that evolved from the real world. Therefore, Buddhism went astray, and this was a deviation that both Buddhism and those who heard it went astray together.

Therefore, according to the Buddha, although demons roamed the land of Xiniu Hezhou and the monks were angry and foolish, they were not greedy or murderous, and they cultivated their inner energy and nurtured their spirits. Although there were no supreme beings, everyone lived a long life. Although the land of Nanzhanbuzhou belonged to the prosperous Tang Dynasty, it was filled with greed, lust, and strife, with much killing and fighting. It was a place of fierce words and a sea of evil.

The only difference between the two is that the book is a blank book, and this book only became precious because of the word "Buddha".

The Buddha is the beginning; the World-Honored One is the end, and those who practice the Buddha are the ultimate achievement.

It was precisely because he wanted to do this that the ancient gods of the underworld helped him, and that Laozi ordered Zhang Tianshi to open his cave and evolve the Taiji Creation Dao.

Seeing that Ao Peng had come to his senses, Sun Wukong scratched the flower in his hair and suddenly brought up another matter, "A few days ago, Guanyin Bodhisattva came to visit me."

Ao Peng instantly understood Sun Wukong's unspoken message: the Buddhas of Mount Ling had noticed the changes here and had even begun to make some preparations.

When a powerful figure like Guanyin Bodhisattva intervenes, it certainly won't be without reason.

But Ao Peng didn't sense Guanyin Bodhisattva's intervention. It was obvious that this powerful figure had set a huge trap, just waiting for him to step into it!

He feared the Buddhas of Mount Ling, but the Buddhas of Mount Ling were not without fear of his background. That's why things were calm between them, and they even seemed to be helping each other. But beneath this calm surface, a gentle breeze could cause the eight ghost generals to perish and die decades ahead of time. This is the true meaning of gods fighting and mortals suffering. Even the ghost generals who could reverse yin and yang in the eyes of mortals were as light as ashes.

Sun Wukong pointed to the Five Elements Mountain on his back and said, "My brother once reminded me that this mountain arose because of my karmic consequences, but do you know where this mountain is today?"

Ao Peng exclaimed with emotion, "Everyone has a sacred mountain in their heart!"

"Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!"

After hearing Ao Peng's reply, Sun Wukong praised him three times.

His eyes shone with a light as bright as the Dipper, piercing through layers of celestial clouds, so that all the gods and Buddhas in the heavens could see it!

The Western Paradise, a sacred mountain, is shrouded in auspicious clouds, where the eight treasures converge, bringing immeasurable merit and boundless blessings.

The Arhats and Bodhisattvas sat on lotus thrones, looking down into the sea of suffering below, listening to the Buddha explain the Tripitaka. Suddenly, two beams of light, as bright as the stars, pierced through the clouds and mist of Mount Ling, distracting the Arhats and shaking the minds of the Bodhisattvas.

The Arhats, puzzled, saw the Buddha suddenly stop preaching and hurriedly asked, "Your Majesty, just now this light pierced through the auspicious clouds and mist of our sacred mountain. Has some demon been reborn?"

The Buddha sat solemnly on a golden lotus, and said with a smile, "It's just that the monkey demon I suppressed under Mount Ling a few days ago is still resentful."

The Arhat who asked the question looked greatly alarmed. "That demon monkey was suppressed by you, Buddha, with the Five Elements Mountain and the Six-Syllable Mantra of Light affixed to it. How could it still possess such supernatural powers? Should we report this to the Heavenly Court and have a few more mountains placed on it?"

The Buddha's smile faded as he sat serenely on the lotus, his wisdom unwavering. "It's alright," he said, "everyone has a sacred mountain in their heart. Whether they have more or fewer, it doesn't matter. They cannot move this sacred mountain. It is precisely because this sacred mountain exists that my Buddha's teachings appear boundless!"

At the foot of the Five Elements Mountain, Ao Peng sighed inwardly, understanding Sun Wukong's meaning.

The mountain before us is the karmic consequence of Sun Wukong's actions, the karmic consequence of all the gods and Buddhas, and the predicament of all cultivators.

In order to cultivate oneself, one constantly compromises with oneself and the outside world. In the end, one attains immeasurable supernatural powers, but who is ultimately imprisoned under the mountain—the Great Sage Equal to Heaven or the Victorious Fighting Buddha?

Clearly, Sun Wukong was also facing this dilemma. He realized that his restless mind was being gradually refined, and he gradually transformed from a mischievous monkey causing trouble on Flower Fruit Mountain into the Victorious Fighting Buddha, a symbol of truth, goodness, and beauty in the eyes of the world.

He did indeed become the Infinite Golden Body, becoming the light in the eyes of the world, but this light was built upon the unchanging system of Mount Ling.

The names on the Book of Life and Death change every year, but they are no longer drawn by that mischievous monkey.
