Chapter 241 Using the Heart as a Boundary, Suppressing an Era

The Bodhisattva sat serenely atop a red lotus with eighteen petals, gazing upon the five kneeling ghost generals before her. "Do you recognize who I am?"

The five ghost generals quickly replied, "Of course we recognize you. You are Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, who is here to save all the ghosts of the ten directions."

"Although we committed murder in our youth, we repent today. We pray that the Bodhisattva will take us in, let us hear your Dharma, and cleanse our sins."

Upon hearing this, the surrounding Arhats and Bhikkhunis all laughed and said, "The Dharma is good, the Dharma is good! After hearing the Dharma, there is no more worry, and all sins and transgressions are eradicated!"

However, the voices of the Arhats and Bhikkhunis were too loud, lacking the tranquility of morning bells and evening drums. Instead, they sounded like ten thousand cicadas vibrating their wings, making the Five Ghost Generals restless and agitated.

The Bodhisattva looked at the five ghost generals and continued to ask, "Have you killed anyone on your way to my palace?"

The Five Ghost Generals' hearts skipped a beat, realizing something was wrong. However, being cunning, even with the Bodhisattva in front of them, they still forced themselves to say, "I will not kill you."

He thought to himself that he had only eaten a male ghost, so it was neither murder nor lying.

But the next moment, to the disbelief of the five ghost generals, the Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha before them reached out and opened his own chest, revealing that his internal organs were missing. "You still dare to say you didn't kill anyone? You've all eaten my internal organs!"

His chest was covered in blood, and his heart, liver, spleen, lungs, and kidneys were all empty, as if they had been devoured by something!

The Arhats and nuns beside them, no longer dignified and solemn, swayed from side to side and sneered, saying, "Eating the heart and liver of the Bodhisattva is good; it's more useful than listening to the Dharma."

For a moment, the surrounding Buddha light swayed, reflecting on the faces of many Arhats and Bhikkhunis, the light and shadow were disordered, even more distorted than the ghosts under the command of the Five Directions Ghost Generals!

Even the most foolish ghost generals realized they'd been tricked at this point, and they jumped up, pointing at Ksitigarbha and shouting, "Who are you? You're not Ksitigarbha!"

The Bodhisattva, seated atop the red lotus, still looked compassionately at the five demon generals and asked again, "Do you recognize who I am?"

The five ghost generals used all their supernatural powers to look at the Bodhisattva in front of them. They thought they also had some supernatural powers, and now that the illusion had been broken, they should be able to see the true form of the Bodhisattva in front of them. Unfortunately, no matter how they looked, they could only see pure Buddha light. However, this Buddha light became even more distorted amidst the wicked laughter of the Arhats and Bhikkhunis around them.

Such blasphemy terrified even the most wicked demons from all directions, who hastily gathered up dark clouds and fled outside the Cuiyun Palace.

In their panic, they flew aimlessly, not knowing how long they had flown, only feeling that they had flown at least ten thousand miles. When the five of them finally stopped, they discussed in fear, "What was that demon just now? Why was it sitting in the Cuiyun Palace, daring to impersonate Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva in front of everyone? Don't the Ten Kings of Hell care?!"

Wan Gu Gong was terrified. He said, "Forget what that demon is. Our only way out now is to find a remote place to hide for a few hundred years. This world is vast, there must be a place for us brothers to stay."

"Yes, why don't we go to Xiniu Hezhou to look for opportunities? I've heard that the demons there live much more comfortably than in the East. Beyond the Five Elements Mountain lies another continent. With our brothers' abilities, we can change our names and live a second life!"

As the ghost generals were discussing, a sixth voice suddenly came out, "This world is vast, and there is a place for you all to live, so there is naturally a place for me to live as well. I won't take up too much space; I'll just take your hearts as my home."

The sound wasn't eerie, but in the vast, dark void, as it traveled on the cold wind to the ears of the ghost generals, it was even more terrifying than the wailing of ten thousand ghosts.

Then the group looked at each other, their faces contorted in disgust. Their chests and abdomens had been hollowed out without their knowledge, revealing a bodhisattva sitting inside, just like the person in the Cuiyun Palace!

The ghost generals, accustomed to seeing ghosts in their daily lives, were instead filled with the same terrified screams of mortals seeing a ghost upon seeing the real Buddha: "Who are you?!"

"Hehe."

A soft laugh came from the sky above the five people. The dark clouds parted and the sun shone down from above, casting boundless Buddhist light. To the left of the light, a Buddha appeared with rice and wheat growing into trees that reached the sky and the earth. To the right of the light, a Buddha appeared wearing armor and a kasaya.

The two Buddhas formed mudras to transmit the Dharma, while the five demon generals remained in the palms of the two Buddhas from beginning to end.

Ao Peng looked at the five ghost generals in his palm and said, "Everyone has a sacred mountain in their heart."

With the help of Sun Wukong, the Victorious Fighting Buddha, he also understood the so-called "Five Elements Mountain," which was essentially a divine power that connected heaven and earth.

With the heart as the boundary, one can suppress an entire era.

So even if Sun Wukong could somersault 108,000 li to the ends of the earth, he could never escape the sacred mountain in his heart.

The same applies to the five ghost generals before them. Under the cover of the Five Elements Mountain, traces of the techniques Ao Peng had learned still remained, so he could only manifest a Yin spirit to block the five ghost generals.

If they release that ghost and are willing to wait in line, it might slip through Ao Peng's fingers.

However, they did not let the evil spirit go and devoured it completely. This naturally became the sacred mountain in their hearts. Even if they ran to the ends of the earth, even if they really arrived in front of Ksitigarbha, under this boundary, they were still a world away from Ksitigarbha and would eventually return to Ao Peng's palm.

Ao Peng flipped his palm, and the five ghost generals felt dizzy. They saw a blooming red lotus under his palm. The red lotus had eighteen petals, containing boundless fire hell and an endless sea of ​​suffering.

Inside, demonic thoughts, disguised as Arhats and Bhikkhunis, chuckled maliciously, "They're here! They're here!"

The five ghost generals tried to resist by using their supernatural powers, but it wasn't just Ao Peng who had captured the Five Elements Mountain. The Victorious Fighting Buddha was also transmitting the Dharma through mind-to-mind and hand-to-hand seals.

Ultimately, the five ghost generals were caught in the palm and fell into the sea of ​​suffering. Their magical powers and supernatural abilities, combined with the Five Elements Mountain Seal, were all refined and transformed into the third realm of the eighteen levels of hell—the Five Elements Spirit Mountain.

The mountain radiates Buddha light day and night, but upon closer inspection, one can see that each of these sacred mountains is formed from the condensed souls of tormented ghost generals. As long as the sacred mountains in one's heart are not eradicated, they will never escape.

Ao Peng happily accepted the red lotus and said to Sun Wukong, "Thank you for your help, brother."

After Ao Peng completely suppressed the five ghost generals, and Zhang Tianshi also escorted several plague gods, a force began to repel his body. This was a sign that the mission was successfully completed.

So Ao Peng did not stop this force, and "returned".
