Lin Chen patted Yuanzai's head, signaling it to wait for him on the outside, and then traversed the space alone, flashing directly into the underground entrance.
His figure appeared and disappeared silently in the shadows, each time landing in a dark corner unnoticed by anyone.
He moved quickly through the base and found that, just like with Mike's place, there were almost no ordinary people to be seen. He then made up his mind.
Upon encountering a lone sentry, Lin Chen used telepathy to pull him into a dark corner. The sentry's eyes glazed over for a moment before regaining their focus.
"Who is the leader here?" Lin Chen asked.
"General Jensen," the sentry replied respectfully.
Where is he?
"Go straight ahead, the office is right in the middle."
After ascertaining the location, Lin Chen dismissed the sentry and landed in an open area.
Directly in front of him was a large office, with several guards standing at the door. He used his mind to control the guards, and without further hesitation, he slipped into the room.
Upon entering, he was taken aback. The furnishings were completely different from anything he had seen before; it wasn't an office at all, but more like a huge bedroom.
A burly man with a full head of blond hair was exercising on the bed. When Lin Chen looked over, he immediately bent over and started gagging.
The big man was actually pressing down on a Japanese man, who was fair-skinned and tender.
The bed faced the door, and the burly man saw Lin Chen as soon as he appeared.
The big man was taken aback at first, then flew into a rage, muttering a string of English curses.
He pushed the man beneath him away, rolled off the bed, completely disregarding his naked body, and punched Lin Chen.
Lin Chen suppressed his nausea, and as the time field unfolded, the burly man's movements instantly froze.
He frowned. He didn't sense any divine aura from this man. He activated his mental suggestion, and the big man's eyes changed from anger to emptiness, and then from emptiness to obedience.
"Get dressed," Lin Chen commanded, then casually unleashed a bolt of lightning that reduced the Japanese man on the bed to ashes.
The burly man pulled on his pants, and Lin Chen sat down on the chair, turning around with his toes touching the ground to look at him.
"Jansen?"
"Yes, sir." Jason stood with his hands at his sides, his expression respectful, like a soldier waiting for instructions from his superior.
"Where are the servants of God?"
Jason shook his head: "The servant left an hour ago, and I don't know where he went."
Just an hour ago, when he left Korea, the other party reacted so quickly?
Where are the other servants of God?
"There is one base each in Yokosuka, Kadena, and Ryukyu."
"A total of four divine servants?"
"Yes."
Lin Chen narrowed his eyes, turned Jameson to ashes, and then vanished from the scene.
After picking up Yuanzai, he headed straight for the next base.
Soon after, Lin Chen visited Yokosuka and Kadena as well, and the news he received was that the servant of the god had already left.
So he had no choice but to put away Yuanzai and, once again using his still-unskilled flying techniques, flew towards Ryukyu again by the moonlight.
About an hour later, Lin Chen arrived at the Ryukyu base.
However, the place was strangely quiet. Countless bonfires burned on the base's huge helipad, but there wasn't a single person in sight.
"Come out." Lin Chen appeared on the helipad and said calmly.
Four figures slowly emerged from the four directions.
Three men and one woman, dressed in different combat uniforms, with runes on their chests shimmering in a dark red light.
They each held a divine tablet in their hands, their steps steady, clearly indicating they were well-prepared.
The leader was a man in his thirties with blond hair and an old scar that ran diagonally from his forehead to his jaw.
He looked at Lin Chen, a slight smile playing on his lips, and surprisingly spoke fluent Mandarin: "I've been waiting for you for a long time, Chinese."
Lin Chen didn't ask him how he knew her whereabouts, nor was there any need to ask; these questions were meaningless.
"So, you four are the servants of the gods in this island nation, right?" Lin Chen said, drawing his Tang sword.
The leading servant did not deny it: "Lady Anna knew immediately that Mike's divine tablet was destroyed, although she did not know what despicable means you used to defeat him."
"We believed you would definitely come looking for us, but we didn't expect you to come so quickly, and alone at that."
"But you must die here. No one can disrupt the coming of the Lord."
Lin Chen didn't bother to ask any more questions. Purple light flowed around his Tang sword, and he flashed forward, striking first.
He appeared beside the maid on the left, his blade aimed straight for her throat.
However, before the blade could strike, a dark red light barrier appeared out of thin air in front of her, blocking the attack.
The maid was jolted back several steps, but was unharmed, though her face was somewhat pale.
The immense rebound force caused Lin Chen's arm to go slightly numb. The four divine tablets and four beams of light formed an energy circulation system, meaning that any attack on any one of them would be absorbed by the other three.
Lin Chen raised an eyebrow; it seemed he would have to put in some effort.
The four divine servants worked in perfect coordination and launched a counterattack against Lin Chen, with two taking the lead and two providing support.
Dark red energy surged from the divine tablets, forming a light shield that enveloped everyone. At the same time, the divine tablets in the hands of the four people transformed into sharp blades, chains, and giant hammers, raining down on him.
Lin Chen parried with his sword, dodged, and tried to attack with his backhand, but his opponent decisively retreated.
Then the opponent attacked again, and Lin Chen's time field ability had no effect at all.
The two sides fought back and forth for ten minutes. Lin Chen had difficulty injuring them, and they had even less chance of posing a threat to him. However, their faces were even paler than before.
More importantly, the divine power on their talismans seems to be replenished.
Zi Ling's voice rang in Lin Chen's mind:
"Master, your time-manipulation ability has been suppressed by the power of the rules."
"And they seem to be stalling for time. They are no match for you, Master; instead, they are using the divine cards to hold you back."
Lin Chen had already realized that these people were completely wasting their time. They couldn't beat him in a fight, and they didn't try to escape; instead, they were relentlessly clinging to him.
After fighting for another ten minutes or so, suddenly, the dark red light barrier constructed by the servants of the gods flickered violently, and crack-like gaps appeared between the four pillars of light.
Without hesitation, Lin Chen used spatial teleportation to slip through the gap and landed behind the leading divine servant.
The Tang sword slashed down, severing the arm that was holding the talisman.
As the divine tablet landed, one of the pillars of light vanished instantly, and the energy barrier teetered on the brink of collapse.
The other two were shocked and simultaneously activated their divine tablets, pouring all their remaining energy into Lin Chen.
A thick, dark red beam of light crashed down. Lin Chen did not dodge; instead, he unleashed his divine power to counter it.
"Your gods are nothing special." Lin Chen panted as he poured his divine power to the limit, causing the purple light on his Tang sword to surge, and he cleaved the pillar of light in two with a single strike.
The purple light and dark red energy collided, creating a shockwave that overturned the surrounding ground and sent debris flying.
The four divine servants were blasted away by the shockwave, spitting blood, and their divine tablets slipped from their hands and shattered.
The four men, on the other hand, were already emaciated.
Lin Chen walked over, picked up the shattered divine tablet, and put it into his spatial storage.
He walked up to the leading servant of the gods. The man had lost an arm, his face was covered in blood, and his once robust body was now emaciated.
He looked up at Lin Chen, offering no pleading, only a sinister smile.
You lost.
"What do you mean?" Lin Chen frowned. He didn't sense any danger, but he felt a little uneasy.
Suddenly, dark red light burst forth from all around, instantly engulfing Lin Chen.
A pitch-black rift appeared out of nowhere and sucked him in.
The four of them stopped breathing the instant Lin Chen disappeared.
