Chapter 123 Uninvited Guest

Looking at the scene before him, Irving coughed twice unconsciously.

Seeing this, Tiffany stood up, turned around, and said with a smile, "So, handsome, can you give me a discount on this garment steamer?"

Owen suddenly realized that the other person's actions were a deliberate attempt to seduce him with their beauty.

Am I that kind of person?

Irving coughed twice, glanced at the membership discount note next to the garment steamer, and after thinking for a moment, said, "OK, I can give you a slight discount, but you have to become a member first. After becoming a member, I can give you a 20% discount."

Seeing that the other party had relented, Tiffany's eyes lit up. "No problem!"

As she spoke, she took the garment steamer and headed to the counter.

Seeing that the other person seemed to have misunderstood something, Owen immediately went to the counter and explained, "Ma'am, to become a member of our store, you must make a single purchase of over $500. Would you like to see if you need anything else?"

"Do we have to raise $500?" Tiffany was taken aback.

She frowned subconsciously, but then, remembering that she would get a 20% discount as a member, she turned around and went to the shelves to see if there was anything else she needed.

Owen just put the garment steamer aside.

Just then, the doorbell rang again.

"Welcome, how can I help you?" Irving called out instinctively upon hearing the bell.

But when he saw who it was, he was immediately taken aback. "Mr. Walter, what brings you here?"

"You don't answer the phone, and you don't reply to my messages on social media. If I don't come, won't you miss the script meeting altogether?"

Seeing the surprised look on Owen's face, Walter, with a cigar in his mouth, shrugged helplessly and joked, "Looks like the pawnshop is doing well. No wonder you've been missing for so long."

"Sorry, I've been really busy these past few days." Owen quickly searched for his phone, only to find that his iPhone was out of battery.

It's highly likely that he forgot to charge his phone while chatting with Ayesha about life last night.

"Alright, now that I'm here, come with me. The script discussion is about to begin."

Walter wasn't angry. He exhaled a puff of smoke and, while surveying the pawnshop's interior, said, "If all goes well, filming can officially begin the day after tomorrow, after the script discussion."

"the day after tomorrow?"

Irving had just plugged his phone into the charger when he froze, "So fast?!"

"The progress is already very slow. To be honest, if it weren't for the logical problems in the script discovered during the first script discussion, the whole movie might already be halfway through filming." Seeing Owen's shocked look, Walter picked up a used appliance from the shelf next to him, looked at it, and said with a smile.

Seeing that Walter wasn't joking, Irving immediately frowned.

He had always thought that filming would begin next week.

That's why he's started recruiting staff for the pawnshop these past few days.

With that in mind, he immediately sent a message to Carl and his sister, hoping they could come to the pawnshop to start work today.

"Hi, sir, are you a film producer?"

Tiffany, who was originally selecting items, came out curiously. When she saw Walter wearing an exquisite suit and smoking a cigar, she knew he was no ordinary rich man. Tiffany's eyes lit up and a warm smile appeared on her face.

"Hello, beautiful lady, I'm not a producer, just an ordinary film distributor." Walter simply nodded slightly in response to Tiffany's enthusiasm, then turned to Irving to continue urging him on.

Although Tiffany was indeed beautiful, Walter had seen too many passionate women like her and had long since become immune to it.

Tiffany looked embarrassed when she sensed that the other person didn't really want to talk to her.

She then hurried to the counter, handed the secondhand bread maker she had chosen to Owen, and, still not giving up, asked curiously, "Handsome, from what you were saying just now, did you get a movie role? Are you going to act in a movie?"

"Oh my god, if this is true, you're absolutely amazing!"

"Just lucky." Owen smiled, and could only awkwardly respond to the other party's sudden and overly enthusiastic attitude.

A dozen minutes later, Ayesha returned to the store.

Irving quickly handed over most of the store's affairs to the other party, and gave some instructions on how to receive the goods. Then he and Walter got into a stretched Mercedes-Benz.

"Owen, to be honest, I'm not too optimistic about your pawn shop business." As soon as they got into the car, Walter handed Owen a bottle of ice water and then complained, "Buddy, opening a pawn shop in this neighborhood and trying to make money off those black guys is going to be a long shot. Things aren't like they used to be. Those black guys are still pretty stupid, but if you want to make money off them, you'd be better off partnering with the immigration bureau, getting a few boats, and specifically throwing those smuggled blacks back into Africa!"

"You can make money like this?"

Upon hearing Walter's words, Irving's expression froze, his face filled with disbelief: "You mean you can actually make money helping the immigration service deport illegal immigrants?"

"Of course, everything can be a business in America!" Little Walter laughed. "Don't be fooled by the sullen faces of those guys at the immigration office. They're secretly overjoyed. Thanks to the policies that have been introduced in the last two years that have greatly increased the power of the immigration office, it's practically the most lucrative job they've ever had."

In recent years, the economic environment has been poor, and the number of illegal immigrants who have secretly fled to the United States has been increasing. When I was a child, these black people who had illegally come to the United States didn't even dare to appear on the same street as us.

Walter said a lot, and it took him a long time to come to his senses. He then put down his cigar and said with emotion, "Although Donald, who just came on stage, is a complete clown, I have to say that his attitude toward illegal immigrants is still very correct."

"If these illegal immigrant niggers are allowed to run rampant in America, then sooner or later, white people's jobs and land will be taken away by these niggers!"

Hearing Walter's discriminatory remarks about Black people, Irving shrugged helplessly.

To be honest, he understood the thoughts of Walter and his group of elite white people.

There are genuine reasons why they discriminate against Black people but not against other people of color among undocumented immigrants.

For example, how many Asian immigrants are there? And they don't seem to like having children.

But those Black and Latino people are really prolific. If left unchecked, perhaps in another hundred years, Black people will make up the majority of the population in America.
