I'm building Gundams in America

Chapter 447 Armed Missionaries

"May the saints bless you?" Old Will was taken aback.

Then he suddenly realized something, looked at Wayne with a shocked expression, and said:

"Sir, I understand what you mean... This is truly... a brilliant idea!"

All believers need to do is recite "May the saints bless you" to go to heaven.

It's that simple!

In the face of America's increasingly lagging education system and declining average IQ, such simple operations are often the most effective.

Wayne nodded and said with a smile:

"Indeed, old Will, as expected of an elder of my Heavenly Kingdom Church, you are also a qualified knight of the faith."

Similar simple and crude methods have been used by many religions throughout history.

The most famous and effective of these is the Pure Land School of Buddhism.

It began with Zen Master Huiyuan of the Eastern Jin Dynasty establishing a Buddhist society on Mount Lu to recite the Buddha's name. It developed through the "Other-Power Vow" of the Northern Wei Dynasty, and then to the "Reciting the Name Guarantees Rebirth" proposed by Master Shandao of the Tang Dynasty. It even spread eastward to Japan, where it also flourished in a foreign land.

The core concept of the Pure Land School is that one does not need to know too many scriptures or engage in debates about them.

Simply by frequently reciting "Namo Amitabha Buddha," one can be reborn in the Pure Land and even attain Buddhahood!

The brilliance of this method lies in the fact that it doesn't require reading scriptures, meditation, becoming a monk, or even going to temples.

People of all ages, genders, busy or idle, rich or poor, can recite it whenever they have a spare moment, even while eating or using the restroom.

It's okay if you can't read; you can at least say the pronunciation of "Namo Amitabha Buddha".

If you recite these words often, you can be reborn in the Pure Land and become a Buddha.

Justification by faith is fundamental; simplification of rituals is a sure way to destroy it.

Because of its extremely low entry barrier, Pure Land Buddhism has the greatest influence among the people, to the point that "every family chants Amitabha Buddha, and every household worships Guanyin."

That's what Wayne meant by "May the saints bless you."

In the United States, a typical pyramid-shaped society, the Kingdom Church aims to mobilize the base and middle layers of the pyramid.

Many of them are people whose brains have been damaged by drugs, who have reading disabilities, who dropped out of primary school, or who have developmental delays and low intelligence. These people can't remember overly complicated doctrines.

But I always remember the phrase "God bless you".

Not to mention the large number of low-income workers who may have to work two or three jobs and have no time to go to church or even pray to God.

In between driving to work, while moving goods, or while washing dishes, one can always utter a few "Gods bless you" prayers.

:

This can be described as a huge blue ocean market.

However, those high-ranking traditional churches, especially evangelical churches, completely disdain trying to win over these lower-class people.

After all, for them, the money donated to the church by a hundred people from the lower class may not be as much as that of a high-income group.

This is also why many grassroots cults in American history have developed rapidly.

They gather marginalized people abandoned by society. These poor people are unloved and neglected. When they find a place where they can band together for warmth, they naturally join without hesitation.

They didn't choose.

After realizing that the doctrine Wayne was referring to was "the saints' blessing," old Will quickly relayed this message to the group of missionaries in robes around him.

Reciting "May the saints protect you" will get you into heaven!

There is only one saint, and that is Mr. Wayne!

These missionaries from Seattle were incredibly excited.

Those who were chosen by Old Will from the Kingdom of Heaven Church to serve as missionaries were all intelligent and eloquent individuals.

Whether through their own efforts or through explanations from those around them, they quickly grasped the power of this doctrine.

"Sir, I will now have everyone depart."

Seeing how well the missionaries he had chosen understood the power of this minimalist doctrine, Old Will was equally delighted.

This shows that he did not choose the wrong person.

Wayne smiled slightly and said:

"No rush. This is the first expedition for the missionaries of the Kingdom of Heaven Church. I have a few words to say to everyone."

Old Will was overjoyed to hear this.

As the current Grand Elder of the Church of Heaven, he naturally hoped to gain the affirmation and recognition of Wayne, a saint.

He quickly greeted everyone:

"The saints will preach themselves! All, come and hear the divine pronouncement!"

The group of missionaries immediately approached Wayne with excited and expectant expressions.

They were among the first members of the Kingdom of Heaven Church and were extremely loyal to Wayne.

The happiness and ecstasy they felt upon learning that Wayne would personally preach to them was indescribable.

Listen to the sacred words!

:

They say that the revered saints are people who truly possess the power of miracles, messengers of God!

As they spoke, the missionaries, dressed in grey robes, all stood in front of Wayne, forming a circle.

This scene also pleased the homeless and low-income people on the poor streets, who all turned to look.

The gang leaders Wayne had recently taken in were all shocked, not understanding what their godfather Wayne was doing.

Just by looking at the way the Saints were looking at Wayne, they felt that everything was about to change.

Los Angeles is about to change...

Wayne surveyed the crowd before him, his expression calm as he slowly spoke:

"You are the people I have chosen, and the people God has chosen."

"The destruction and rebirth of America begin today!"

"This evil nation will be destroyed by fire, and you will be God's chosen people who rise from the ashes!"

"When you encounter difficulties and dangers on your journey, remember that the Church of Heaven is behind you, and that is me!"

"When you spread the glory of the Kingdom of Heaven Church throughout America, the raging flames will finally ignite on this land, and everyone will be reborn from the ashes, pass through the final judgment, and enter the Kingdom of Heaven on earth!"

Wayne's voice wasn't loud, but his tone carried a calm and firm confidence.

The idyllic future he described made all the missionaries stare wide-eyed, their eyes filled with longing.

"May the saints bless you!"

A black missionary standing at the front shouted.

"May the saints bless us!" the missionaries called out in twos and threes, their faces equally devout.

The black missionary at the front lifted his hood, revealing gray hair and an aged face, and said to Wayne:

"Sir, thank you. Thank you for giving me a second life, for allowing me to find the courage and purpose to live again..."

"After my son was murdered because of his football talent, my heart died completely. I lived like a walking corpse, aimlessly drifting through this world, until I met you..."

"You may not remember me anymore, but your blessing allowed me to see the light of heaven and gave me the motivation to live again..."

"And now, I have become a priest of the Kingdom of Heaven Church. I possess the supreme glory bestowed upon me by You. I will dedicate everything I have to the Church and to the glory of the saints!"

Looking at the elderly Black man before him, whose face was filled with excitement and boundless piety, Wayne said gently:

"Brandt, my friend, of course I remember you. Poor little Brandt was shot because someone was jealous of his full football scholarship... He'll surely go to heaven..."

:

"You once told me about the ancient Mayan ball games, and rugby was the modern-day Colosseum, wasn't it?"

The old black man in front of me was one of the patients who had previously sought Wayne's blessing for treatment.

Upon hearing Wayne recount his information in detail, even recalling their past conversations, old Brant trembled, tears instantly welling in his eyes. He abruptly knelt on the ground, trembling as he said:

"Oh... great and all-knowing saint, you still remember me... you still remember this poor wretch..."

Loyalty: Willing to follow to the death

Golden words appeared above his head.

As he spoke, Brant lowered his head and kissed Wayne's shoes with a devout expression, while touching the ground beneath Wayne's feet with his forehead.

He felt an immense sense of glory to be remembered by the saints.

It was as if he, a tiny, ordinary, and suffering being, was being watched by a supreme Other, and thus he too was imbued with that grandeur, becoming part of a metaphysical, great being.

Human beings are so insignificant, and that is why they need grand narratives and a sense of sublimity to enrich their spirit.

Those who are on the margins of society and could be killed at any time need a strong spiritual pillar to support them.

For them, this was their only lifeline.

Moreover, they personally experienced the existence of miracles.

Wayne sighed, raised his hand and stroked Brant's head, saying:

"Before you set off, I will bless each of you, and within the next day you will have divine power."

As he spoke, he instantly activated the [Blessing] power of the [Messiah Ring], temporarily increasing Brant's stamina by one point.

Brant immediately felt his aged body suddenly filled with power.

He raised his hands in disbelief, muttering:

"I felt... divine power! Saints, please protect me!"

Wayne strode over, and whichever missionary he approached immediately knelt down, hands clasped in prayer, face full of piety.

With a compassionate expression, Wayne reached out and stroked the heads of the missionaries, activating the power of the Messiah Ring.

It could be to improve physical strength or mental strength.

This scene was solemn and dignified, like a prayer before an army sets out for battle.

The homeless people and the lower classes on the poor streets had never seen such a scene before, and even the members of several street gangs were all stunned.

Soon, Wayne had finished blessing everyone, and then made a gesture and said:

:

"Bring the two missionary relics of the Kingdom of Heaven Church."

Upon hearing this, the missionaries who had just been blessed all showed expressions of anticipation.

Are there missionary relics in the church?

This was the first time they had ever heard of it!

The blessing from Saint Wayne alone was enough to fill their hearts with joy, as if they were bathed in holy light.

I never expected to get a missionary relic!

This was a wonderful surprise.

Old Will nodded and immediately carried over several boxes with Mike and the others, placing them in front of Wayne.

Several boxes were placed on the left, and several boxes were placed on the right.

These were all things that Old Will and his men had prepared long ago.

Wayne immediately opened the box on the left, revealing a box full of US dollars.

Then he opened the box on the right, revealing a box full of pistols and bright yellow bullets.
