Starting as dockworkers, they swept through Chongqing.

Chapter 13 The Alien Species, Gara Mystic Serpent

Kanavi was stuffing the barbecue grill into a bag when he saw Celen return. He looked up and asked, "Celen, where have you been? I haven't seen you all afternoon."

"I practiced for a while in the woods over there," Xiren said casually.

Just then, a commotion arose in the crowd.

"Where is Daisy?"

A girl asked anxiously, "They were just here together a moment ago, how come they disappeared in the blink of an eye?"

"Fina is missing too," another girl added.

Everyone looked at each other in bewilderment.

Although this is a suburb, it is not far from the city, and we have never heard of any wild animals appearing here.

"Did he go to the restroom?" Czech wondered.

"Impossible, they've been gone for over half an hour."

"I think I just saw them heading towards the factory," a thin boy said, pointing to the abandoned factory in the distance.

It was a huge red brick building, with half of its chimney broken off, and the dark windows looked like dead, unseeing eyes, exuding a sinister atmosphere.

"ah--!!"

Just as everyone was hesitating whether to go look for them, a piercing scream suddenly came from the direction of the factory.

The voice was shrill, filled with extreme fear.

Everyone's expression changed instantly.

"Something's happened!"

Kanavi dropped the bag he was holding and ran away.

Celen reacted faster than him.

The moment the scream rang out, he had already rushed out.

After an afternoon of breathing exercises, although his body was tired, his energy was beginning to rise, and his explosive power was stronger than before.

With his leg muscles taut, he kicked deep craters into the soil beneath his feet, and like a cheetah, he charged to the front of the group in just a few seconds.

The walls surrounding the abandoned factory have long since collapsed.

Xilun rushed into the overgrown yard and followed the sound to the vicinity of the factory's drainage outlet.

There was a huge wastewater pipe there, a meter in diameter, dark inside, emitting a nauseating stench.

On the pile of rubble in front of the pipe, two girls were sitting on the ground, trembling.

It's Daisy and Fina.

Daisy's white dress was covered in mud, and there was a clear bloodstain on her calf from which blood was gushing out.

Fina was so frightened that her face turned deathly pale, and she didn't even have the strength to stand up.

"Hiss—hiss—"

A chilling hissing sound came from the shadows of the pipe.

Xilun abruptly stopped, his pupils contracting sharply.

In the afterglow of the setting sun, he could see the thing clearly.

It was a snake.

It was as thick as a thigh, its entire body covered in jet-black, iron-like scales. On its triangular head were two slightly raised fleshy growths, and its pair of dark yellow vertical pupils coldly stared at the two girls in front of it.

Its body was coiled at the pipe opening, like a small black mountain, exuding a cold and violent aura.

"What the hell is this thing?!"

When the Czechs and others who arrived later saw this scene, they gasped in shock and their legs went weak.

Kanavi ran over, panting heavily, and his face turned extremely pale when he saw the snake clearly.

"It's the Garuda Serpent!"

He quickly explained, "These snakes typically live deep in sewers. They aren't very venomous, but their scales are extremely hard, and they possess incredible strength. Once they coil around you, even your bones can be broken!"

"And..." Kanavi swallowed hard, "this one is huge. A normal Gara Xuan Snake is only as thick as an arm, this one... it's practically a monster."

Xilun stared at the snake, a slight unease settling in his heart.

Mutations.

Or perhaps... a different species.

In the heavily polluted Victorian era, the discharge of wastewater and alchemy waste often caused horrific mutations in some organisms.

Legends about "poisonous frogs in the sewers" and "two-headed rats" circulate in the dock area.

I never expected to run into him here.

"Help...help me..."

Daisy saw the people rushing towards her, her eyes blazing with hope for survival, and she cried out in a tearful voice.

She tried to crawl backward, but the injury to her leg prevented her from moving at all.

The mutated black serpent seemed to be enraged by the arrival of the crowd.

It straightened its upper body, its neck scales opened, and it emitted a threatening hiss.

"Don't be afraid! There are many of us!"

To impress the girls, a burly male student let out a loud shout to bolster his courage.

He grabbed a discarded rusty iron bar from the ground and charged forward.

"Go to hell, you beast!"

The iron rod whistled through the air as it slammed down hard on the snake's head.

clang!

A crisp sound of metal clashing.

When the iron rod struck the black scales, it actually sent up a string of sparks!

The snake merely shook its head, remaining completely unharmed.

"What?!"

The male trainee was stunned.

Before he could react, the snake suddenly lunged forward, moving as fast as a black lightning bolt.

"what!"

The male trainee screamed as his wrist was bitten hard by the snake.

Blood splattered.

The iron rod in his hand clattered to the ground, and he collapsed to his knees in pain, desperately trying to shake it off, but he couldn't get it off no matter what he did.

The crowd erupted in chaos.

The few people who had originally wanted to rush up to help were so frightened that they retreated repeatedly.

This is the helplessness of ordinary people when facing wild beasts.

Even after practicing breathing techniques for a few days, one is still a weakling vulnerable to absolute defense and speed.

"Damn it!"

Kanavi gritted his teeth, preparing to pull out the folding knife he used for self-defense from his waist.

Just then, a figure swept past him.

It is West London.

He had been observing.

The moment the snake bit the male trainee's wrist and his body stiffened briefly from the force of the bite, he moved.

In just two steps, he covered a distance of five meters.

The heat inside my body instantly surged to my arms.

Xilun's hands reached out with unparalleled precision, like iron clamps.

A hand gripped the snake tightly at its vital spot.

With his other hand, he gripped the snake's lower jaw.

"Get down here!"

With a low growl, Xilun bulged his arm muscles and forcefully ripped the thick python off the male student's wrist.

hiss--!

The mutated black snake, in pain, released its grip.

It twisted its body wildly, its thick snake tail lashing out at Xilun's waist with a whistling sound, while simultaneously trying to wrap its body around the human who dared to provoke it.

Instead of retreating, Xilun advanced.

His feet were firmly planted in the pile of rubble like tree roots, as steady as a rock.

He remained motionless as the snake's tail lashed against his body with dull thuds.

"A stone! Give me a stone!"

"Sirlen shouted."

Kanavi, who was standing nearby, reacted the fastest, picking up a piece of angular granite and throwing it forcefully.

Xilun held the snake's head down with one hand, caught the stone with the other, and smashed it down hard on the snake's head.

boom! boom! boom!

Three times in a row.

The stone struck the hard scales, making Xilun's hand go numb.

But those damn scales were too hard; they cracked the stone, but the snake's head only bled a little, and it struggled even more violently.

The immense crushing force traveled up his arm, and Xilun felt his bones creaking.

"It's no use! Its scales are harder than iron!" Canavi cried out in despair.

Harder than iron?

A ruthless glint flashed in Xilun's eyes.

Then we don't need stones.

He threw away the pebbles in his hand.

Take a deep breath.

The energy within his body circulated wildly, and the heat flow, like boiling magma, poured entirely into the five fingers of his right hand.

Xilun's right hand clenched tightly, his fingertips seemingly transforming into sharp steel hooks that dug deep into the soft flesh on either side of the snake's head.

"die!"

He roared, gathering all his strength into that single grip.

Click!

A sickening cracking sound rang out.

The mutated black snake, which was still struggling frantically, suddenly stiffened.

Its ferocious maw was pried open from both sides by tremendous force, tearing out a bloody gash.

His eyeballs bulged out, and dark red blood mixed with white brain matter flowed down between Xilun's fingers.

The snake's body drooped limply, twitched twice, and then remained completely still.

The surroundings were deathly silent.

Everyone stared wide-eyed at the figure standing in the setting sun.

Xilun was covered in sweat, holding the dead snake in his hand, black blood dripping onto the gravel with a pattering sound.

He casually tossed the snake carcass on the ground, shook the blood off his hands, turned to the stunned crowd, and calmly said:

"He's dead."
