Chapter 84 Noah Chandler's Home
Seeing that Li Qi's expression was off, Lola realized that the dinner she had prepared might have been too lavish.
She stuck out her tongue, looking embarrassed.
Li Qi couldn't get angry. He scratched his head and instructed, "Put the food on the dining table, but don't leave too many traces."
He then turned to Noah and asked, "Besides you, who else was involved in this?"
Noah Chandler shook his head blankly: "Nick and I have a one-way communication. I'm basically his representative in the rich neighborhood, delivering goods and collecting money. Other than that, I don't get involved in anything else."
"A wealthy neighborhood? A spokesperson? You're very rich?" Looking at Noah Chandler's rather striking face, Li Qi suddenly had a thought. "Are you married? With whom? Where do you live? How big is your house?"
Noah was a little confused and quickly replied, "I'm divorced. I live alone in Beverly Hills in a house that's about 6000 square feet!"
Li Qi was very satisfied with the answer and waved to Lola, who was eating a hamburger at the table.
Lola quickly put down the hamburger in her hand, carefully wiped her hands to make sure she didn't take any food scraps with her, and then followed Li Qi to the study.
Li Qi stared at Adam Chandler in the living room in the distance, hugged Laura, kissed her forehead, and instructed, "I'm taking him away. You stay here and hurry up and organize the data in the basement. We'll have to leave when I get back."
Lola asked curiously, "Where are you going?"
Li Qi shook his head: "Don't ask, darling. You're a civil servant; asking too many questions won't be good for you."
After explaining the details, Li Qi went to the living room, squatted down in front of Adam, and said in a gentle tone, "We have no grudges between us. Do me a favor, and we'll call it a day. How about that?"
Hearing that there was a chance to survive, Noah nodded frantically: "Tell me! I'll do anything! I'll do anything you ask!"
Li Qi taped Noah Chandler's mouth shut, put a mask and a baseball cap on him, tied his hands behind his back, held him at gunpoint, and led him outside.
Occasionally, a car would pass by, and Li Qi would hide the pistol in the hem of his shirt and press the key to Noah's Mercedes.
In the distance, a black Mercedes SUV flashed its lights and its headlights came on.
Li Qi was somewhat impressed. It seemed that Mr. Chandler was living a more comfortable life than Nick.
After getting into the car through the door closest to the cemetery, Richie and Noah Chandler confirmed the address again and fed him the sleeping pills they had found at Nick's secret hideout.
Noah dared not refuse to take it, so he lay down in the back seat and waited for the medicine to take effect.
Li Qi cautiously looked around, and only breathed a sigh of relief when Noah's eyelids became heavy and he fell asleep.
With simple makeup and a resemblance to Noah Chandler, Li Qi drove his Mercedes-Benz GL550 onto the main road.
Half an hour later, the Mercedes stopped at the intersection of Dalehurst AVE and Wyton Dr in Beverly Hills, in front of a white building with red brick walls.
This is an upscale residential area located on the south side of Sunset Boulevard in Beverly Hills. Unlike the Hancock Park community, there are no security booths or access control systems at the entrance of this area. However, patrolling security vehicles and police cars pass by from time to time while walking on the street, reflecting a completely different security style.
Tall, dense green belts blocked any potential prying eyes. They also provided physical separation from the slums in terms of function and transportation.
The absence of security booths does not mean there is no security; it simply means that this place is high-end enough that many wealthy people entrust their security to private bodyguards.
If someone were to commit a crime in this place, even if they managed to evade the dense patrols and guards, they probably wouldn't be able to break through the security forces of a wealthy family's home.
Even if they succeed, it will be difficult to escape easily.
This is an ultra-wealthy neighborhood, even more upscale than Hancock Park.
Looking at the overly flashy red main gate, Li Qi was speechless.
The residence at No. 503 is located at the southwest corner of the intersection, with the main entrance facing east and the garage door opening north onto Wheaton Avenue.
After rounding the street corner and driving into the garage, Richie got out first and woke up Noah Chandler, who was sleeping in the back seat.
"Huh? What... Ah!" Noah took a while to react, and the pain in his body made him realize what was happening in front of him.
Li Qi wasn't in a hurry. After Noah got out of the car, he instructed, "Come on, disable the access control alarm system first!"
Noah Chandler didn't dare to delay, entered the password, and deactivated the access control alarm.
Where is the safe?
Noah Chandler blinked. "I have a safe upstairs, but... I don't usually use it."
Li Qi had no time for beating around the bush, and plunged his fingers directly into the wound on the man's shoulder: "Don't test my limits!"
Noah quickly raised his hand in agreement: "My money and valuables are all in the vault in the basement!"
"Alright, take me to your vault!"
At this point, Noah was even more certain that the young desperado was after the money in his hands, and if that were the case, perhaps he could really save his life...
Upon arriving in the basement, Li Qi was somewhat surprised to see several plastic barrels containing chemicals against the wall, as well as stacks of unused plastic sheets.
When Noah Chandler slid open the sliding door in the wall, revealing the gleaming silver vault door behind it, Richie was so astonished that his mouth dropped open.
"I didn't set this up. The previous owner bought it. This vault was left here when the house was first built."
Noah Chandler was pleased with Richie's reaction, entered the password, and opened the vault.
Li Qi was somewhat disappointed.
It looks impressive, but it's nothing compared to Nick's savings.
Some cash, some weapons, a few valuables, that's all.
It seems the claim that Noah Chandler is Nick Wilde's spokesperson is indeed true.
"Come on, let me ask you some questions first. If you answer them clearly, I'll spare your life." Li Qi unfolded a plastic sheet and spread it on the ground, moved a chair over, let Noah sit down, and began to ask questions.
Opening his phone's notes app, Li Qi patiently asked, "His name is Noah Chandler, what's his birthday?"
Noah was taken aback: "Why...why are you asking this?"
Li Qi extended his middle finger and made a hooking motion.
Noah's face turned pale, and he quickly told the truth.
"Social security number..."
"Parents? Siblings? Their names, birthdays..."
"address……"
"Bank card PIN..."
"The safe's combination..."
"My best friend..."
"My girlfriend whom I've been dating recently..."
"Tell me about Jesper Gray. I see he's pinned to the top of your social media chat."
"He was my college classmate..."
Li Qi asked Noah about the names of people in his phone's chat software, contacts, and call logs one by one. Noah Chandler, unaware of the reasoning, could only answer them one by one.
Lee asked a series of detailed questions, including Chandler's bed habits and favorite positions.
Chandler was completely baffled by the question. Only after confirming that nothing had been missed did Li Qi get up with satisfaction, walk over to Chandler's side, look him up and down, and then laugh.
Noah felt uneasy at his laughter and asked curiously, "Why...why are you asking me these personal details?"
Li Qi smiled innocently and shook his head: "Nothing! Just curious. One last question, answer it and I'll let you go, how about it?"
Noah nodded quickly, "Go ahead and ask! I'll answer you all right!"
Li Qi was very satisfied with his performance. He pointed to the plastic sheets and chemicals and asked with a smile, "These look very familiar. Tell me the truth, have you killed someone here?"
